About the book "Economics of Poverty: Past, Present and Future":

There is good news and bad news about poverty. The good news is that in 1990, 55.1 percent of the world's population was tolerant. was below the poverty line; In 2015, this rate dropped to 26.3 percent. The bad news is that in 2015 there were 193.4 million poor people in the world. In 1900 the population of the world was 165 million; In 1800 it was 100 crores. Total poverty alleviation is still a long way off.

Optimists hope that poverty will be eradicated from the world; Signs of poverty will only survive in museums. Those who are not optimists feel that the ultimate assessment of poverty alleviation cannot be made on the basis of current achievements alone. Poverty alleviation must be seen in the context of the past and also from the perspective of the future. Hence this book discusses the measurement and definition of poverty. Changes in the definition of poverty are also analyzed. Those who are hungry are not only poor, but those who are unemployed today are also poor. At least 40 percent of people in the triangle of wealth inequality are also poor.

The book is written for the general reader, for those who work for poverty alleviation and for those who study poverty in universities.
