Mo Yanlin's heart pounded in his chest as he laid Liu Xiuying on the bed. The blood on her dress seeped into the sheets, but he didn't care. His hands trembled as he grabbed his phone, calling Zhen Tai with urgency.
"Send a female nurse to Liu Xiuying's apartment immediately!" he ordered.
"What's going on?" Zhen Tai asked, his voice tinged with worry.
"I don't have time to explain! Just do it!" Mo Yanlin snapped, ending the call abruptly. His eyes never left Liu Xiuying's pale face as he brushed a stray strand of hair from her forehead. His jaw tightened, and a surge of protectiveness overtook him.
Time seemed to crawl, but in less than fifteen minutes, a female nurse arrived. She hurried into the room, her medical bag slung over her shoulder.
"She just fainted from severe period cramps," the nurse said after examining Liu Xiuying. Mo Yanlin exhaled sharply, the weight of his fears easing slightly.
