Running straight, I don't stop until my face is inches from him. Waving the knife in his face, I cut his cheek and duck down before his arm could hit my face. I am crouched down when he attempts to swing a leg at me but I block it with my free hand. Pulling forward, I trip him on his back before shifting my attention to the other man who is now attempting to take unconscious Kal with him. Since his back is to me, I send a gust of air and he trips forward falling on the body of Kal he was carrying. I murmur a quiet sorry to him before focusing my attention back on the man beside me. He is groaning in pain and shouting something about a sprained back.
I hold up my hand that is holding the knife and stab it in his thigh. Shifting my weight, I rise to my knees and stab him a couple more before his cries are so deafening that I feel the need to run away.
"You fucking bitch. You will pay for this."
"Will I?" I smirk, feeling my dark side overpowering me. I haven't felt like that in a while, maybe because Kal was refraining from giving me any killing jobs. He felt like I would spiral and go on a spree, so I listened to him on this one thing.
The only other person after my father who genuinely cared for me is lying bloodied. Its like my brain needs to refresh the image every few minutes because I tend to forget what I am fighting for when I am fighting too passionately.
Is blood my only passion? No.
The other one is violence, pain and fury.
One of my stabs hit his femoral artery and when I am sure he will bleed out, I turn my focus on the man that has been holding Kal all this time.
I walk towards his side and am genuinely surprised to see tiny stems growing from the ground and holding his ankles hostage. I am pretty sure that I sent a gust of air magic and not earth magic, I have never even learnt Earth Magic, what in the world?
As the name suggests, Earth Magic is derived from earth. It can influence things like plants, soil. Just like now, one could grow any flower, vine or plant even without the weather requirements. The vines grown are filled with magic and work in accordance to the caster's will. They can prick, tie or even choke a person if the wish be.
The only person I can ask about advanced magic is my mother but if I start asking questions after all this time, it would raise questions, questions that I would rather die than face. I choose to ignore my slip and focus on the man that's being held bound before me. Since he is lying stomach down on Kal, I first pull the man back from the back of his shirt. I look sympathetically at Kal and murmur a quiet apology before promising myself to make it upto him later.
I had made up my mind to prolong the death of this one guy but I don't think I have much time. So I grab a discarded knife from the ground near me and hold him by his hair.
"Show me mercy and I will pledge my loyalty to you." The man says all of a sudden.
"Funny how you guys were calling me a bitch few moments ago." I smirk before raising a brow and pulling his head back while holding his hair. He hisses in pain and grits his teeth.
"What if I give you information. We could make it a trade." he suggests and I almost laugh out aloud.
"No thanks bud. I think I have had enough of you people for today." As soon as the words leave my lips I stab him in the neck and throw the knife to the ground. I watch as his limp body falls to the ground and I release a deep breath that I don't even know I was holding. It's riddled with my exhaustion and all that I have been through in the past few hours. I look up at the sky and smile when I see clouds gathering. Feels euphoric that they are gonna cry for a bunch of losers.
I bend down, kneeling on the ground before I take Kal's head in my arms and run my fingers through his hair. He moves in discomfort and I feel bad for putting him under a spell.
"Don't feel bad." A voice sounds behind me as a tear escapes the corner of my right eye. "He isn't under your spell. He is exhausted from losing too much blood."
I look back up and directly into my mother's cold eyes that are trained on me. Her light brown hair is tied neatly in a low bun and she is dressed in a Chanel suit. She looks sophisticated and so much more put together than I could ever hope for.
"But I used that spell…" she cuts me off.
"You did but spells don't work on him."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Nothing but its literal meaning."
"Are you hinting on something mother?"
"I am not hinting darling, I am clearly telling you. Magic and spells don't affect him."
"But he is a human, how can he shield himself against spells?"
"Maybe because he isn't a human. Would you ever look past the rose tinted glasses of yours?"
"What do you mean?"
"You are my daughter and still you are so fucking stupid."
The tinge from her words is sharp but I don't let it show on my face.
"Well, sorry to be such a disappointment." I say, sarcasm lacing my tone.
"Don't use that tone with me, young lady." She reprimands and it only makes me chuckle.
"Isn't it too late to make me into a proper lady?" I ask.
"It is indeed. And that's why you are coming home with me."
"I am not coming anywhere with you."
"May I ask why?"
"Because my friend's life is in danger and I would like to take him to the hospital."
"A friend, you say?"
"Yes."
"What is his full name?"
"What?"
"I am asking you for his full name."
"But why…" Honestly I don't know because I never bothered to ask. But I can't tell her that so I stay quiet.
"His name is Killian Richmoth."
