There is nothing happier when your wish comes true. Especially if what you want is something you think is impossible so far. But then again, nothing is impossible in this world.
And Beatrice is the proof of that.
Who would have thought that Beatrice would turn out like this? And in just one day Beatrice managed to change her school life. No one else dared to insult her, no one laughed at her, and all eyes were on her every time she walked down the corridor.
The nerd name Beatrice that was given to her instantly disappeared. It was as if the nickname had never been given to her. All the students at her school even greeted her, especially the male students.
They all stared at Beatrice without blinking even though some of them tried to approach Beatrice. As is currently the case...
Some of the male students were seen huddled together and some of them were seen pushing each other. With their attention focused on Beatrice who was sitting at one of the tables in the canteen.
"Hurry up!"
"Quick, before she leaves!"
"Come on! What are you waiting for?!"
One of the men from the group of students was pushed until he accidentally bumped into the chair occupied by Beatrice.
"Shit!" cursed the man looking at his friends in annoyance.
Beatrice who was sitting at the table immediately turned her head and she immediately saw men wearing the same uniform as the one she was wearing.
"Ah... I'm sorry," said the man feeling embarrassed.
"It's okay," said Beatrice.
The man then noticed something, he looked at his friends who were raising their thumbs at him.
"Hmm... can I sit here?" the man asked hesitantly.
Beatrice, who was eating her food, looked back at the man who was still standing in front of her. Beatrice then nodded her head. "Sure, why not?"
Hearing the answer Beatrice gave him the man immediately smiled happily and sat at the table with Beatrice, they sat opposite each other.
The man continued to stare at Beatrice without batting an eye at all because he was mesmerized by Beatrice's beauty.
"My name is Jeff Kenric, just call me Jeff," the men said shyly
Beatrice was silent for a moment. "Beatrice Blair, just call me Beatrice," replied Beatrice.
Jeff Kenric.
That was the name of the handsome-looking man who was currently sitting at the same table as Beatrice. Those black eyes, pointed nose, and sharp jaws were what Beatrice was looking at right now.
And according to Beatrice, the man she had just met was indeed very handsome. This was also the first time Beatrice had seen and met Jeff.
"You don't mind me sitting here with you?" Jeff asked propping his chin.
Beatrice looked at Jeff. "If I have any objections, I won't let you sit here," Beatrice said shortly.
Wasn't what Beatrice said true? If she objected, she couldn't let Jeff sit with her at that table. Beatrice also didn't care who she sat with either.
It's just that in the past Beatrice always sat alone when she was in the canteen because no one wanted to sit at the same table with her. Even some of the students didn't want to be around her.
But then again, everything has changed.
Look... now all pairs of eyes in the canteen are looking at her, even some of them seem to be whispering. Regardless of what they were talking about, Beatrice didn't care at all.
Jeff chuckled. "I like you," said Jeff, looking at Beatrice.
"Cough... Cough..." Beatrice coughed at Jeff's words. "What?"
Jeff straightened his back. "Yes, I like you. I'm attracted to you."
Beatrice seems to be dreaming right now. She didn't hear wrong, did she? No one in her life had ever said anything like that to her, especially a man. So far no one is interested in her at all, especially the men who don't want to glance at her.
But like magic, right now a handsome man openly told her that he liked her.
Now Beatrice truly believes that appearance is everything that can change a person's life in just an instant and that's what happened to Beatrice right now.
Jeff placed his phone on the table and pushed it slowly in front of Beatrice. "Give me your cell phone number," said Jeff.
"My cell phone number?" confused Beatrice pointing to herself.
Jeff nodded his head. "Yeah, you. Who else? You're the only one in front of me right now," said Jeff.
Beatrice hesitantly took Jeff's cell phone, she gave Jeff her cell phone number. "Here's... my cell phone number," Beatrice handed the expensive phone to Jeff.
Jeff took his cell phone from Beatrice's hand, he looked at his cell phone screen with a smile and that was because he managed to get Beatrice's cell number.
"Thanks, make sure you pick up my call," Jeff said with a wink and then walked away from the table.
Beatrice froze at the table still trying to process what had just happened because everything happened so fast that she never expected it.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, Valery had been watching everything. She also saw when Jeff came to Beatrice's table that Jeff asked for Beatrice's cell phone number.
Valery subconsciously tightened her grip on the mineral water bottle she was holding until the water from the bottle wet her hands.
Valery's eyes stared at Beatrice with anger, her heart also felt like it was burned seeing the interaction between Beatrice and Jeff.
"Valery, are you okay?" asked a woman sitting next to Valery.
Valery bit his lower lip. "Do I look okay?" replied Valery sarcastically.
How could her friends ask her like that, when she looked so angry after what she just saw? She certainly didn't like seeing Jeff approach Beatrice.
"Calm down Valery, you're still the best!"
"That's right Valery, you are still the prettiest in our school."
"You will always be our queen too!"
Valery who heard her friend's words slowly felt better. She then brushed her hair and turned to look at her friends who were sitting at the table with her.
"Sure, I'm much better than that cheap woman! Don't compare me to her," said Valery coldly.
She doesn't like being compared to other people moreover, that person is Beatrice, the woman she hates the most in this school. Valery, she and Beatrice are very different and Beatrice will never be able to match her.
How could a queen compare with a servant?
The two things can never be equated. That was what Valery had in her heart about herself and Beatrice and what happened today made Valery's hatred for Beatrice even bigger.
"That's why you don't have to worry about Beatrice," said one of Valery's friends.
Valery chuckled. "Not worried? After what she did to me? She has humiliated me!" in anger Valery hit the table pretty hard.
How could she forget yesterday's incident in the corridor when Beatrice pushed and humiliated her in front of the students at their school?
Valery even remembers how Beatrice looked at her that time that seemed to have looked down on her, as well as the smile on Beatrice's face when she had humiliated her.
She would never forget any of those things. Valery's friends looked at each other when they heard Valery's words.
"And you all! You didn't even help me back then!" said Valery pointing at her friend angrily.
That's right, at that time all of Valery's friends in the corridor saw Beatrice pushing and humiliating Valery. But they weren't trying to help or defend Valery at all.
Her friends just stood still and watched everything like a statue. Valery even looked at her friends but they acted as if they didn't see Valery.
"V-Valery... we..."
BRAK
Valery stood up from the chair suddenly. "All of you not my friends! And don't try to follow me!" said Valery who then walked away from there leaving her friends.
Valery's friends immediately got up from the chair. "Valery! Wait for us!" they said who then chased after Valery who had left them.
