[Sacred Temples Dungeon] Begin: Yes / No
Lucas tapped on
[The Crimson Thieves Gang has raided the Sacred Temples for martial arts scrolls. Clear them before they get to the grand library!]
Game on. The bots automatically ran towards the first wave of thieves who were coming their way.
"No, no. Too fast! Let Eternal Sun pull the aggro first!" As expected, none of the bots would magically follow what he said.
Having only the Basic Attack skill, all Lucas could do was swing his sword to deal damage and move around to evade attacks. Compared to killing the NPCs in his daily missions, this was a little more challenging. He had to coordinate his moves and speed up.
Although Eternal Sun didn't manage to pull the aggro, they didn't suffer badly since this was just the beginning. Sakura Meow was constantly healing them even though their HP was full.
"Sakura Meow, conserve your skills. We don't need more healing now…and take note of CD."
The bot-healer continued to heal everyone on the team.
"What a rebel…" Lucas muttered.
[Some thieves are setting a bomb in the training grounds! Hurry and stop them! Thieves who have explosives on them will explode 5 seconds after getting killed, beware!]
Unlike advanced dungeons like Secrets of the Snow Mountain, Sacred Temples was meant for beginners so the system kept feeding them instructions on what to do. Making their way to the training grounds, he tried his best to 'remind' the bots.
"Ok, easy now, bots. Remember the 5-second rule and run away after killing thieves with the bombs."
Lucas had no way to control which NPCs the bots would attack, he only prayed they didn't try to pull a stunt. Being the skillful player he was, he evaded all the danger zones and ran away in time after killing thieves carrying explosives. The bots, however, were attacking mindlessly. Whoever created these bots didn't train them to be smart enough.
None of the bots evaded the explosions so all of their HP dropped to 30%. Sakura Meow wasn't healing at all because all her skills were still cooling down. Gosh, why didn't they assign him better bots? After a close shave, they managed to make it through.
[A gang of thieves is breaking into the grand library! Hurry over and stop them!]
Following the directional arrows on the map, they reached the library where another wave of thieves was awaiting them. These thieves had red bandanas and were stronger than those they fought previously.
Checking on the DPS of each player, Lucas had an ominous feeling that he might die for the third time soon. Bots weren't capable of dealing high damage so he wasn't surprised to see himself having the highest DPS (damage per second). He had a feeling he'd be the one attracting aggro in the third wave of attacks…and he was bloody right.
A Level 10 Swordsman pulling aggro meant death, his defense was too weak to hold up against anything. The thieves ran towards him and he ran in circles to avoid getting hit. They were chasing after his ass. Lucas felt like he was starring in one of those comedic martial arts movies. Anyone watching him play right now would only laugh at the silliness of what was happening.
"Shit, would I get slain in half or something if they hit me?" he hadn't been killed by an NPC yet since he transmigrated. Heck it, running around in circles wasn't going to work. He'd died and revived again when the stupid Bashers killed him so it probably worked the same if he died in a dungeon, hopefully.
"Basic Attack, I'll count on you now!" he stopped running and fought like a mad swordsman who didn't know how to use his sword. The thieves with the red bandanas began to attack him but despite seeing his HP drop continuously, Lucas didn't feel pain or receive any wounds.
"Cool, my virtual body is bulletproof."
The thieves with red bandanas dealt higher damage and Lucas was close to dying after suffering a few hits. Being a tank was no easy feat.
"Sakura Meow, your CD should be gone by now! Heal!"
For once, the bots were 'listening' to him. Sakura Meow was healing! His HP increased at snail's pace by 3%, 5%, 8%…it was better than nothing.
Meanwhile, the other three bots were on the brink of death. Sakura Meow was trying very hard to heal them.
Moonlight Reaper's name was the first one to grey out.
"I salute you, mage. May you revive and join us soon."
With one bot down, it was more taxing on them to clear the thieves. Players who died in dungeons revived back at the starting point of the dungeon map so it would take Moonlight Reaper some time to make his way back to where they were now. And sometimes these bots don't function properly or end up getting stuck somewhere.
Sunshine123 was the next one to fall. Though Moonlight Reaper had returned to battle, it made no difference. Lucas was close to dying again and Sakura Meow was standing there, doing nothing. He was down to only 10% HP but there was no sign of movement from her. Her default non-smiling bot expression seemed to be saying "Die, you lowly newbie."
"5..4..3..2….1, goodbye bots." his name greyed out. Running out of HP, he fell to the ground and lay there. Unable to move, he had to wait 15 seconds before he would be revived and brought back to the starting point.
15 seconds later.
In a flash, Lucas was transported back to the entrance of the Sacred Temples. He knew it was just a matter of time before the others bots would die and join him back here, so he might as well wait for them.
He thought about leaving the dungeon, kicking the bots out of his team and maybe he'd be assigned 'smarter' bots. But that also meant he'd have to clear the first two waves of attacks all over again. If he remained here and continued with his current team, they'll just need to clear the third wave of attackers and go straight for the boss.
A short while later, the bots died and joined Lucas at the starting point. Like soldiers who had been cast with a spell, they ran automatically to the library to clear off the enemies. This time, Eternal Sun should be able to pull the aggro.
"Guys, I mean, bots. Let's do us proud!"
And they were back to clearing the thieves with red bandanas. They seemed more experienced now, except for Sakura Meow who never healed at the right moment.
"Milktealover, where are you…" he missed his favorite Healer.
After rounds of arduous attacks, they finally eliminated all the thieves in the third wave of attacks.
[The leader of the Crimson Thieves, Sabre, is holding the temple guardians hostage inside the grand library. Defeat him and restore peace to the temples!]
Fighting the boss of the dungeons worked differently - revivals were not allowed. Any player that died would just lay on the ground till the others finish off the boss or die altogether. If they failed to kill the boss, that's it. They'd have to re-enter the dungeon and begin all over again from the first wave of attacks.
"Bots, we can make this happen. Don't die on me now!"
