Chapter 16 - Way Too Invested

~~~~~~That Night~~~~~~
Unnamed Virtual Space 1...
"What do you think Marcus, try it push me!" Janette and Marcus could be seen talking and sharing a little time training Janette was trying the horse stance that Hendricks had shown them that afternoon and was doing so enthusiastically.
Marcus stood up from where he was laying, placed his hands on Janette's back, and pushed...
*Flop*
Janette faceplanted into the dirt and stayed there for a few seconds twitching...
"Jan, are you ok?"
"Hahahaha hahahaa" Janette started laughing while still on the floor.
Marcus looked as confused as one could be.
"I got it, Marcus, I understand it now!" Janette stood up with a leap and proceeded to get into her stance once more.
"Look, it's not that difficult. You need to keep your legs wide open so your body weight is in line with your legs, also you can use your toes to make it more stable." "Push me again!" Janette said while smiling, her face still dirty with soil and grass.
"Are you sure? You will fall again..." Marcus was a bit hesitant, although Janette's expression was very convincing.
"Hurry UP!" Janette was starting to grow impatient.
So Marcus obliged.
Surprisingly when he used the same amount of force he did a few seconds ago Janette barely moved. Her stance certainly felt sturdier.
Janette had a triumphant expression, she felt accomplished since she came up with the answer before Marcus did, it was only natural since she had been trying since they saw Hendricks, and time inside the Virtual Space moved a bit faster...
Still, Marcus congratulated her accordingly and he did so by cleaning her face and rubbing her head a little bit.
"You did well Jan, I'm proud."
"Hehehe praise me you, mere mortal, hehe." Janette's face was beaming with joy. a bad habit she picked from Marcus was his weird sense of humor tho...
When Marcus saw the notification he was both happy and pissed...
He didn't like the fact that the System recognized Janette as a 'Bot' but it seemed to be out of his control. Either way, he couldn't feel too mad since without the System it would be debatable if Janette would even exist the way she does now.
Pushing those depressing thoughts aside Marcus decided to check the He felt that maybe there could be something that could help him with that little dilemma.
Oh? He hadn't realized there was new stuff available, he must have missed the notification... That could become troublesome if something important were to happen.
[Open Programs]
[It seems like restocking items isn't considered a pop-up either, it kinda makes sense. I wonder what the is tho...]
[I want it.] Marcus smiled, he knew how to get Z whatever does that means... He didn't know how much Lumina Stones cost but having a clue was a good headstart!
Marcus and Janette kept talking for a while and then he went to sleep, Marcus found out that if he slept inside the Virtual Space he could sleep 'faster' because of the difference from the outside world. But when he was sleeping inside Janette wouldn't be able to see the outside world a major problem since that left their body exposed.
Marcus decided he would only sleep in the Virtual Space if he was somewhere safe...
~~~~~~The Next Day~~~~~~

A huge mountain of clean plates and cups was eclipsing two women that were hard at work. Janette and Berta were cleaning the dishes after breakfast.

"Miss Berta, how much does a Lumina Stone costs?"

"Oh? Did you get a liking for them?" Berta said while drying her hands with a cloth.

"Yes, I wanted to try and make something out of them, they are very pretty!" Janette dried up her hands too and said with anticipation.

"Well, they aren't that expensive, they don't get sold to just anyone tho. And they run out of light if you don't keep them in a special container..." "Let me try and ask Richard if he needs any help on his workshop, he could use a bit of a feminine touch at his place haha" Berta laughed and patted Janette on the back.

"A-haha..." Janette laughed nervously, she wasn't the right person to ask if that was the case...

[Basic Understanding Level]>

Janette smiled a bit and moved on to her next task.

Working during the day, training afternoon, and resting at night. Without lots of news, the rest of the week went by...

~~~~~~Hendricks Ofice~~~~~~
Hendricks was sitting on his leather chair looking through his window, suddenly a man with a black cloak appeared behind him...
"My lord, we have intercepted a few spies, there will be a few of them this year too. Please be careful." The cloaked figure said without missing a beat.
"When, where, how many?" Hendricks responded without looking back at the man.
"Six days ago at Mt. Blackburn, three of them, one male two females."
"Keep on the good work, I will take care of those who get here."
"Understood, Long live Blue Bell."
"Long live."
The man vanished just as he appeared, leaving no trace.
Hendricks's expression relaxed a bit, the probability for those people to be looking for Nana was low, but it was still a possibility...
Hendricks started planning this year's entrance exam for Blue Bell Academy for it will be taking place in a little less than two months.
~~~~~~Unnamed Virtual Space 1~~~~~~

Janette was sitting on the grass while Marcus was reading something he found in Hendricks's library to have a bit of leisure time with Janette instead of just training all day long.

He knew it wasn't optimal but his guilt wouldn't let him enslave her, she wasn't a mindless bot after all...

Although she was mad at the author of the novel Janette was way too invested in the story...
