I awakened to the rain trickling on the tiles on the roof of my room. Taking a deep breath in, the smell of rain smells fresh and cool. Getting up from the warmth of my covers the air of mid fall nips at my nose and the tips of my fingers. Reaching out an arm in front of me I carefully walk five steps to the right and grab my cane. Running my fingers along the cane the smell of pine reaches for my nose. My stomach makes a long groan. "I guess I'm hungry" Awai tsuk giggles, pats his belly, freshens up and heads to the dining room for breakfast. Tapping his cane on the ground and counting the steps he's taking.
When entering the dining room, the smell of breakfast makes his stomach groan even louder. Awai tsuk hurley finds a chair and sits down. "Good morning my lord" an older man says to my right. "Ah good morning, Ah guo what's for breakfast this morning?". Ah guo pauses slightly and with a sigh says: "eggs and rice my lord". Fang Awai frowns slightly "Why so little this morning Ah guo did the main house forget to drop off our rations for this month?" Ah guo bites his lip. "I'm sorry my lord the rations are getting fewer and fewer each month, this is all we can give for breakfast without having to skip meals".
Ah guo clenches his fists turning his knuckles white. "If I may speak so freely That evil concubine of your fathers has really done it this time, trying to starve our young master now that she's become the main wife. Fang Awai puts a hand up and Ah guo goes silent. "Ah guo it must have been a simple mistake why get so upset over things like this. I'll go talk to my father and set this straight". Fang Awaki eats his remaining food and gets his cane. "Ah guo I'll be back here shortly. I'm heading to the main house to talk to my father". "My lord let me help you on your way there." "No need Ah guo I know my way" Ah guo reluctantly agrees and hands Fang Awaki an umbrella while heading out the front door.
