Chapter 27 - Chapter 27 - Teacher's Students.

Shawn slowly opened his eyes to find himself in his room, and there seemed to be something wrong at first.

Then he realized that the alarm of his room wasn't ringing. His eyes opened clearly and he felt the area of his bed where his head rested on especially his pillow was wet.

He stared at the figure who stared at him back with narrowed eyes and crossed eyebrows.

"Good morning mum" he said while gulping midway.

"Oh good morning son. I was just wondering when you will wake up from dreamland to get your siblings ready for school as well as yourself" Emily said as she stared right back at her son.

Unable to take the might of the stare, Shawn knew that he had messed up and he was obviously not ready to hear the next line.

"Owwwww!!!" He shouted as he reached his hands towards his ankle.

Emily panicked and was just about to say something but then one of her eyebrows raised.

Shawn took the opportunity to jump off his bed and run to the bathroom. Leaving Emily who clicked her tongue.

"You nearly had me there," She chuckled.

In the bathroom, Shawn placed his hands under the sink and started using the water to wash his face.

"**** what was I doing sleeping for that long?" He said.

He had missed his alarm that his mom had to sprinkle a lot of water on his face to wake him up.

"I have to ask the system, what is happening to me?!" he exclaimed.

He has to rush his morning activities to get ready for school. At the last minute, he ran out of his room, carried his bag which he had arranged since the previous day and ran into the dining room downstairs, before sitting down on the table and quickly ate his lunch.

"You better don't stuff yourselves like a pig or else your father's gonna send you to the gym" Emily cautioned.

"It's alright. At least I'll grow stronger and...."

"Mummy! Come and feed me!" Stacy cried out.

Emily and Nick who sat on the table burst into laughter as soon as they heard Stacy's voice.

"Sweetie. Don't you want your big brother to feed you? " Emily asked.

"Its mummy that Stacy wants!" The girl cried.

Fifteen minutes later, Shawn carried little Stacy into the car outside of the house.

Nick, who was all dressed up for work, sat down in the driver's seat and waited for the siblings to take their seats.

He turned the keys and the engine started, the car was driven from the house on the school of Shawn. Shawn had woken up thirty minutes after the timer and it was a little close to the time for the bell to be rung when he arrived.

After getting out of the car and bringing Stacy out of the back seat to the ground. "Bye bye daddy!" Stacy said as she turned to wave a hand at Nick.

"Bye sweetie, see you soon" Nick replied with a smile before he drove off. Shawn was headed towards Stacy's class when he heard a voice.

"Hey Shawn wait up"

Shawn turned his back and saw three figures approaching him. It was Harry, Stephanie and Charles who were just coming to school.

"I am surprised to see that you are just coming here to school today when you come way earlier than the rest of us" Harry said.

"Oh well, it's a long story," Shawn replied as the four of them walked to Stacy's class and dropped her off. "Bye sis" Shawn waved as he and his friends walked away.

Stacy just waved back and turned to walk into her class.

"What a snub" he scoffed.

Shawn and the trio walked into the classroom where they all dropped their bags onto their chairs and took their notes and went to the hall as the bell had been rung the moment their bags had been dropped.

Shawn and the rest of the trio entered the hall to start the assembly with the other students. By the time the assembly was over, all the students sat in their chairs for the beginning of the first class and that was mathematics.

The door opened as a figure walked into the class with a number of books that showed equations and drawings of mathematical instruments.

The mathematics teacher Mr Roberts walked into the class and dropped the books on the table. "Good day students. Hope you all enjoyed your night?" He said.

The students from their seats replied "Good day sir. Our night was a pleasant one"

So today, we are going to pick off right from where we stopped" Robert said as he began teaching the class using a marker and a board.

When it was 10 minutes to the ending of the class, Robert turned from the board and looked at the figures that were seated.

"Those who failed to submit their homework should please stand up" He said.

From the classroom, the students that had not submitted their homework rose up as he requested. Roberts stared at the students for a while "I have a challenge for you all" He said.

"Class rep!"

From the seats of those who had completed their homework, a tall figure whose name was Tony Brandon stood up.

"Record the names of those who are standing," Roberts instructed.

"The challenge I have for you all is that those of you that are standing here should pair up with those who are sitting down and learn the topics that I have taught you in class.

So as not to make you fail, there will be a test for those who have not been submitting homework and another one that will be general. Pick someone to pair up with so that it can be noted down by the class rep.

For those that you have chosen to pair with, you will have to receive lessons from them concerning aspects of the lessons and topics that you do not understand in class"

He then pointed to one of the students that was standing. "Who do you pick as your partner to pair up with for reading?"

The student looked around before facing him and saying the name of a student that was seated. The course rep Tony wrote the names down with his pen as the standing students called out the names of students who were sitting.

The students were going to teach their fellow students so that they could be more sound in mathematics.

By the time that Mr Roberts pointed to richard, the latter replied "Shawn Roland"

Shawn who was flipping the pages of his notes felt nauseous instantly.

"Anybody but this guy. I do not want to be infected with his level of unseriousness," he thought.

Mr Roberts hesitated for a moment before he looked at Richard and asked "Are you sure Richard Dawson?"

"Yes Sir. I am sure" Richard replied.

"Tony record it then,"

After the round of calling names and students, Mr Roberts proceeded to talk on the consequences of this new engagement.

"Should you fail the test that I plan to give to you, the. just note that the names of those you have called out will also have penalties in their test" Robert added.

Shawn felt like he had just been sent into a volcano that was going to erupt "Sir!" He called while raising his hand.

"Yes Shawn what is it?"

"Is it possible for the student that teaches to change the student that has chosen him/her" Shawn asked.

"It is possible, only if the student has seen that you are not committed or worthy of teaching him/her or if you have noticed signs of unwillingness to learn. If after consistent complaints and the test comes then there will be no reason to deduct your marks" Robert answered Shawn's question.

"So for now, you will still have to wait before you walk into my office to change the student that assigned themselves to you," Roberts then began to pack the textbooks on the table and left.

The Students placed their handwriting materials back into their bags and brought out a new note. It was time for the History Class.

Shawn could only feel a bit of annoyance that refused to be swallowed down his throat. He just wanted to avoid having anything to do with the bully of the class that many people were trying to pick on and sucking up to as well.

The History Teacher Mrs Pearl walked into the class. She greeted the students and received greetings back.

"Today we shall be discussing the civilizations of the Nile" She said as the students pressed the button on their tables as their chairs began turning to the screen at the back of the class.

Mrs Pearl connected the projector to her computer and played the videos that she had stored for the class onto the screen from the projector.

The students listened intently to the videos and wrote down what they could process and record. By the time the class was almost over, they had watched three videos detailing the civilizations of the Nile.

"Now as homework. I want you all to do further research on this topic and prepare a write-up on what you have managed to grab from these videos and your research" She said.
