David, who had been summoned to Limbo along with the others, was finally beginning to wake.
" Uhhh." David groaned.
" David! David You must wake now!" Sooraya yelled to the boy.
" Uhhh... Sooraya? What.... What happened?" David asked.
" We are in big trouble." Sooraya told the boy.
David took a look around at the hellscape in front of him. All of his friends were either chained up or in the process of being chained up.
" What? Where are? Oh, dear god." David exclaimed.
Bling, Onyx, Hope, Indra, Hisako, Ernst, Martha, Celeste, Phoebe, Mindee, Josh, Sooraya, Cessily, and Laura were all gathered up in chains.
Everyone was being corralled together. Even Laura, who tried fighting back, was completely helpless in this situation.
" This... This is bad. All I remember was fire. Like there was an explosion. Cess, did you see?" David was asking when Cessily cut him off.
" I was asleep and then I heard screaming. The Cuckoos. Those things were putting them inside those helmets... They haven't moved since. I think that's Martha in the other one." Cessily explained.
" They knew to take out the telepaths. Nori and Julian aren't here... I take it you guys can't use your powers?" David asked the girls, who should be able to escape the chains easily due to their powers.
" Get us out of here, David. You have to get us out of here." Cessily told the boy.
" Cessily." Sooraya spoke.
" Don't tell me to calm down! Get these things off of me, David!!" Cessily yelled
" Cessily, stop. You're just making it worse!" David exclaimed.
Unfortunately, he had no idea how right he was.
" No... Oh no." Sooraya whispered.
In a flash of green light, Belasco, the demon lord of Limbo, and his servants appeared in front of David and the others. His skin was red, he had two small horns curved upwards, and very sharp teeth.
" Shaitan." Sooraya muttered. " We are outside of Allah's sight. We are in hell." She spoke.
" Where is she?" Belasco asked as he approached the group.
David landed on the ground in chains and Belasco grabbed his face.
" David!" Cessily screamed.
Belasco relished in the boy's pain, but he didn't have time to waste. He was in a hurry.
" She who?" David asked. " Who are you? What do you want with us?" David asked.
" You were with her. I can smell her on you. On all three of you. You will tell me where she is, or you and your friends will suffer." Belasco told the boy.
Belasco continued to question David, Meanwhile, down below the others were busy being chained up in prisons similar to David and the others.
" Oh my god! What is thing touching me?!" Hope screamed. She was being held in place by a giant tentacle monster.
" Hope Abbot, according to your file you are an astral projector. Use your power. Go up to where the light is." Laura told the girl.
" Are you serious?" Hope asked as she looked up at the sky. " Go into the light? What's up there?" She asked.
" The institute." Laura told the girl.
" What?! How can you tell?" Hope asked.
" I have very good sight." Laura replied.
" Seriously?!" Hope asked, slightly irritated by Laura.
" I can fix them." Josh spoke up. " No matter how bad he hurts them, I can fix it." Josh told Laura.
Laura looked at Josh pitifully and shook her head.
" He will not hurt them, Josh. I can see it in his eyes." Laura told the boy.
" Well... Good." Josh replied.
" You misunderstand. He will not hurt them... He's going to kill them." Laura told the boy.
Back up to the platform, Belasco was beginning to lose his patience with David
" Where is she?!" Belasco demanded to know once more. " Where is Illyana Rasputin?!"
" Illyana.... Rasputin?" David asked again. He genuinely didn't know what it was Belasco wanted. But Belasco didn't believe him.
" He knows master." S'ym told Belasco.
" I'm sorry.... Illyana Rasputin is dead." David told the man. But it wouldn't take.
" Cessily! Sooraya! You have to do something! You have to fight!" Laura yelled to the two girls, trying to get them to fight and save David. But it was too late.
" You Lie!" Belasco exclaimed. He ripped David from his chains and drove his hand through David's chest and tore his heart out.
" David!!"
" Noooo!!!"
Sooraya and Cessily both yelled in terror as the boy dropped to the ground dead.
Belasco turned to the two girls with a smile on his face.
" Now... I'll ask again. Where is she?" Belasco asked the girl.
" DAVID!!" Josh yelled. He flexed his arms, and he used his death touch to kill the demon trapping him. This gave Laura a chance to use her foot talons to cut herself free.
" Trance! Go!" Laura yelled. She broke her cuffs off and took off to free the others.
Trance on the other hand did as Laura told her and used her astral projection to fly up towards the portal.
" Let me kill them." S'Ym asked Belasco. But the demon lord shook his head no.
" Watch the others. These children are mine." Belasco told the demon.
Josh ran straight to David. He placed his hands on the boy's chest and tried healing him.
" Superior vena cava, Aorta, pulmonary artery, veins, left and right atrium, tricuspid-- Oh god, please let this work." Josh ranted. " Come on.' He begged. Slowly but surely Josh's powers began rebuilding a heart for David, and with one last push, David came back to life.
Meanwhile Laura freed Cessily and Sooraya.
" Cessily, Sooraya. You have to fight!" Laura told the two girls. She then lunged at Belasco and cut him across the chest and face with her claws. But it only served to anger the man more.
" Pitiful child. Your little claws are nothing against the power of the elder gods." Belasco told the girl. He grabbed her by the throat and lifted her off the ground. " Your soul isn't even worth taking... It reeks of man's science. You are not even real." Belasco declared.
In a flash of green light, Laura was disintegrated down to her bones. Belasco killed her with no effort at all.
" Laura!" Cessily and Sooraya both screamed in terror.
Belasco looked back at them once again with a smile on his face.
" Once again. Where is Illyana Rasputin?" Belasco asked.
Sooraya and Cessily both broke freed themselves from the remainder of their prisons and prepared to fight Belasco. But S'ym, Belasco's right-hand man, stepped forward to fight instead.
" Ahhh, Children... You just don't get it. I was abandoned by my masters. Usurped by a mortal woman.... I walked through an ocean of blood to take back Limbo. And I will not be denied. You will tell me what I want to know!" Belasco demanded.
" Sooraya.... I can't.... I can't do this." Cessily told the girl.
" The Devil comes, Cessily." Sooraya told the girl. " Please.... Please do not let me fight alone." Sooraya begged.
" Oh God, Sooraya." Cessily cried.
" He is here." Sooraya told the girl.
Belasco descended upon the two girls, like a monster in the night. He easily ripped through Sooraya's sand veil and stood between the two girls.
" You know where she is! You were with her! Answer me!" Belasco demanded.
" We weren't with her! We don't know what you're talking about! We don't even know who you are!" Cessily told the man.
" More lies. You know well enough to fear me." Belasco replied with a toothy grin. " Both of you so afraid. I can taste it on your souls." Belasco first addressed Sooraya. " You, afraid of the devil. Afraid that you are not worthy of your god's love." He then turned to Cessily. " And you... So afraid of being hurt. Ahh, hurt again. The pain is so terrible, isn't it?" Belasco asked the girl.
" Sooraya! Now!" Cessily yelled.
Cessily and Sooraya tried to attack Belasco, but the man laughed and blasted Sooraya into a puddle of bubbly metal.
" Nononono!" Cessily cried
" HAHAHAHA! I am the devil." Belasco exclaimed. The pressure from his magic was so strong, that even in her sand form, Sooraya was being injured. Her veil was torn from her face before she realized it. "And your time in hell is just beginning."
