I can't wait! I can't wait to show off some of the book!
Here is the prologue!
War...centuries upon centuries fought against the shadow elves.
Monsters that had the features of an elf but with striking differences. Brilliant white hair, solid bloodred eyes; these beasts had slate blue skin with a slight pale brown hue to it which made them seem dirty. Broader and muscular, the tall ravenous monsters attacked indiscriminately. At the front line, they would tear through picket lines and clusters of people without fear of death. Wreaking havoc with their nightmarish claw like hands and vicious jagged teeth, the shadow elves devastated lives across the countryside and terrorized towns, villages, and cities without mercy. Razing buildings to the ground and devouring or mutilating any survivors who escaped the fires.
No one was safe.
Elves, dwarves, and even humans fought with many casualties on all sides. When it finally broke, the shadow elves retreated and fought back wherever they could. The fight mainly taking place in the High Edge mountains. Between the realm of the shadow elves and the human territory called Lockridge forest. Mainly who fights now are the humans and elves as they fight to finally end this terrible war.The dwarves had retreated far east beyond the Moon Rose Range and the northern Blue Frost Mountains. Several great houses believing that the war was nearly over, and they were not needed. There are still many dwarves that live among the humans and still supply aid to them—making weapons and armor, farming, and sending what they could.
Centuries later, in the mist of the conflict waning once more, a family of humans became well-known. They were unquestionably special, claiming to have elven blood ties to Kaleb the Great, an elven warrior and mage that fought until they pushed the shadow elves back and then suddenly disappeared. This family formed a group, calling themselves paladins. Paladin warriors fought with various weapons, sometimes with shields, and were the heavy fighters of the group. Mystic paladins were the ones that fought mainly with magic or became healers. They were strong and formidable, driving the shadow elves nearly to extinction. The shadow elves lost, scattering into dark caves and farther back into their dark, perilous, and volcanic territory. Occasionally a skirmish would pop up on the border. But the humans and elves had virtually won.
They worked hard to extinguish nests and kill any mothers that lingered. To leave a nest or wandering shadow elf female would spell great trouble. In a last-ditch effort of a cunning, bloodthirsty shadow elf general with her clan, allies, and a few human followers, made one last stand.Poison...Sending these followers out with shadow elf blood to poison and weaken the forces. It worked, and the shadow elves pushed the fighting forces back beyond the wall that bordered Lockridge forest of the northwest territory and northern territory. A mesa, plainlike, area called the Mercurial Plateau. Humans and dwarves alike, falling in droves, dying in agony as the terrible beasts overtook the fighting forces.
Triumphantly, the general and her forces were overtaking the great city Aurora, the beautiful city Odessa, and their surrounding areas soon after. Seizing it all for themselves, using it as a new breeding ground for their evil purposes. How did they accomplish it? Humans. They called them followers; crazy and bewitched by the monsters into following them unconditionally, these humans willfully sought out their master's desires and fulfilled it at any cost.April Kuper8Followers posed as doctors and nurses, hiding and contaminating medicines. Whole towns and outposts were killed agonizingly without the shadow elves lifting a finger. If any shadow elf were found, they would simply run and disappear. Their plans were working, and the poison was on its way to destroying the humans...
