Carlisle stood looking up at the full moon with many thoughts running through his mind. Tonight he would reclaim his realm, but somehow he felt a little scared. Then he looked down at the bow in his hand.
He was no longer that weak god, that ran like a coward leaving his sister in the hands of that monster. He was different, and he intended to keep it that way.
His eyes then looked forward at the grandiose lavish entrance in front of him. The portal was ready and...
"Scared?" a sudden voice asked.
Carlisle turned to his left, only to see the lord impaler.
"Maybe a little" he admitted.
"You have every cause to be, but don't over think it" Zander said, and the mindler god nodded with a slight smile.
Ian came in sight.
"Are you done?" Zander asked his right hand.
"Yes, my lord" he answered.
Carlisle glanced around - isn't there going to be some of the third battalions that will escort them, or is it going to be just the three of them?
"Where are the others?" Carlisle asked.
"There are no others" Zander said.
"Is it just the three of us?" Carlisle asked - how can the three of them defeat those powerful gods.
"Absolutely." the great impaler answered as he covered his head with the hood of his jacket. Then he walked Inside the portal.
Ian covered his head also - they looked more like assassins, "Come on" he told the mindler god before he walked in.
"Just the three of us?" Carlisle whispered, thinking... is that even possible? Sometimes he really wishes to read the lord impaler mind - but ever since he first met him, he couldn't read his mind, it was like the great impaler was immune to his power.
He brought the hood of his jacket over his head, before walking into the portal.
***********************
Carlisle stepped outside the portal, only to see his realm in sight. He walked closer to the lord impaler and his right hand.
"How are we going to make it through that gate, unnoticed?" Carlisle asked, as he stared at the huge gate that was guarded by numerous warriors - Adrelhael's warriors no doubt.
Zander knew that fighting their way in would not be advisable - their aim was to take Adrelhael and his warriors down, without raising any alarm.
"I have a plan" Zander said as he and Ian turned looking at Carlisle.
"Why are you two looking at me like that?" he asked them. "What?"
One of the warriors stationed at the gate, saw three gods approaching, one was bound with a shackle.
"Halt." he said as he stood in front of them. He studied them carefully, before he said. "State your business."
Zander looked up slowly - his face hidden behind the hood of his jacket.
"I have here the son of Alfred" he said, gesturing to Carlisle.
The warrior looked stunned, "Impossible" he said as he he dragged the mindler god closer and lifted up his chin, turning it from side to side.
"It truly is him. Lord Adrelhael will be pleased" the warrior said.
"And the bounty?" the lord impaler asked.
Carlisle was amazed at how Zander was pulling this off effortlessly.
"Ah, yes it will be paid in full" The warrior assured.
"It better be, I went through a lot searching for this fool" Zander said and the warrior grinned. Then he hit his fist across Carlisle face.
He dragged him closely and said, "Idiot, you will receive the beating of your life." then he added, "Open the gate!"
The gate was drawn open immediately.
"I'll escort you in" the warrior said as he gestured for them to fellow him, and they did.
Zander glanced around as they entered inside the gate, surprisedly they were no guards patrolling inside the gate - 'Good.' Zander thought as he slowly brought out a small blade from his sleeve. He was walking directly behind that warrior, so quickly but swiftly he slit his throat.
He lay him gently on the ground, leaving the mindler to pull him to a hidden corner.
Zander and Ian went back to the gate, and one after the other they sneaked behind the warriors slitting their throats.
Then they pulled their dead bodies at a hidden corner so as not to raise any alarm.
Ian broke the shackles from Carlisle's hands.
"That was so tight" he complained as he rubbed his wrists.
They drew the gate close - and just when they were about to forge ahead, a certain warrior suddenly came in sight and saw them.
"Intru -" he didn't finish the word, as the great impaler quickly threw a dagger, that lunged on his forehead. His body dropped dead on the ground.
Carlisle exhaled, "That was close."
