Chereads / Senior Year / Chapter 9 - Chapter Nine

Chapter 9 - Chapter Nine

Christmas is gone and so is new year. Everyone was getting ready for our finals.

No one was talking about parties or stuff. Everyone seemed serious.

"What University are you choosing?" Charlly asks.

I ignore him, reading my text.

"Gab?" He shrugs

"Crys?"

"Far from here" I answer without looking up from my text.

"I'd be going to Cambridge" he says smiling

"I'm Happy for you" I say. And I am really.

He was really smart. He deserves it.

"You are really rich, we get it so what?"

I throw my text at Oma and it hits her square in the face.

"Don't talk till you are spoken to" I quote one of my dad's quotes.

"You." She lunges at me. But Gabriel holds her back.

"Let me go" she shouts, scratching his arm.

"Gab, let go" I say.

I'm feeling tired.

*Gabriel's POV

I hold back Oma as she tried to attack Crystal.

"Gab let go" her voice is softer than usual, this i-am-so-tired-of-everything voice..

I slowly let go, Oma straightens her shirt.

"What really is her problem" I ask as she walks away. Cause that's what she does, walk away

"Psychological disorder that has to do with attention"

"HPD?"

She nods. That explains it.

School is over soon, and I head home.

"Gabriel, welcome home" Jennifer, my foster mother greets. I nod going up to my room.

I take my uniform off, standing in just my briefs. Staring at my body through the mirror, the scars and burn marks reminds me of just how broken I am. My phone pings and I look at the screen, it was a message from Crystal.

Doll👻👀: wyd?

I chuckle typing my reply.

Me: couldn't get enough of me in school?😏

Doll👻👀: address, I'm coming over

I type in my address, throwing my phone on the bed. Taking a quick shower, I wear a vest and my joggers.

30 Minutes later there's a knock on my door.

Jennifer opens it poking her head through.

"There's a girl looking for you" she says. I know the way she feels. I never invite anybody home.

Rolling off the bed, I head down.

She's in a hoodie and shorts

"Hey" she smiles.

"Hey, come up" I turn back leading her to my room.

"Nice room" she comments looking around. I lock the door behind me.

"To what do I owe this visit?" I was curious

"Charlly is out and you are the only friend I could think of" True enough, I only see her around Charles.

"Well, welcome to my crib"

Jennifer came knocking with some snacks, taking it from her and dropping it on the table.

"Use protection" she whispered to me.

My jaw went slack.

"I'm not planning on doing anything." I defend

"And I'm a child" she snorts walking away.

"Your mom seems since" Crystal stares at the shut door. Nice my ass.

She looks at me, like finally looking at me, she sees the scars on my shoulders and back.

"Hideous isn't it?" I laugh.

"Not really"

"If you say some sort of cheesy thing right now I swear" she laughs.

"You got me"

The rest of the evening went by like that.

"I'd come again sometime" she tells Jennifer from the door. "Please do" I roll my eyes.

"You ready?" I ask. She nods.

We walk down the street In silence no taxi passing by.

Someone was playing music tracks. She hummed along to a song being played.

"I enjoyed today" I start

"I did too" she looked up at me smiling.

A taxi stopped.

"Where?" Taxi man ask. She said her address.

"I'd get going now" she hugs me. I freeze. This was the first time someone was truely hugging me, I hug her back. She let's go getting in the taxi.

She waves and i wave back to she was out of sight.
