The kitchens were hectic as always. Heat from the stove pit and other ovens made the whole place hot, steam rising from the cookíng pots in fire added to the heated organised food station that was the palace kítchens. Servants hurried about doing their various chores making the space a bit crowded as usual. Some serving girls could be seen lounging lazily at groups discussing and gossiping issues of some sort. The reason for this laxity wasn't too hard to guess, since Mistress Adela was not in sight.
