THE GUARDIAN: FREDERICH CORP'S BANKRUPTCY; The World Economy is Shaken!
"Frederich Corp is reported to have experienced problems after hundreds of thousands of mining employees in the Southeast Asian region experienced unilateral layoffs. Reporting from Routers, the company engaged in technology, mining, and crude oil has continued to experience a decline in stock value since the last month. Earnings that have continued to decline in the previous two weeks indicate that Frederich Corp has experienced a decrease in revenue from 800 USD per second to less than 550 USD per second. Based on the data obtained, the bankruptcy of this company resulted in global economic instability, which was also affected by—
Cheryl snorted in annoyance. She threw her cellphone on the bed without caring if the object didn't land properly and instead hit the marble floor, causing the screen to crack.
Mateo is such an asshole. How could her brother bring down Rafael's company just because of his personal problems?
When compared to Alejadro's company, Frederich Corp is nothing. The company obviously wouldn't be able to put up any resistance since its position was far below Alejandro Company. However, should Mateo carry out a disgusting attack just because he often gets into trouble with Rafael?
"Bring me my car keys!" Cheryl exclaimed while walking through the lobby of the mansion.
"Mr. Jackson said you are still not allowed to drive, Miss." A waiter came with hasty steps when she heard Cheryl's exclamation.
"My hand is healed!" Cheryl replied with a sour expression.
It turned out that her hand was not cracked. She was only fooled by Mateo who deliberately spoke bullshit to scare her.
"We have to call Master—"
"For God's sake! I've recovered!" Cheryl groaned in frustration. She took the car keys from one of the waiters and then walked back towards the car park in front of the main yard.
After marriage, Mateo and Veronica live in Queens, one of New York City's less crowded suburbs. Veronica is a woman who doesn't like the density of the city. She prefers to spend hours tending flowers and bathing her dogs. She also likes to go to a private salon because she doesn't want to share grooming equipment with others. Therefore, Mateo builds a magnificent mansion to pamper his wife.
The mansion that Cheryl lives in Manhattan also has similar facilities, complete with a horse race, vineyard, private salon, basketball court, tennis, and bowling alley. Still, Cheryl doesn't like doing activities at home. She prefers to go to the Alejandro public salon which was built in the Alejandro Skyscraper Building.
"Are you crazy? Why attack Rafael's company?!" Cheryl exclaimed as soon as her car was parked right in front of the magnificent door of Mateo's mansion. Coincidentally, her brother was walking down the stairs from the main door to the front yard.
"What?!" Mateo stopped walking, he watched Cheryl for a moment, then frowned with an annoyed expression.
"I know that it was you who bankrupted Rafael!" Cheryl jumped out of the car without bothering to open the door.
"Not me!" Meteo groaned in frustration "if you came here just to blame me for that idiot's bankruptcy, I'd tell you again if it wasn't me!"
Cheryl frowned, "You think I believe in bullshit sentences?" She walked over to Mateo, who seemed to be in a hurry to leave his mansion.
"You can conspire with Veronica to blame me, but it wasn't me who did it! Do you think I'm the only one trying to bring him down? Rafael has a lot of enemies. Everyone wants to bring his company down!"
"One of them is you." Cheryl was still making accusations with sharp eyes.
"Yes, up to you." Mateo rubbed his face roughly, "Why do you care about Rafael anyway? Just let the company go bankrupt. As long as it's not Carlos who's broke because you don't like living poor."
"This has nothing to do with Carlos!" Cheryl bit her lower lip herself. She was doubtful with her heart. She suddenly felt annoyed when she heard the news of Rafael's bankruptcy.
"Then why did you come here nagging me? Even if I bankrupt Rafael, it's absolutely none of your business, Cheryl. All you need to do is sit back in Diamonique as you've always wanted to do. Or maybe you can take Veronica along for some shopping and fun things like you guys used to." Mateo let out a short breath, "you can do anything, as long as you don't mention Rafael's name again." He strictly speaks.
Cheryl grimaced. She could feel Mateo's irritation when he mentioned Rafael's name.
Veronica must have known about the news about Rafael's company. Also, she must have argued with Mateo because one month ago they heard the vengeful promise Mateo made to Rafael. However, companies are not a game they can make a game of. What would happen to the millions of people who work with him if the company went bankrupt?
"If not you, then who brought down Rafael's company?" Cheryl muttered in a low voice.
"How do I know?!" spit out Mateo while walking away.
"Where are you going?" She ran after Mateo.
"Stay away from home. Fighting with Veronica is driving me crazy."
Cheryl's steps started to slow down. She didn't follow Mateo who was walking toward one of his cars and then drove the vehicle in a hurry as if he was the president who was late for an important meeting. If Mateo decides to go away for a while, it means Mateo and Veronica have a serious fight.
Cheryl's hands clenched into fists. Honestly, there was a beating in her heart when she found out that Veronica still cared about her ex-lover when she was married. She doesn't know what kind of relationship they have, but Cheryl feels that both Rafael and Veronica have their own place in each other's hearts. Maybe not as a couple, but as an irreplaceable figure, even if one of them already has a partner.
"Cheryl? When did you come here?"
The mansion door opened again, not Mateo, but Veronica who came down the stairs with graceful steps while holding one of her dogs.
"I came to talk with Mateo."
"Where is he now?" Veronica's eyes turned sad, "he always leaves every time we fight." She complained.
"You two fought over Rafael's problem?" Guess Cheryl.
Veronica nodded, not trying to show evasion even though Cheryl was squinting at her.
"And I guess you came here to talk about that too, didn't you?" now Veronica's sad gaze turned into a mischievous grin.
"I..." Cheryl stuttered to herself. She knew what Veronica's gaze meant, but she couldn't give any evasion either.
Veronica smiled briefly when she saw Cheryl confused. As if knowing what was going on in Cheryl's mind, she said curtly, "I don't think Mateo did it."
Cheryl frowned, "how do you know?"
"I know him. Even though he hates Rafael, he wouldn't do such a lowly thing."
"Are you sure?" Cheryl rolled her eyes.
"Yes, I'm pretty sure." Veronica nodded, "but if not the Alejandro family, then who can destroy that company? The power of Rafael's grandfather's family is no joke, Cheryl. No one can destroy the company if their power is not higher, or at least on the same power with their company."
"So Frederich Corp is Rafael's grandfather's company?"
Veronica looked surprised when she heard Cheryl's question, "Yeah. It was a company given to him by his maternal grandfather."
Cheryl's face grew darker.
Even if Veronica is sure that it wasn't her husband who deliberately destroyed Rafael's company, the long explanation given by her has answered that only the Alejandro family can knock out a large company in one month. Moreover, the company is not a game company that has only been established for ten or twenty years. Frederich Corp is a hereditary mining company that has probably been around since Alejandro started their family clan.
"Vero, can I have Rafael's contact?" Cheryl asked resignedly.
