Bernard.
Well, l have never thought of leaving outside my parent's house as a wolf until l met Jason last week when my eyes met with his fleck red-violet eyes, my cheeks satiated with his stares, he came in a group of four and brought all the stocks with had for the day and still requested for more.
It felt so good to have met him as it felt like it wasn't the first time we had met, like we were familiar with each other in our past lives.
We talked for a couple of days as he would come by the shop every day, he would sometimes help me or help with the deliveries as we ship them illegally in and out of every four nights in a week.
He is still the first to buy me flowers, Mother sells them so l don't find anything special about them but it was thoughtful and overwhelming and my heart liked it, I thought l was being too attached to him think, especially over the week.
A few days later l realised that he is the Great Alpha of Autumn Pack, the most beautiful season under the Moon, the biggest that is sometimes rumoured to be a trait of the Lycans family.
We get along so well, and he begged to meet with my parents and l didn't hesitate to inform my mother about it. Meriam doesn't feel excited as she hates his guts, but l like him and he makes me happy.
" So are you both together or something? "Father teased sarcastically and I quickly said no.
" We are just friends, Father, " l said.
"Maybe soon, Mr Aldous, " Jason announced which had me rolling my eyes at him.
Jason is an Alpha of a great Pack, someone like him already has a Mate ordained for him, and immediately Father and Mother know that he is a wolf, not just an ordinary wolf like myself they will dismiss him effectively.
Thankfully that Mother didn't ask alot of personal questions that might be uncomfortable as l told him to his identity away from my parents, they won't like the idea.
"You should stay the night, Jason, it's too late for you to go home." mother confessed.
"No, it's not a problem Mrs Racher, l would love to stay but maybe some other time, right Bernard? " He scoffed, glaring at me seductively.
"I guess, l guess so Mother, l will see him off." I retorted feverishly, breaking the heat as l went on my feet immediately.
"What did you do that for and In front of my parents?"
"It's nothing, Bernard, Our Kind don't mind our heart flirting with the one we like."
"But my parents are not our Kind, l will appreciate it if you don't do that next time."
"So does it mean there is a next time to have dinner with your parents?"
"They seem to like you alot, maybe yes, except Meriam is a little just so so."
"What about you, Bernard, what do you think about me? And when do you plan to visit my Pack?"
"I rather not, at least not yet," I said sincerely, l took a step back and leaned on the door as Jason walked very close to me, he tugged my hair behind my ear gently, getting it out of my face, l tickled frantically at the touch of his fingers against my face.
"I'm not in a hurry, Bernard, you can come anytime, what is mine is yours and what is yours is mine," He said, baking his lips against mine.
I stood mindlessly trying to understand why l didn't push him away either, rather l just there and let him do it, knowing fully well that he just stole my first kiss.
"I will see you tomorrow Bernard," He whispered and l nodded agreeably, as he was about to go on his way a familiar voice called my name.
"Who are you? If you are looking for stocks you have to wait till tomorrow, we will have fresh supplies." I said to the cute fragile looking girl in her late twenties, her green eyes with the grey colour of hair mixed with other different colours, her way of dressing were like she was from a different continent, one l have never seen before, the numerous beads in her hand's made a lot of sense like l have seen them before but l wasn't sure where, maybe somewhere in my dream, her voice was faintly cheerful and innocuous, like it wasn't the time l time she had to call me in my life.
The disappointment on her face when l asked a question that is taking all her life to answer as she stares deeply into my eyes like she is looking for answers.
"I think you might have come to the wrong house, corny one," Jason muttered glaring bitterly at the girl that came.
"My name is Athena, Bernard, we are best friends, l mean, l have been looking everywhere for you." She said.
"He doesn't know who you are, you should leave at once." Jason howled at Athena, and I have never seen him this agitated towards anybody.
"You should go inside, Bernard, " Jason said gesturing his head for me to leave, Athena doesn't seem like a threat to me, l have seen her before, l am sure l have seen her, but I'm not sure if we are best friends as she claims.
"What do you want?" I asked her ignoring Jason's warnings, he doesn't seem pleased by her side, but l feel nothing but peace.
"I need to talk to you, in private, and secondly, l don't have anywhere to go, l travelled a long distance to get here."
"Did you see a tavern sign on your way in?" Jason replied nonchalantly.
"Do you have a problem with me shithead?" Athena retorted annoyingly, wait, why are they bickering at each other.
"Did you both by any chance know each other? " l asked, gesturing my fingers in an X sign.
"Yes, " Athena replied.
"I don't know her, Bernard."
"What is the commotion about Bernard, it's late for crying out loud," Meriam complained as she pulled the door open.
"She? I saw her at the market earlier, did you follow me here? She seems like a stalker, what do you want from us?" Meriam snarled.
"Don't talk to her like that Meriam, Jason you should go ahead, l will see you tomorrow, l will take care of this," l said smiling with little or no idea of what to do, Athena won't take her eyes off my face.
"I won't leave until she does," Jason answered back
"I don't intend for her to leave, she can stay the night, it's late at night, where can she go?"
"Father will not allow that," Meriam warned.
"I will explain to him later."
"You cannot do that Bernard, l can't allow that, she can stay at my Pack if she has nowhere to go, there are enough spare rooms in my house."
"I can stay in Meriam's room while she stays in mine, our house is enough, thank you for your concern Jason, but l want to help her, come in, Athena, you can stay the night and leave tomorrow."
"Thank you, Bernard."
" You will be scolded for this, l can't help you, I'm going to bed," Meriam said.
"How do you feel disobeying me in front of a total stranger? You would rather believe her than me? " Jason said disappointedly.
"I just thought l did the right thing."
