Chapter 5 - Interesting

Hanna was working as usual, but Adel knew there must be something bothering Hanna's mood.

"How are you feeling today? Tell me," said Adel, patting Hanna's shoulder.

"I'm still annoyed with the person who was close to me and sudden blocking me, then he said hello again. That person is annoying, it means he just wants to play with me," replied Hanna.

"Just stay away from people like that. It must be the same guy, why you're so upset?" Adel asked.

"Yes, Adel. I want to have a boyfriend, I'm tired of being single," Hanna replied.

"I know you want to have boyfriend quickly, but don't be in a hurry, you are still young. You don't know if that person is good or bad, so please be careful," said Adel.

"Okay, Adel thank you for your kind advise," Hanna replied while hugging Adel.

"your welcome,Hanna, let's get back to work. The boss will get angry if she sees us speak," said Adel.

"Yes do work together," Hanna replied.

They resumed their work again after pouring their hearts out to each other.

At Odilio's company, Edgar is struggling with other endeavours. He smiled when he saw the prospects of the application he and his colleagues had made increasement. He was curious about the app, but he was also disgusted to see many women using the app and showing sexy photos. He smirk as he looked at those who went straight to the entertainment venues and restaurants owned by his company.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door from outside. Gustav had just entered after Edgar had told him.

"Sorry, Mr. Odilio. This is a candidate who will interview with you. Her name is Betty and previously worked at the cafe of your mother's friend," said Gustav.

"Okay, please come in," Edgar ordered.

Betty entered in a tight suit and accentuated her curves making Edgar look Betty up and down with a flat gaze.

"Please have a seat. You don't have to be so tense," said Edgar.

Betty sat across from Edgar with her face as relaxed as possible.

"Morning, Mr. Odilo," said Betty.

"Good morning. I heard that you worked at the cafe of my mother's friend, why would you want to quit there? Aren't you just get a temporary break contract?" asked Edgar, raising an eyebrow.

Edgar already knew what Betty had been doing all along even though he rarely went there.

"Yes, sir. I feel I have to develop myself elsewhere. Here I applied as a cook for the employee canteen," said Betty.

"Oh, okay. Then did you have a personal problem with one of the employees, so you left?" asked Edgar.

"No, Mr. Odilio," said Betty, trying not to be nervous as Edgar stared at her.

"One more thing, I don't like lies in my company. I accept you here. Tomorrow you can work in the right kitchen clothes, not like this," said Edgar.

"Okay. Thank you Mr. Odilio," Betty replied.

"You will be contacted by human resources department for your data and salary as well for the employment contract," said Edgar.

"Okay, thank you for the opportunity you've given me, Mr. Odilio," Betty replied.

"Okay," replied Edgar.

Betty left the room after saying goodbye to Edgar. She then met with Gustav who was Edgar's assistant to be escorted to human resources department.

"Let me take you," said Gustav with a crooked smile. He was sure Edgar must have thought about having Betty here from the start.

"Mr. Gustav, what's the working environment like here? Why has everyone been silent all this time?" asked Betty.

"No one is allowed to talk here unless it's about work. You can talk when you're in the cafeteria while you're on break. One more thing, don't you ever dare to take pictures of anything in this company without the permission of your boss," replied Gustav.

"Isn't it okay to take pictures of the food too?" asked Betty.

"You want to take pictures of food in the company canteen is allowed, but remember never to take photos of the bos. He can destroy you if he finds out," replied Gustav with a flat and cold face.

"People here are very secretive. Why can't you take a picture of your boss? It's useless if you can't take a picture," Betty muttered.

Betty who had arrived at the HRD room with Gustav signed the contract and filled in the data. She had already submitted his resignation to his former place of employment.

By noon, Edgar chose lunch in his room. He is in an online meeting with his co-workers who are taking care of the Cimi application. He massaged his temples after the meeting.

"It seems interesting to see what's in the app at the moment," Edgar muttered.

He as the owner of the application certainly wants to see what is in the application by creating an account using his name, but still disguises work and home because he can not share anything about himself. Do not forget he does not post his picture, he uses a photo of his dog as a profile picture.

"There are so many women who seem to be single," said Edgar.

Edgar looked around until he was bored, but suddenly he caught sight of a girl whose face intrigued him. Her slightly chubby cheeks with a non-fake smile. He clicked on the girl's photo and then sent a message.

"Hi," Edgar said in the message.

Edgar shook his head. He felt like he was just a jobless person.

A sound indicating an incoming message is ringing. He smiled when he saw a reply from the girl he was chatting with earlier.

"Is this your real name?" asked Edgar.

"Yes, this is my real name. You can't use an artificial name. We have to enter the real name," replied the girl.

"Yes," replied Edgar.

In a small restaurant, Adel and Hanna are having breakfast together.

"Hanna, what are you doing? Something caught your eye?" Adel asked.

"Look, the dog in the photo is really cute," said Hanna.

"The dog's name is Edgar?" Adel asked.

"You're funny. When you said his dog's name is Edgar, he's a human being," Hanna replied.

"Just ask him why his profile picture is a dog," said Adel.

Hanna replied to the message from the man named Edgar while smiling.

"Are you taking a break or what? So why to join this application?" asked Hanna in the message.

The sound signalling an incoming message rang again. Hanna immediately read it.

"I just want to make friends. Do you want to be friends with me, Hanna?" asked Edgar.

"Okay, we're friends," Hanna replied.

Edgar in his office laughed looking at him who was like a man in love right now. He typed again.

"May I ask how old are you?" asked Edgar.

"I'm twenty-one, you?" Hannah asked.

"About thirty years. I have a younger brother too, he's still older than you. I feel like I have a younger sister now," Edgar replied.

"You said we are friends, why now do you think I as your sister?" Hanna asked.

"Okay, now we're friends," said Edgar.

"I'm done resting. Can you change your picture? I want to see your face, Edgar," Hanna said.

"Later," said Edgar.

"Okay," said Hanna.

"I will talk to you later, I have to work. See you, Hanna," replied Edgar.

"See you," said Hanna.

Hanna looked at Adel who smiled at him.

"Tell me later if you want to go on a date, don't get kidnapped. There are now more kidnapping cases," said Adel.

"Yes, Adel. You're a nag like my mom," Hanna replied.

"Of course I care about you, we are friend," said Adel, hugging his best friend tightly.

"Let's go back to work. We'll be fired if we don't come back," Hanna replied.

"Okay," said Adel.

They left the small restaurant and walked to the cafe where they worked.
