SCENE: FIFTEEN
AN EYE OPENER
(After the conversation she had with the
king. Shaniqua notices that its 4:00 p.m,
then heads to the library)
Prince Jaden: (smiling) I thought you'll
never come
Shaniqua: well here I am. By the way I
am Shaniqua, the princess of the
Kalahari kingdom.
Prince Jaden: A princess? How come, I
mean my father usually kills the kingdom
leaders before capturing its people how
come you're left out.
Shaniqua: my question is how come you
know that your father in a killer but still
do nothing about it?
Prince Jaden: In which planet are we?
Shaniqua: Earth, what does that have to
do with your father's actions?
Prince Jaden: exactly, you think good
things are meant for saints? well
everyman does all it takes to put bread
on the table. It's not like they weren't
going to die, he just makes it easy for
them. After all African countries aren't
capable, they know nothing about
business and economy so why does it
hurt helping out.
Shaniqua: help? Just because their
lifestyles are different doesn't mean
they are incapable. We've got our own
culture our roots and every action we
make is for unity not repenting. We
don't need to be changed, you people
should leave us and our lands alone.
How would you feel if the same thing
was done to you?
Prince Jaden: (sad) The last time I heard
those words my mother was killed.
Shaniqua: what do you mean?
Prince Jaden: my mother was against my
father's actions so my father ended up
killing her. He referred to her as a
distraction that restricts him from
achieving his goals
Shaniqua: Well sorry for that. Now tell
me, how do you think your mother feels
about everything that is happening here,
what do you think your mother thinks of
you? Is she proud?
Prince Jaden: she told me repeated
times that I should not be like my father
Shaniqua: I know this doesn't sound
great but let's join forces and try to fix
his mistakes
Prince Jaden: you mean we should kill
him?
Shaniqua: what? No, I wouldn't do that I
mean we should fight for freedom. War
is never won by fight but by wisdom.
Prince Jaden: meaning?
Shaniqua: please talk sense in to his
head, ask him about your mother, try to
make him see his wrong actions.
Prince Jaden: Shaniqua I don't wanna die
like my mother, that man clears
everyone who stands in his way without
second thoughts. It's late now I think
you should get going, I'll accompany you
out.
(Gaddafi noticed that Shaniqua was with
Prince Jaden)
Gaddafi: Is that what I think it is?
Shaniqua: what?
Gaddafi: So you've stoop that low in
dating our enemy?
Shaniqua: what are you trying to say?
Even if I'm dating him what does that
have to do with you?
Gaddafi: Shaniqua, if I tell our people
about this they'll think you've sold us
out.
Shaniqua: sold you out? What is it in for
me then?
Gaddafi: A position, yes a position of
becoming a princess of this great
kingdom.
Shaniqua: Gaddafi I'm not like you, I'm
not intimidated by positions. Everything
I do is for my people, and please I'll
never forget their straggles. So would
you please excuse me.

TRUE INTENSIONS
(Gaddafi decides to talk to Amber about
Shaniqua's late actions)
Gaddafi: My love, have you noticed that
Shaniqua has been spending a lot of
time with the prince lately?
Amber: What? Well I'm not surprised,
that girl is a gold digger. she goes for
everything that comes her way.
Gaddafi: I never thought that she could
step that low in falling for our enemy.
Amber: Well now you're sounding like a
jealous ex Gaddafi, what does her
relationships have to do with you. I
mean you're even noticing things I've
not seen yet, meaning you've been
spying on her!
Gaddafi: No, my love I wouldn't do such
a thing I was just trying to notify you.
Amber: Gaddafi being a princess have
always been my dream, and being with
you at this moment doesn't seem right. I
need to accomplish my dream Gaddafi,
for I say I'm going after Prince Jaden,
well it might become me against her.
Gaddafi: What are you trying to say
Amber?
Amber: what I mean is that I won't sit
and watch my dream fade. Thanks for
notifying me, I now know what to do.
Gaddafi: so you mean you're breaking up
with me?
Amber: You've got nothing to offer
Gaddafi, and I'm still young. I won't cope
dating a slave. You can't afford me now.
Gaddafi: So our relationship has always
been about material things?
Amber: You would have done the same
if you were me right? I'll never sit and
watch Shaniqua's future being bright
while mine is all messed up. Please go
back to your ex I have dreams to fulfill.
(Amber left)
Late that day Amber decides to talk to
the Chief maid about what have been
happening in the palace.
Amber: I never knew that maids are
allowed every freedom in this palace.
Chief maid: No It's not like that, there's
some places where maids are restricted
to be.
Amber: Well it looks like someone has
been breaking that law!
Chief maid: meaning?
Amber: She has started spending a lot of
time with the prince.
Chief maid: Who? She wouldn't dare do
that if she knew the penalties of those
actions.
Amber: Shaniqua, yes she has been
doing whatever she likes in this
kingdom, she came late in her chambers
yesterday.
Chief maid: Thanks I'll talk to her.
(The chief maid went out)
Shaniqua: The weather is great today
(smiling)
Chief maid: (furious) what's great about
this weather Shaniqua? When you know
exactly what you've been up to lately.
Shaniqua: pardon?
Chief maid: have you forgotten your
position in this palace, you are a maid
and royalty has nothing to do with you.
Shaniqua: pardon?
Chief maid: Please stay away from the
prince, from now on you should never
go to his room. Amber will start doing
your daily tasks. Shaniqua: ohh

AMBER'S FIRST STEP
(It's in the morning, everyone is up for
their everyday tasks, Amber is odd to
take the breakfast to the prince)
Amber: know know!
Prince Jaden: The door is open.
Amber: I know you must be hungry, I
brought you some meals.
Prince Jaden: weird! Where is she?
Amber: who?
Prince Jaden: Shaniqua, it is normal that
she is the one bringing my meals. By the
way who are you?
Amber: I am Amber! The most beautiful
girl in my village.
Prince Jaden: wow, aren't you from the
same village with Shaniqua?
Amber: yeah we're from the same
village.
Prince Jaden: Don't get me wrong but
from my perspective you're surely not
the most beautiful girl in your village.
Amber: Well manners says it all in my
culture, external beauty is not being
considered as being beautiful.
Prince Jaden: well thanks for the food
miss Amber, please make sure that my
lunch is not brought by you. I need
Shaniqua back in to her duties.
Amber: you love her right?
Prince Jaden: yes, do you have a
problem with that?
Amber: I don't want you to be
heartbroken my price but Shaniqua is in
love with Gaddafi! Prince Jaden: please
leave.
Amber: The thing is Shaniqua has been
sleeping around with different man. She
is someone you shouldn't consider as a
wife.
Prince Jaden: (Furious) I said you should
leave, are you deaf. And please I don't
ever wanna see you in here.
