Chereads / My Life as a Villain / Chapter 32 - 17

Chapter 32 - 17

Explosions could be seen in the sky above , shaking the entire building. A loud boom echoed through the large room, startling all who were inside as one of the lights suddenly flickered and fell to the ground, leaving the rest of the power grid dead.

Halo smiled as she screamed her attack. The sound of shattering glass was heard throughout the building before another explosion rocked them from the inside. The door exploded inward and Halo walked in smirking at the chaos around her.

A young man dressed completely in black stared up at Halo in fear as he scrambled back away, Halo laughing at the sight as she stalked forward. She stopped mere inches away from him as he whimpered and cowered behind her, tears streaming down his face.

Halo laughed again as he shook, trying to get away from her but unable to escape due to his height. She watched his terrified eyes dart between her own before she raised a hand and slammed it against the wall next to him. She grinned as he cried out and covered his head with his arms.

A tall young man dressed in all black walked confidently behind Halo , glaring at the boy with hate and disdain. Halo felt a slight pang as she turned to meet his gaze before she stepped away, turning to walk towards the man.

"Blood Strain!" He shouted.

His attack snapped the scared boys head clear off his shoulders before he crashed into the wall, blood pouring down his head. Halo smiled as she watched the boy writhe on the floor in pain. Her smile grew wider as she approached him and reached out a finger.

"No!" he shrieked as he scrambled away, his hand reaching under his coat for some kind of weapon. He grabbed something and pointed it at Halo, a gun.

"NO!" Halo screeched, flailing her arms about wildly as she took several steps backwards. Her heart thudded hard in her chest as she struggled to catch her breath.

The boy hesitated, watching her warily as she slowly lifted her hands up and backed away the teen Halo was with.

"Kill them all!" She shouted.

As soon as that word left Halo's mouth, the lights flickered again and died. A deep rumble shook the building violently, causing the young man to stumble backward, falling on his butt.

The teens blood attack bubbled under his skin. Confidently he invoked his sanguine fluid into a large sword , brandishing it in front of himself doing as Halo ordered killing everyone present. Halo stood there satisfied with what had been accomplished as she watched the blood stain the floor beneath the boy, making his clothes dark and his hair messy.

Suddenly, the ground beneath their feet trembled once more and they looked over their shoulders to see the door being blown open by a strong gust of wind. As they spun around Halo saw a new face of a masked man with blonde hair jumped down.

He charged at the teen holding the blade made of blood, who jumped to his feet as he swung at him. Blood dripped from the blade which cut the masked man in half as it flew by. Halo frowned in distaste and turned her attention back to the boy.

"Disgusting as your father I see!" The man yelled. His voice was filled with hate as his eyes narrowed at the teen.

"You don't deserve to know my father! You're super hero scum!" The teen screamed.

He leapt at the masked man again and together they battled each other, swinging and slashing at one another desperately. Blood began covering the ground as they fought and danced in the dim light, their movements frantic.

The air rumbled with every swing and slash from both parties as they clashed repeatedly, sparks flying. Halo looked on in amusement as the fight unfolded before her, smiling at the display of aggression. She watched the scene play out in front of her with a small smile.

The masked man had a hard time fighting against the young teen who attacked him ferociously. Every time he hit the floor blood spurted and soaked his uniform. The blonde kept attacking the man until finally the masked man fell, bleeding and defeated, his sword clattering to the floor.

The teenager held the man's sword with two bloody hands. He glared furiously down at the mask lying lifelessly at his feet, blood dripping from his fingers.

Halo couldn't help herself; she burst into hysterical laughter. The blondes head shot up, looking towards the source of the noise in surprise.

"Good job, Lance!" Halo said excitedly. She turned her focus back to the man before her. Lance frowned angrily as he glared at the girl.

Lance stood tall admiring his handy work while Halo just chuckled. Suddenly she stopped abruptly, staring at the blonde boy before her curiously. The boy's hair had been chopped short, revealing his sharp features. His body was muscular yet lean; clearly training in physical combat to protect himself.

There was no denying who this boy was, although Halo wouldn' t have known unless he had told her. But he didn' t look like someone you would associate with violence.

Halo grinned brightly as she took in the handsome features in front of her. He was so young yet he had already managed to become an expert in a dangerous profession. Halo found her eyes drawn to his lips as they moved slightly in concentration.

"So you are still alive..." she breathed.

Lance rolled his eyes.

"Just take him back to the den like all the other men…you are such a slut!" Lance smirked.

Halo laughed again, ignoring the comment. Lance frowned at her as she turned her attention back to the unconscious figure in front of her. With great care, Halo knelt down, gently taking the unconscious man by the shoulder and slinging him over her back like a sack of potatoes.

With a laugh she turned and followed Lance out of the destroyed hall where they found their leader waiting for them. The tall man was sitting cross legged on the floor in the middle of the room, surrounded by shattered pieces of concrete and metal scattered around him.

"Oh yeah…before I forget. Happy 17th Birthday Lance." The man said dryly as he glanced up at Lance who was standing a few meters away.

Lance rolled his eyes and turned away. 'Whatever.'
