Lance' brows furrowed and he started running again, hoping to catch up to the reptile before it ran away. He stumbled over roots and rocks as he ran but kept pushing forwards, refusing to slow down. Lance stopped suddenly once he reached the entrance of the forest, gasping harshly and falling on his knees, his breathing shaky.
Was the lizard man right?, Had Lance really lost his friends forever? Would he never find them again? Lance closed his eyes and rested his forehead against the grass beneath him. Tears welled up in his eyes as he cried quietly. The last thing Lance remembered before falling asleep was seeing a flash of white in his vision before everything went black.
Lance woke up, confused as to where he was, and where he was standing. He had been sitting outside, staring up at the dark sky. There were clouds moving slowly across it and it looked beautiful, like some kind of painting.
