His Prussian blue, pearlescent scales were shimmering in the clear daylight sky. All eyes were on him. It was like they were hypnotized. But they had forced themselves to resist it over time. The dragon flying in the sky was a menace to their village. A king, but a menace. Someone no one could stand to trust. But why would he be one of the worst dragons in his kingdom? He had made his Kingdom a home for all dragonets from all over the continent of Solia. So why was he so disrespected? What had this dragon done? You would think the other dragons would admire him, if nothing else, but for his beauty. The kingdom of moon was a very wealthy kingdom. Filled to the brim with all sorts of resources, like better farmland, better jewels, just better in general. Every dragonet wanted to be him, and everyone wanted his wealth. But to explain it all, we need to start from the very beginning. The story of Hide Yashira, on a quest for eternity, and power.
A black dragon with white spots, looking like freckles flew up to him. His gaze was cold, and dead. Like someone had killed what brought them joy a long time ago. He stared down at the blue dragon, his indigo eyes giving him a seemingly disgusted look.
"Sir Hide. I apologize for greeting you during your leisure activities, but I'm going to have to take you to the police cloud. I'm sure you know the way." He said, launching himself in the air, waiting for the prince to follow him.
"Why. I'm just flying around the kingdom. There's nothing I'm doing wrong." Hide hissed.
"We have a visiting kingdom on the rocks, and I'm not allowing your assassination to haunt me." The older dragon said, glaring at the young prince.
Hide reluctantly launched himself off of the palace spire, and up to a dark gray tower, just to the right of it, where hundreds of thousands of pillars stood, dragons stood and sat on them, looking defeated. The shackles stuck to their Front paws, back paws, and clenches, that kept their wings from extending, looking painful. The police cloud was built as a guard station, with every guard being able to find any of the prisoners flying away. No one could escape, with the guards being able to watch every single imprisoned dragon's move.
Hide flew up to the cloud, looking annoyed. As they landed, the guard escorted him to a dark room, where he would be comfortable while he would wait for hours, before his mother came to get him.
A few hours went by, before Hide heard steps coming towards the room, followed by the blinding light of the outside. The black dragon in front of the door bowed, his wings drooping on the floor, and his ears sunken down in respect. Hide rolled his eyes at his mother's entrance. His mother was wearing five necklaces made of pure silver, and gold. On the three gold neck pieces, were emeralds and pearls. And on the silver wing pieces, there were sapphire, and aquamarine studs all over the edge of the wing.
"Arison. Stand. You look disgusting when you bow like that." She said, waving a claw at him.
"Yes Queen Kastra." He said, quickly rising to his paws, and standing like he's been for the past four hours.
"As for Hide. What did he do now." She said firmly, while staring at Him.
"Your grace, May I put in a personal note during my analysis?" Arison asked, looking nervous.
"If you must. Just know I had to skip a very important meeting to be here for him. Plus, the queen of the ocean kingdom is coming by later to discuss an alliance. I had to miss out of preparations, Arison. " she said, looking down at him.
"Your grace. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I strongly believe that your son needs correction. He's been in the police tower for as long as he's been alive. Maybe it's time to cut back on his time outside of the palace and give him more studies. Or he could possibly go to an allied kingdom, and spend a few years there to learn about respect for one's kingdom? He's been negligent in his duties, and cutting classes. When pressing his personal dragoness, she said that he'd been chatting with her, constantly about death, and dragons suffering at his claw." Arison proposed.
"As much as I like the idea of Hide going to study abroad for some years, what if I fall ill and die? Who'd take my thrown in his place?" She said, her jewels glistening.
"My Queen, I would gladly take his place for a year or two. I've read thousands of scrolls on a royal's duty while their alive." He said, expressionless.
Queen Kastra thought for a moment. She seemed hesitant.
"Arison. As much trust as I've bestowed onto you, I don't trust you enough to run an entire empire by yourself. And after that incident with that dragonet two years ago, I'm not trusting you as well for a hard while. The answer is no. Now release my son, and move on with it," she said, smoke now coming out of her nostrils.
Hide quickly scrambled to his talons as he saw his mother leaving the room. His mother swayed her tail with grace as she made her way out, and to the glass doors. She quickly walked through them and shot herself into the air. Her dark scales fading into the darkness of the oncoming night.
Hide flew back to the Palace, watching lights flicker on across the kingdom. The kingdom at night was lit up by a rare species of glowworm that ate bacteria on certain rock. Specifically, Silverstone, Limestone, Quartzite, And granite. The palace was made out of Silverstone, and Quartzite, with a lavish entrance made from marbled tile. Hide watched the large black doors open for him and his mother.
As they stepped in, Hide's mother turned to him, with an aggravated look . She huffed out dark smoke from her nostrils.
"Hide. How many times have we spoken about this? The police tower makes our kingdom look bad. PLUS, that's not even mentioning the talk about death with your therapist. How fucked up do you have to BE, Hide." She said, huffing out more smoke.
"Mother, your stupid guard took me into the police cloud when I was admiring our kingdom and it's workers, on the west spire. AND, you literally TRAINED me to know ALL about war, and the deaths that had to be made in order for our Kingdom to grow into the wealthy success story it is today." Hide said, his tail stretching slightly
"He must have made a mistake. I apologize. However, you're not off the hook just yet young sir. We need to have a discussion." She said, her expression turning soft.
Hide gave a confused head shift, before nodding, to allow his mother to continue speaking.
"Well, my son, I've decided to send you to marry the Princess from the Kingdom of Sea" she said, flapping her wings with glee.
