It's early the next morning, and we are discussing Clair having a dog of her own.
"I really think if I got a female, Hercules would be happier." She grinned. "Or a male for him to play with."
"I'm not opposing the idea. I'm just thinking about it." I said thoughtfully. "It might help with him being so upset right now." Damon was like his best friend. They have seen each other everyday since I got him. You know Damon always showed up at the trailer.
I remember the day I got Hercules.

3 years ago:
"Alright Clair, I don't care what it looks like I want a male. If there are no males, walk away." I reminded her.
She looked at me. With all her excitement she announced. "The perfect dog will be in this litter I just know it."
I giggled while getting out and shaking hands with the owner of the pups. I looked over at them. Yes they are all solid white pups. So gorgeous, and healthy.
"What are they and are there any males?" I asked.
He smiled. "Full blooded albino bully. This is the last male." When he picked him up, and showed me, I was in awe of him. He was so huge, furious, and cute. I loved him. He couldn't have fit in just one of my hands. He has all pink gums and tongue, with the cutest smile on his face.
Clair immediately grabbed him. "Octavia I told you the perfect dog was here." She smiled. "This is him Hercules." His tail starts wagging with a big grin on his face. He barked at me. There was something in his eyes telling me this is the one I want. He's perfect.
The man looked at us. "Well I'll be. That pup hasn't been this excited since he got his mom's tit for the first time." He chuckled. He's an old man. With a straw hat, overalls, and a piece of grass hanging out the side of his mouth.
"Here." I handed him the cash. Then I turned to Clair, reached in my pocket, grabbed the black collar and handed it to her. "Here is his collar."
She looked at me with her jaw on the floor. "For real?"
"Yes, next stop the vet." I said seriously, and turned and walked to the car. "You coming? I got to get his shots."
"Yes" She said, running to the car, with Hercule cradled in her arms.
15 minutes later we pulled up at the vet. We get out and walk up to the door and go in. The vet's office was blue everything. I walked up to the counter and checked us in. 30 minutes later we were in the back with hercules filling out paperwork.
I shocked Clair when I slid the paperwork over to Clair and told her to sign. She gave me a funny look.
"If anything happens to me you take him. You have paperwork to prove he's yours too. I trust you won't let anything bad happen to him." I smiled at her.
I turned the paperwork back in after I signed and Clair signed. The vet walked out with hercules.
"Your healthy boy, what's his name?" The vet asked me.
"Hercules, and thank you." I walked over to the receptionist and paid for the visit.
We left and took him home to see his new home. He's been with me ever since. Not a day goes by that I have not seen his face.

I smiled at Clair. "Let's do it! Let's get another dog."
"Yes!" She shouted. Then squealed so loud I had to cover my ears.
She covered her mouth. "I'm sorry." Then she started laughing, so had to, I started laughing too.
We started looking at ads on the internet about pups around us. We were maybe 15 minutes in when she found a promising lead.
So we headed out to go see them. They are 45 minutes out from where we are at the house.
When we got there, there were only two puppies, and they were males. Clair doesn't want a male she wants a female. So we headed to the next place I saw this one on the way to the other house. When we get there no luck again, again, and again still no luck.
"Ok maybe it was just not meant for me to have a dog. Maybe we should just give up." Clair said. Looking a bit sad.
"There is always tomorrow." I said trying to make her feel better. It must have worked because she didn't look quite as sad.
That night I went straight to take a shower and then to bed. I lay there thinking about Damon. Oh how I miss that wolf. With his goofy self I regret not hanging out with him more there for about 3 months before we left. I had all but completely quit hanging with him. Now I'm regretting it. I miss him.
I wish I could meet his human self. I know if that ever happens I'd be gone for good. I can't trust any of them. Damon is the only one I can trust, and I can't trust him, because he called his pack on me. Honestly I don't know why I trusted him in the first place. But I feel like I never have to worry about anything with him around. Like nothing will ever go wrong.
My guardian angel is gone. I left him behind! I thought with tears forming in my eyes. Why? Why did I leave him? I'm so stupid.
I lay there crying so hard I'm hiccuping. I cry and cry for my guardian angel til I fall asleep.
The next morning, I wake up to Clair yelling "Octavia I got a lead. Get up, let's go get me a puppy!!!!"
"Ok. Ok. Ok." I get up, get ready and we head out. Another morning without a run. I sigh, and get in the car. I got to get this girl on a schedule with running.
I look at our new house, it overlooks the woods. I love it. It's secluded and beautiful. With a front porch and a back porch. A huge sized yard with a few shade trees and lilies planted everywhere.
We head out. It's actually a short distance away. About 10 minutes and we made it there. We pull up and get out.
Clair runs up to the door and knocks. A nice looking woman answered the door. "You hear about the puppies?" She asked with a knowing smile.
"Yes ma'am." Clair said grinning.
The woman opens the kennel by the door and 5 puppies run out. They all looked so cute. One of them even smiled at her, another growled. They were all blue and white, except one, it's a girl, solid blue.
Out of all of them. There was just one that stood out. She stood back waiting patiently for the other puppies to move. So I came in for a distraction. Because I believe that's the one she's looking for. She'll never see her without me distracting them.
I squat down and call them all. The pup just stood back and waited for the others to move. Then she walked up to Clair, and it was over. She fell in love with the pup.
"This one!" Clair said, while pulling money out of her pocket, and paid the woman. She then grabbed the pup and walked away with it. The pup liked her arms with her tail wagging. Clair hollored a "Thank you." Over her shoulder and a "you can drive" to me. With that she was done.
"She has a lot of patients." I said to her, making sure she knew how into Clair that pup was. "She waited on all those other pups to get done before she got up and went to you."
Clair looked at the bundle of joy with a big smile on her face. "Patients." She declared. "That's her name. Do you like it?"
"I love it." I reassured her. For the rest of the ride home, she laughed and played with the pup. Patients, I like it. It fits her. She's calm and mellow. That just makes it fit her more.
So we pulled up at home and headed inside to let Hercules meet her, but he never comes out of his room. So I let her run into his room, which is beside my room. I heard him growl and my heart dropped. I ran in there, but they were playing. He's so happy, and that look is back in his eyes.
I smiled to myself. I got my dog back out of this deal. Win win, I guess. Hercules walks up to me and smiles. Yep, I think, I got him back.
