Grandma kept talking to Claire since she found out about them, she has been asking her a lot of questions about when they started dating?
Did Jason asked her out romantically and Claire was patiently answering all of them.
"What a nice girlfriend you have, she is making sure you don't get beaten up by your grandmother!" Austin teased Jason, earning a punch on his arm.
Austin groaned loudly getting the attention of Claire and Grandma Scarlett, "Grandma see, how abusive he is!" Austin pointed towards Jason, who was standing right beside him.
"Jason don't do that to him, don't spoil my mood, today I'm really happy, to find out you both love each other!" Grandma smiled at them, but their expression made her feel skeptical.
"You both love each other, right?" Grandma Scarlett's question made Claire speechless, she felt all the eyes were on her, but she didn't dare to look at them.
She even felt as if Jason was also waiting for her to answer grandma's question, the question made Claire think about her feelings, she knew she liked him, but for her, love was a very deep feeling which she wasn't sure about.
She had some feelings for Jake before, so she knew what it feels like to have a crush on someone, but those feelings were long gone.
"What do you think she will reply?" Austin whispered in Jason's ear, he was also waiting for her to say something but to his dismay she was lost in her own thoughts.
"Grandma we just started seeing each other, you can't ask something like this." Jason defended both of them.
"He is right grandma, we still need time to know each other!" Claire tried to make grandma understand their situation, but she clearly looked unhappy.
She tried to smile and said, "Grandma it takes time to love someone."
"No Claire, it doesn't take time to love someone, it takes time to know someone!" Grandma Scarlett's words confused the three of them.
"How can you be sure about that?" Jason challenged, "Do you think I have never seen relationships?" Grandma was offended, "The definition of love might be different in your generation, but the feeling still feels the same!"
"Then how can we find out that we love someone?" While asking this question the only person on Austin's mind was Jasmine.
Grandma chuckled making the fine lines on her face more prominent and replied, "Everyone has a different definition of love and so their way of feeling love is also different, but there is always a way to know that we love someone."
Claire was listening attentively to her words, she was also curious to find out what was the way to feel love.
"It's the feeling of pain and happiness combined together,"
Claire frowned and asked, "That doesn't make sense!"
"Let me explain, if you think love can only bring happiness to you than you're living in a fairy tale," Grandma smiled, "Love will bring all kind of emotions together making you a mess, but these two emotions will always be stronger, pain and happiness."
"So, do you mean to say if we want to feel love we first have to deal with pain?" Austin inquired, looking scared already.
"Yes, and when you'll look at that person even your pain will fade away!"
"I don't believe in this theory, what will you say if that person is the reason for your pain?" Jason crossed his arms furrowing his eyebrows, he didn't believe in grandma's theory of love, how can someone feel happy with pain.
"That's something you have to feel to find out yourself and for your question, don't think that the person won't ever hurt you!" Grandma gave him reality check.
"And if that person hurts you than it's up to you to decide if you want to continue to love or not, nobody can help you in that."
"Okay I think it's enough for today, it's getting dark you should drop Claire at her home." Austin wanted to stop this conversation here only, he didn't want Jason to be angry on something like this.
Claire agreed with him, she gave a hug to grandma as she bid bye to her walking out with Jason.
"So, do you agree with grandma?" Jason wanted to cut the awkward silence between them, he also wished to hear her thoughts on this.
"Umm...not completely, I agree on somethings but not all of them and what about you?" They reached the parking lot, walking towards the car.
"I don't agree to any of that, you can't love someone who hurts you, wait let me rephrase it... you should never love someone who hurts you."
Claire chuckled looking at his angry face, as they sat in the car, "Why are you getting angry?"
Jason signed deeply trying to calm himself, "Forget it, let me drop you home!"
The ride to Claire's home was silent, both of them were still bothered what really love meant.
Claire wanted to understand her feelings towards Jason, while he was worried that maybe trying to get back at Jake, he did mistake by dragging Claire in this, he didn't wish to get conflict in his own emotions.
"I'm going to a business trip for a day tomorrow," Jason told her as he stopped the car in front of her house, as they got out of the car.
"Why are you telling me this?"
"Because if grandma asked you about me and you didn't know where I was, it would create doubt in her mind!" Claire nodded, she definitely didn't want Grandma to doubt them.
"And I also thought I should inform my girlfriend." Jason shrugged, "Okay, so... I'll leave, Claire shuttered after hearing him, she wanted to run away from there in embarrassment.
She turned around and left without turning back, which made Jason disappointed.
Claire was continuously ringing the bell on the front door, keeping her other hand on her heart which was beating faster than it should, the smile was not leaving her face.
Finally she felt there was a hope for the relation that was called a fake relationship.
