Chapter 5 - Gossip

Cilia POV

"Are you sure?"

I fell silent.

"I've seen your personnel data, it turns out that you graduated from the international finance department at INKA university?" I didn't expect them to investigate me. Now I'm getting more and more scared, could it be that by now he also remembers who I am?

"Did you know? I also graduated from INKA university. And I didn't expect us to take the same major." He smiled, judging from his expression, it seemed he didn't remember anything about what happened five years ago. But finding the question, I can't seem to avoid it anymore.

"Yes, I know." I bit my lower lip doubtfully.

His expression turned a little surprised, maybe I can give him a good reason to not suspect.

"Master is a successful businessman in the future, always proud of the lecturers. And a prince figure for the students. Who doesn't know a Snapp Edward." I'm not sure what I said, how can I flatter him like this? Am I crazy?

Snapp widened his smile. "Since you are a person majoring in the same field as me, I should have an impression of you."

Huh... what does that mean?

I don't know where the conversation is going at this point. He can't remember who I am, can he?

No, no way, he must have erased me in his memory like dust. How could he remember this completely unattractive junior?

I jumped in surprise when Snapp suddenly rose from his throne. He leaned forward, the strong masculine scent was instantly sniffed again by my sense of smell. A truly alluring scent. "I really like talented people. Your achievements are outstanding and graduated from the same university as me. So I'll pretend this never happened. Now get back to work." The look in his eyes was so gentle, that my defenses were about to collapse again.

Don't be charmed Cilia, don't!

I stepped out of the room feeling still dazed. I don't know what happened to me, remembering the look Snapp looked at me earlier, I felt like I wanted to just sink myself to the bottom of the ocean instead of falling for his charms.

The eyes of the other employees looked at me strangely when I returned to this room of the financial division, they looked at me with scornful eyes, as if I was a thief and they seemed to be judging me.

I walked clumsily to my desk under those intimidating stares. Don't know what I did wrong, but I think this must have something to do with Snapp suddenly calling me to his room. Yeah... Looks like they're all jealous.

I understand more about this situation when they disperse while continuing to whisper. From another angle, my sense of hearing caught an employee's conversation with Merry. "Hi... Merry, maybe tomorrow you have to change your appearance, learn from Silia."

And with an annoyed tone, the sexy woman replied. "Heh . . . there's no way young master Snapp would like a woman so classless."

"Yes . . . it's possible that young master Snapp is in the mood for a change of taste."

"Oh, my... are you free to spend so much time gossiping like this?" Merry got angry and left. "Seriously."

That pointless debate just sounded ridiculous to my ears. I almost couldn't stop myself from laughing. When I turned to the side of my desk, I already found Alya with a waiting look.

"What is it?" I asked.

Alya immediately brought her face closer to mine. "I heard they said you and young master Snapp graduated from the same university?" He said in a low voice. Turns out my guess was right. They were all curious about this. They must have been busy gossiping about me, gossiping about what was going on between me and Snapp.

"Yeah..." I said simply.

"Well... it's true that you and young master Snapp already know each other!" I can't believe the girl next to me screamed hysterically and managed to distract another employee. Now they all looked back at me in horror. Am I going to die soon? The aura of killing was clearly visible in the many pairs of eyes.

"It's not like that, when I majored in finance, that year also happened to be young master Snapp continuing his studies abroad, so there's nothing between us." Obviously, I hastily rectified Alya's words before I actually ended up with only a name.

"What?! Even you and young master Snapp are in the same department?!" I patted myself on the forehead while looking down deeply. As if regretting my own explanation which made Alya even more uncontrollable. "Wow... it turns out that Silia is a girl who is in the same department as young master Snapp. That's really cool"

Gosh, this girl... Did she realize she was putting me in trouble right now?

"Hah... only one campus, what's there to be proud of?!" Merry objected annoyed. The corner of his eye glanced at me sharply.

Alya was about to answer again, but I hastily held it in, I grabbed her arm, she turned around, and I shook my head faintly. He nodded in understanding. I don't want this senseless debate to get any longer.

The eerie aura slowly faded, replaced with excitement when Snapp suddenly walked past the division room. All eyes are now on him. But I was suffocated by the air around me when the man's footsteps stopped right at the side of my desk.

Oh... God, what else can this guy do... Can't that make my day a little bit easier?

Slowly his body bent, his face close, and his lips almost touched my ear. "Good job huh?" His warm breath blew against my cheek, and it managed to make my face blush.

"Alright." I stuttered.

Snapp straightened himself back up, I think he must be smiling right now. Would pranking me be this much fun for him? But whatever the power, he's the boss. My hands can only be clenched tightly holding the emotion. I suspect he did this on purpose so that I could be bullied by other employees.

"Gosh... Cilia isn't pretty, isn't she sexy? Also only a month into the job. How does she know young master Snapp?" Looks like my guess was right. Painful words began to fall from the mouth of one of them.

"And he was also specially summoned to young master Snapp's room." Said another again.

"And even young master Snapp greeted him!"

It was clear that all their words were full of satire because of feelings of jealousy. That guy really sucks. Always puts me in trouble.

For the peace of all parties, and for the peace of myself. The next day I steadfastly submitted my resignation letter to the personnel department. "Mom... this is my resignation letter." I went to Bu Seina as the head of the personnel department that morning.

He couldn't hide his shocked face. "Huh... why do you suddenly want to resign?" he asked in a confused tone.

Ah... That's right, I haven't even thought about the reason for my resignation. Why can I be this careless?

"For personal reasons, ma'am. During this one month, I have learned a lot in this company. Thank you for the help of you and all parties while I worked here." I don't know, suddenly that reason just popped into my head, I hope this reason makes sense and can be accepted. I don't want that for reasons that are not strong enough, the procedure for my resignation will be complicated.

"Ah... well, you just finish the rest of your work first. And I'll take care of the procedure." But I think I'm overthinking too much. Mrs. Seina didn't seem to really respond to my reasoning. I just hope everything will be over soon.

"Okay ma'am."

I saw he immediately called someone when I was about to leave from there.

POV Snapp.

"Young master Snapp, sorry to interrupt your vacation. Look, Miss Silia suddenly has the intention of resigning. So I would like to ask Young Master Snapp's opinion." A woman's voice immediately echoed on the other end of the phone as soon as I received a call from her. I remember this was the voice of the head of personnel, Mrs. Seina.

"Cilia?"

"Yes... Cilia, an employee you summoned to your room yesterday." It's clear again. And I'm still trying to remember. "An employee resigned, should you ask me too?" I've started to remember the girl he meant. But I did it on purpose.

"Sorry young master Snapp, so what should I do?" I smiled at his panicked voice.

"Wait... I have a plan for that new employee." I said before ending my call.

Continued.
