Unlike the other three members of the group, this one walks slowly and calmly towards Infinity with his hands in his pockets, shrouded in smoke. Confused by this, Infinity dashes towards him, raising his fist. However, as he reaches the smoke and throws a punch with his left hand, it comes from the right-hand side, missing the man entirely. The man responds quickly, keeping his hands in his pockets, directing a sharp kick into Infinity's lower abdomen, winding him.
Infinity spins around again to face the mysterious man but finds himself looking in the exact same direction.
The mysterious man proclaims, "You won't have a chance if you stay in the smoke."
Taking the man's advice, Infinity steps back, and he feels normal again. The man then blows the smoke, extending its range. Infinity feels the effect again, this time a lot less prominently. With his vision no longer shrouded, he is finally able to make out the figure. Oppo, a tall man with long hair in a shirt and tie, regular suit trousers, and with a black overcoat wrapped around his shoulders.
"Oppo and Forko, born as brothers, shared an intense rivalry fueled by their immensely high egos. Despite their constant clashes, no clear winner emerged, yet Oppo's ego overshadowed Forko's. This dynamic resulted in neither of them excelling in refinement, a skill they simply didn't require. However, Forko exhibited a natural proficiency in it."
Oppo's ability allows him to control all five senses to confuse his opponents; however, he cannot target a specific person due to his poor refinement and instead expands a vast area around him. The larger the area, the less potent the effect, meaning when the area is minuscule, the effects become more potent.
Infinity, now in a larger ranged area of smoke, feels an effect similar to that of spinning around on the spot a few times. However, Oppo continually walks towards him, closing in the area, making this dizziness get more and more severe. Oppo finally takes his hands out of his pockets, delivering a devastating punch to Infinity's chest.
In an attempt to overcome the effect, Infinity begins overclocking, hoping the added ego would provide a way to bypass Oppo's tactic. Charging in faster, he readies a kick, only to realize he hasn't moved from his original position. Infinity persistently attempts to hit Oppo, but each effort leaves him in nearly the same spot, wasting precious ego.
Frustrated and realizing his close-range attacks are futile, he recognizes the only way to have a chance at winning is to attack Oppo from a distance, where the smoke isn't affecting him as badly. Infinity contemplates the irony of not having his sword—a crucial element for a close-range fighter. In a moment of impulse, he recalls a phrase: "If you need a sword…ego summoning."
"Sway, teetering at the edge of consciousness after summoning the mad prince, uttered with the remnants of his ego, 'Ego Summoning, Katana of Night.' He conjured an intricately designed katana, emanating an unusual aura—likely a result of 'Ego Enchantment.'"
"Sway murmurs, 'I acquired this from a legendary blacksmith a few years ago, but I never possessed enough ego to wield it effectively.'"
Infinity rushes to the spot where the sword had fallen, tightly gripping the scabbard before securing it in his belt loop. A sense of completeness washes over him. As he draws the blade, he admires the beauty of its pure black surface. With the sword held out in front of him, Infinity starts infusing his Ego into the weapon.
Sensing a shift in the situation, Oppo sprints toward Infinity, attempting to shroud him in a veil of smoke within a smaller radius. In response, Infinity, aware of the danger, swiftly dashes away, maintaining a considerable distance between them.
The reason Infinity relies on a sword is that, as much as he can reinforce his body with ego, his use of this reinforcement is much weaker than when using a sword.
Charging towards Oppo with incredible speed, Infinity forces Oppo to resort to dodging the blade slash since he couldn't close his smoke fast enough. The strength of Infinity drastically increases solely from possessing the blade. Oppo, unable to fully react, slides backward, still ending up with a cut on the side of his cheek.
Stepping back and creating distance between him and Oppo, Infinity utilizes 'Ego Slash,' a technique he mastered through continuous practice of a downward slash.
Infinity swings his ego-infused blade down, unleashing a torrent of Ego that cleaves through the air, dispelling all the ego-infused smoke. "Tsk," Infinity mutters. The sword's slice cleaves through the building behind Oppo, the slash inches from Oppo's face narrowly saving his life. "Hmm, it looks like the smoke was still enough to throw off my strike. Though, it seems we don't have to worry about that anymore." Oppo, realizing his smoke has fully dissipated, begins to panic. Infinity readies his blade again in an overhead position.
Suddenly, an ego so terrifying it freezes everyone on the battlefield.
Infinity hears a familiar voice.
"Do you seriously think I'd let you kill my subordinates?"
