Day by day the dragons grew stronger by the day as Lance looked on from the sidelines in amazement. He'd only been training with the knights for a little under three months and now he was helping them out more than they were helping him out.
They were getting better each time he got to help them out and the amount of improvement made him proud but it did nothing to take away the guilt that he felt.
There had to be something he could do for them. But what? The dragon's had no human friends so there was nothing he could offer except a few words when they were alone. And even then, most of the time they barely acknowledged them.
If Lance didn't know any better, he would say that their personalities resembled a flock of seagulls or vultures rather than humanoid species.* It was strange. When he asked them about their life before the humans came along, they just shrugged and said that they couldn't remember anything from before.
