Mo Yanlin's hands gripped the steering wheel lightly as he drove Liu Xiuying home. The faint hum of the car engine filled the silence between them, but neither made an effort to break it. His eyes were focused on the road ahead, while hers occasionally flickered toward him, trying to read his expression but failing to find anything other than his usual calm demeanor.
The drive was shorter than she expected, and before long, they were pulling up outside her modest apartment building. Mo Yanlin brought the car to a gentle stop and turned off the engine.
"Don't be late for work tomorrow," he said, his tone as composed as ever. His gaze briefly met hers, but he looked away before she could read any emotion in them.
"Yes, Mr. Mo," Liu Xiuying replied softly, nodding. She quickly unbuckled her seatbelt and stepped out of the car.
