Chapter 21 - Chapter 20

Hide took in a sharp breath, before nodding.

"While your paint was drying that day, she flew down into the cave, while Tsuki were sleeping. I asked what she wanted, and she simply answered that she wanted me dead. When I asked why she said, and I quote: 'Hide can't hang out around you guys. I've been watching him for a while, even before you low lives decided to travel here. I've been following him since the Queen announced his hatching to her allies. You poor dragons are just on his charity. He feels bad for you two. Especially you, Takashi. You're nothing. In fact, you're a mutt. A crossbred mess. Of course, you're on his charity! He feels bad. I'll cut to the chase, instead of plainly insulting you. I need you dead by the time Hide leaves. I don't care how, but I want you out of the picture. I have royal blood like him, I'm the only one able to be on his level of intellect. Impale yourself, fall, hang yourself, I really don't care how you do it, just get it done.' After that, she flew back to you with some corn from her bag like nothing had happened." Takashi explained.

"Tsuki? What did she say to you." Hide asked, his mouth letting out a bucket-ton of smoke.

" She told me to try and convince you to stay with us, to make it look more believable I did as she asked for only one reason. I didn't want to die. She threatened to send me and Takashi to the Queen, and claim we were there to break the alliance our kingdoms have." Tsuki squeaked, seeming terrified as she looked behind Hide.

Hide looked behind him, seeing Kinkijou arrive, her scales turning a bright teal color.

"Who are these dragonets?" She quizzed, smiling at Tsuki and Takashi.

"The dragonets from the prophecy. The dragonet with the blessing of A bird, and the moon, is Tsuki, and the dragonet red as fire, and as big as the sun itself, is Takashi. We're thinking of finding a new dragonet, small and pale, from the kingdom of sand." Hide said.

"You're fulfilling this prophecy too early, young one! You cannot begin it just yet!" Kinkijou exclaimed, making the ground shake beneath her talons.

"Why not. We're just following you're prophecy. What's so wrong with starting it early?" Hide asked.

"This prophecy is dangerous. Starting it too early can lead to disaster we've never seen." She claimed.

"If I may, would you be so kind as to recite it, so we're all on the same page?" Tsuki asked.

Lady Kinkijou sighed, then turned to face Hide.

"Do you remember what I said? My prophecies cant be recited too close together. The information would get sloppy." She asked.

Hide nodded, his eyes seeming droopy.

"Do I have to? It's embarrassing." He said.

"Not really. Although false information in a prophecy wouldn't be good, would it." She said.

"Finnnneeeee" Hide groaned

"So the prophecy basically goes like this. 'One dragon, with the dragons of choice, will start the war. The war to end them all. The war to kill millions, and destroy clans, and kingdoms alike. The war to bring on new lives, the war to bring on a new prophecy. A new legacy of dragons meant to kill him, and his associates. A dragon, small and pale, from the kingdom of sand, shall bring him wisdom. A dragon red as fire, and as big as the sun itself, will provide fierce protection from the kingdom of fire. A dragon as amber as ore will provide tireless nights and wealth from the kingdom of the swamp. A dragon with shifting scales to adapt to sea and air will provide knowledge of the continent, And finally, a dragon with the blessing of a bird, and the moon, will come from the kingdom of the night to provide stealth. These dragons will help the dragon, willing to start the war. These dragons will bring doom to our nation, that many call home. This male will bring chaos and discord wherever he goes. The god of this world will make her decision whether to kill him or spare him; when the time is right. With these dragons, the male in question; will kill the god we all call Kania, and take her kingdom, status as a god, and the continent we call our own. He will go on to destroy other continents. And when the time comes, Kinkijou of the rainforest will die, as her thousands of years as a demigod, will sink to an end.' I'm quoting the master herself." Hide said, as he stretched his wing to point at Kinkijou.

"So, what your telling me, is that we may go to the kingdom of mud? And wealth is there? We've found Takashi, our dragon of fire, and me, the dragon blessed with the moon, and a bird, but who's our small, yellow dragon? It's not Tai, clearly. But who will it be? Same with the dragon of the mysterious male the prophecy revolves around. There are holes in this thing that I don't like." Tsuki said.

"Well, it feels obvious that our male in the prophecy is Hide. The male with endless rage, to bring on another generation's prophecy to kill him? That seems like Hide. He has an energy of pure anger all the time. It only feels natural." Takashi guessed.

"True, but he's never been hostile to us, ever. What would drive him to such lengths?" Tsuki asked.

"Well, I may not have much say, but he attacked our queen. Once he realized how to use his power, he camouflaged in his surroundings and attacked her. It was a side of him I had never seen, and with him being hostile in the prophecy, I just thought I'd say something." Tai spoke up.

"Shut the fuck up, you insolent pile of scales." Takashi snapped.

Tai'd sage green eyes lit with anger.

"I'm confused! I never said anything you claimed! For the moon's sake, I've thought nothing but highly of you dragons. I thought surely one touched with the serpent curse would understand how I felt. How I've suffered. But all you dragons wish to do is complain and bark orders." Tai cried.

"You've only caused more problems for us. You have done nothing but lie and manipulate us. I'm sorry Tai, but I don't think they're willing to have a decent conversation with you at the moment." Tsuki explained.

"Pardon me, but who do you four think you are? I've forbidden you three to leave if you planning on fulfilling the prophecy. You WILL listen to you're god." Lady kinkijou barked.

"Too fucking bad." Takashi spat.

"I hate to be rude, but I have never heard of you before. To me, you're just a dragon with a god complex." Tsuki chimed, an innocent smile on her face.

Lady Kinkijou had an awestruck look on her face. Her tail began twitching as she opened her large mouth, a pair of sharp fangs emerging from the gums like a snakes would.

"I will make sure none of you leave my temple. I'll unleash the power of a thousand winds upon you dragonets, keeping your scales embedded into the ground you stand on. I'll make sure your names are erased from time entirely. Hell, I'll go so far as to smite you dragonets where you stand. Anything to keep my death from approaching.." Lady Kinkijou threatened.

"So you're telling me that there isn't any danger from beginning the prophecy early, there's only danger when you're death is involved? Are you serious?" Tai asked.

"I don't wish to die! I'm an immortal dragon! I don't deserve death from your talons so soon! I've been STUCK as a damn statue for years. I want to finally live." She barked.

"If you are immortal, how can you die from our talons? Seems kind of futile to do such a thing, if you can't die." Hide quizzed, squinting at Lady Kinkijou as her tail twitched.

"A special enchantment can kill a dragoness like me. It's called the 'Serpent's venom' It's a poisonous plant, that's been enchanted by another curse. The continent of Solia has a new curse for every new clan. Kingdoms have enchantments, that have been refined and tested on dragonets to be sure it lives in their lineage. If the dragonet survives the enchantment, a new generation of dragons with special abilities, or birth defects are born. Hence this bird-looking dragonet." Lady Kinkijou explained, her tail flicking towards Tsuki.

"Why would you tell us about the countercurse that can kill you? It's just plain stupid." Takashi said, his tail swaying.

"Fuck." Lady Kinkijou cursed, her eyes widening.

"Well, it's not like you dragonets can get ahold of it. Only the kingdom of flames has Possession of the curse. Do you know how they have barbed tails? The curse is hidden within there, like venom. And by the looks of you all, you don't seem to have a dragonet of flame. I would be worried about you, but you have darker shades of color than the rest. You don't seem to be a part of their tribe." Lady kinkijou said, smiling with this cocky grin.

Takashi's jaw clenched, as he rose his tail for everyone to witness. Surely enough, he had a long pointed barbed tail end, that looked like a long spear. He flashed a grin to Lady Kinkijou, his amber eyes hiding a sort of anger deep within.
