Has the world of the supernatural ever intrigued you? Every day for the past 7 years I've been studying the supernatural. I don't know why but something about it just is interesting. As most things in this world most people don't believe in ghosts and ghouls, and honestly I wouldn't either if it wasn't for my experience when I was 13. I used to live in this apartment with a bunch of vegetation on the side of it. My mom usually had me do laundry which was in the basement so yeah it was pretty unnerving already. You probably get the rest already so I might as well go with an introduction. My name is Jeffery Wayne, but all my friends call me JW. I'm 23 and work at a MacDolan's, but that's not all I do. Every night after work I meet up with 3 of my closest friends and go hunting for the supernatural. I know it sounds kinda lame, but I assure you it's pretty cool. Well onto the story.
"Jeff!" A voice called out for me. It sounds kinda far. Should I not worry about it?
"Jeff!" There it is again. What is that? Who's saying my name?
"Jeff!" My door slams open, "I've been calling your name for the past 10 minutes!"
"Sorry mom I had a rough night." I sat up slowly rubbing my head.
"When did you get home?"
"I told you that if you are getting that tired you should take a day off."
"You know I can't do that." The one who came in my room is my mom, Susan Wayne. I honestly look a lot like her which I don't find to be a bad thing. After mom closes the door I get dressed, then make my way out to the living room. Upon entering the living room I find my dad setting up this tall coffin like shelf
"Hey dad whatcha got there?" I look the shelf up and down.
"Remember when I got to meet John Canopy?" He asks while keeping his attention towards the shelf.
"Yeah, that day was so cool." My eyes light up with excitement, "finding out that the man behind Staboween is a fan of your page was so freaking awesome!"
"Well he's coming here today for an interview." These words paralyzed me.
"Did you just say..."
"Yep, John Canopy is gonna be in our house!" Dad's excitement levels grew higher than I had ever seen. If you hadn't guessed the one talking is my dad Ted Wayne. Dad has been a fan of horror movies since he was 8, and Staboween just happened be one he caught. I kinda followed in his footseteps and turn into a horror fanatic myself. Though my favorite horror movie is Friday at Camp we are still on the same page usually.
I start to get ready for work when I noticed I can't find my shoes anywhere.  I swore I placed them Infront of my bed like I always do. Maybe the cats took them? No that's not like them. Just before I decided to put on my regular tennis shoes I feel a cold breeze.
"Looking for these?" When I look in front of me I notice what appears to be one of the cutest girls I've ever seen.
"Hey give those back!" I exclaimed.
"Nope." She disappeared laughing. Great so it's official. A ghost stole my shoes.
