Abby ran some errands for Samantha and left a sticky note at the back of her phone so she would easily see it before quietly leaving for her boyfriend's house, giving the daughter and mother the privacy they needed to talk.
After Samantha had calmed down considerably, she explained everything to her grandmother, starting from Diane's betrayal to how she met Leo and everything that transpires between them. She was however surprised when her grandmother pulled her in for a hug when she was done talking.
"It's okay... I'm not angry with you. Why would I be angry when I know you would never deliberately disobey me?... Everything will be fine... We'll find a way around it okay?" Mama silver consoled Samantha while patting her back.
Samantha wasn't expecting this... She thought her grandmother would be angry and cast her out. It turned out that Abby was right after all... Grandparents give an endless supply of love and unwavering support no matter what the situation may be.
"But the fact that I'm not angry with you doesn't mean I'm happy with you..." Mama silver said firmly while Samantha looked at her with fear apparent on her face.
"When did you start keeping secrets from me!?" Mama silver demanded looking straight into Samantha's eyes.
"You unconsciously gave sexual consent to a strange man and your memory was somehow erased, yet you did not consider it an emergency!? You don't think it's worth telling me!? Would you rather die than face my wrath, Samantha!?..."
Samantha immediately raised her head and looked at her grandmother because of the way she addressed her. Mama silver never calls her Samantha, not that her grandmother hates the name given to her by her parents, she just preferred to use the one she named her with
"Grandma I'm so sorry, I..."
"No! Don't apologize to me!" Mama silver cut her off abruptly. "Promise me right now that such won't repeat itself! I didn't raise you to be stupid so don't act like a stupid child! You could have died! Do you understand that!?..." She asked sharply, pronouncing each word distinctly while Samantha nodded her head meekly.
"Although no child of mine can be used for any form of rituals, I would have known as soon as he tried to and the fool would have died immediately in the process... I'm just saying these for you to know that there are things you don't ever waste a second in telling me, alright!?" Mama silver asked and Emma nodded back.
"No Rose! Look straight into my eyes and tell me you understand everything I've said to you!"
"Yes grandma, understood! Samantha replied with fresh tears running down her eyes. Now, won't you forgive me!?" She asked meekly, moved nearer to where Mama silver was perched on the bed, and rested her head on her grandma's lap.
Mama silver's heart softens and she smiled. "It's okay now..." She said with a gentle voice. "That's enough crying for today."
"I'm not going to die and you are not going to die... Right?" Samantha asked and sniffled, looking up at her grandma with eyes that looked huge and innocent like the ones of a doe.
"Silly girl! Nobody is dying okay? It might be difficult but I'll surely find a way to solve this. I'll talk to my friend Oracle, once we're done talking and we'll see whatever steps are available for us to take to make everything right, okay!?"
Mama silver assured Samantha so her mind would be at rest but she knew deep down that whatever solution that would be available for them would not be easy as she just made it seem.
Hearing what her grandma said, Samantha suddenly got up from where she was lying and hugged Mama silver. "I love you so much, grandma!" She said fiercely.
"I love you too honey... Now sit down let's talk some more."
"Okay!" Samantha smiled, sat, and bounced on the bed happily
"So I love this Abby girl, I can tell she's from a good home. Her heart is clear and pure like spring water. She will make a good friend to you. She won't betray you halfway down the road like Diane... Not for anything will she do that to you...
When you decide to form any type of bond with someone, it means you choose to believe in that person and you're expecting the person to also share the same sentiment with you...
When the person you shared a bond with now decided to break it for no valid reason, it is better to just walk away and find other people that would genuinely value your friendship and companionship.
You shared a friendship bond with Diane. You confided in her because you already made her special in your life... But she deliberately chooses to betray you instead...
Rose, some things can be forgiven and forgotten. Some things can be forgiven and not forgotten. Sadly some things can neither be forgiven nor forgotten.
For Diane, it is the latter. As from this moment onward, I want you to sever whatever tie or love you must still be harboring in your heart for her... Am I understood? If she could betray you because of a man then she could do much worse"
"I already made that decision when I caught them in the act."
"Great! Trust is fundamental for establishing and maintaining a healthy and honest relationship and I can read from Abby's aura that she can be trusted."
"Okay, grandma... But where's she now?" Samantha asked, craning her neck like she could see outside the bedroom if she stretched her neck longer than usual.
"I don't know... Maybe she's in the kitchen?... I didn't notice her leave so check everywhere."
Samantha and Mama silver both tidied up the room and went looking for Abby together.
"Abby?..." The living room was empty so Samantha called out thinking Abby might be in the kitchen.
The kitchen was empty too. She saw her phone where it was lying face down on a paper towel with pink paper taped to its back.
"Grandma I think she left... But she left me a note..." Samantha said as she removed the note and walked out of the kitchen.
'I guess you're staying so I took the liberty of getting some of your stuff from your room, they are in the second bedroom... Hope you don't mind?
I don't come here that often, only during text and exam periods, so your staying won't be a problem for me. If you're okay with the arrangement then I guess I'll see you tomorrow then.'
Samantha finished reading the note that was signed with a cute smiley face before giving it to her grandma.
"I told you she has a good heart didn't I?" Mama silver said after she was done reading.
"I don't know... It kinda feels to me like I kicked her out of her apartment..."
"It's nothing like that trust me... I would know if that was the case." Mama silver replied with a flip of her hand.
"Go take a shower and wash those off your skin, I'm taking you to see a doctor, get you tested or treated, I don't know which is it... To do whatever doctors do in this kind of situation."
"It's PEP..."
"Huh?"
"PEP... Post-exposure prophylaxis. It means taking medicine to prevent HIV after a possible exposure. It can reduce your risk of developing an infection if started within seventy-two hours after recent possible exposure to the virus." Samantha explained dejectedly.
Never in her life would she believe she would ever find herself in such a situation when she has always kept herself chaste as her grandma had advised.
Come here..." Mama silver said and hugged Samantha close to herself.
"It's going to be fine! You're going to be okay... And his person... Whoever he is would wish he was not born by the time I'm done with him"
