I glanced at the clock beside the bed and sighed. It was three in the morning. Baby Emma was screeching up a storm so loud that it woke up Amara, which woke me up in turn. Amara had practically bolted out of the room with those maternal instincts she refused to accept she had. I had no doubt that Connor and Mary could handle their own child, but Mara seemed to have a way with children. All the pups loved her, Emma included.
It wasn't long before the wails came to a stop, and I heard Amara's soft footsteps coming back up the stairs. She opened the door to the room and walked in and frowned at me.
"I'm sorry if I woke you." She said
"Don't worry about it I'm sure if you hadn't, screechy the demon child would have in due time." I smirked. Amara put her hands on her hips and glared at me.
