The Sixth prince Damien was aware that he was in the land of the dead, his conscience has being trapped here for three days now. He wanted to return back to his body - because he just can't bear being in this horrid land any longer.
He has been walking on this lonely path that has no end - this place was too familiar for him, this was not the first time that he has found himself in the land of the dead. He was still in his thoughts, when suddenly a black raven bird flew in sight. He froze at the spot - he knew that black bird too well and he knows that whenever it appears bad things are bound to happen.
The bird flew around him, before it started to fly away.
"Wait!" Damien called as he went after the bird - he continued to follow the bird, until suddenly it disappeared. Damien glanced around in perplexity and frustration.
"Where did it go?" he asked himself. He was aware that the bird wouldn't help him in leaving this place, but...he was just desperate.
Damien shoved his fingers into his hair in frustration, "I just want to go home!" he shouted, his words echoing endlessly.
Then slowly he kneeled to the ground, "I want to go home" he whispered, as his head leaned downwards. His eyes started to water, and slowly a tear drop rolled down his cheeks before dropping on the ground.
Crying won't solve his problem now, and he knew that - so he wiped his tears, before he looked up. But he was utterly and extremely shocked by what he saw next - they was a group of people infront of him, but they were all facing backwards.
Damien didn't have the time to ponder over the questions in his head - the land of the dead was mysterious and complicated. So he stood on his feet and started to walk towards them.
"Hello" he said almost approaching them, but he didn't get a response.
"Hey -" he said as he turned one of the people to face him. He stood eyes widened with fear by what he saw - a decayed face, the person he has just turned has a rotten face. Damien started to move back slowly, and then all the people facing backwards turned to him - and they all had decaying faces!
Damien used his hands to cover his mouth, to avoid throwing up.
"Go back" they all said in unison, "go back!"
He awoke.
With eyes wide open he stared up at the white ceiling, he could feel the soft sheets on his skin - that was when he realized that he was home. Slowly he started to hear his breathing.
"He is awake, your majesty" a voice said besides him. The next thing he saw was his mother's face.
"Mother" he whispered.
Katherine smiled, "My darling. How are feeling?" she asked.
"I'm not sure" Damien answered as he slowly got up.
"Easy" Katherine said as she assisted him in getting up.
Damien grimaced, "My head, it hurts" he said. The queen turned to Damien's physician who stood at the back.
"Get the healing elixir now. What are standing there for" the queen ordered, and immediately the physician bowed before he left.
"What an idiot" Katherine stated, before she turned back to her son.
"Mother, I don't want to keep visiting that place" he said with a sullen face.
"It's part of your power. You must learn to embrace it"
"I don't want to" he admitted. Only for the queen to sigh.
"You are acting like a coward, and you know how much I hate cowards" she said staring at him with her green eyes.
"None of my sons are weaklings and you won't be an exception. Am I understood?" she asked.
Damien's face fell - this was not what he needs from his mother now. He wanted her to be tender and understanding, but instead she was cold and distant.
"Yes mother" he said, downtrodden.
