Chapter 12 - Wolf’s pack

"Avery, why do you only use the winds' magic?"

"Hm? I didn't really ask myself the question. But I think it's the affinity with which I feel most comfortable. It has become all the more true in this game."

Kasel and his group of three people, including himself, had just resumed their journeys.

"Hmm, in this case, how did you become a mage from the start?" Kasel asked once again.

"Hm? Isn't it normal to have bonus points for mana and a random class? From the first time I connected, I received 25 hydrars and level 01 wind skills." She announced in a confused tone.

"What? It's impossible! I had to reach level five to be able to put points in my [HYD] Stat. How can you lie to an NPC?" Gray replied behind them.

"I'm not lying. That's the truth!" Avery frowned.

"No, it's impossible! Aren't you still going to tell me that you were born with a magical affinity?!" Gray obviously did not believe in Avery's words.

But Kasel had strange lights in his eyes.

'This girl... I never thought I would as soon meet such a rare pearl. She is all the more perfect for the class in the dungeon.' Kasel spoke to himself while Gray and Avery squabbled like kids.

"It's good now. I think I pretty much understood what's going on with Miss Avery." Finally, he stopped them.

But at the same time, he noticed something strange.

The corpses of monsters.

"Something is wrong." He murmured under his tongue while stopping in his steps.

"What's wrong?" Avery asked.

In front of them, the bodies of dozens of black wolves lay on the ground.

Kasel inspected the wounds of one of the wolves with an inked mood. Then, did the same with five other wolves in dull silence accompanied by the nervousness of his teammates.

After a minute, Kasel's relentless voice resounded.

"Prepare for the fight we will have to deliver ourselves to a butchery!" He said, taking his scarlet sword out of its sheath.

Even before the others could ask for the cause, two rabid wolves with their blood-injected eyes jumped towards them behind strange hay.

-F*ck!

Gray shouted these words by sprinting toward one of the wolves and engaged in a one-way fight with the wolf.

The wolf tried to scratch him but he managed to avoid the sneaky and ruthless attack of the wolf by pulling back and then his dagger stabbed the wolf's throat.

The wolf didn't die instantly! Instead, his sharp fangs bit Gray's wrist!

Even if Gray felt indescribable pain, he did not regress in front of the wolf. His hand, which was stuck between the wolf's fangs, dropped the dagger and his other hand grabbed it before the dagger reached the ground.

Slice! Slice

-Awouuuuu!

The wolf made his last cry of agony before collapsing to the ground.

You defeated a wild wolf|

60 Xp|

At the same time, Kasel cleanly decapitated the other wolf's head before he shouts.

-Gray, take care of yourself with the herbs I gave you. The battle has only just begun!

Kasel immediately ordered by making a nonchalant slash to get rid of the blood on his sword.

"Can you explain to us what's happening?" Avery asked confusedly.

"No time for that. Let's climb this tree first." He replied while pointing to a large tree that was among the trees.

Shortly after...

A pack of wild wolves appeared below the tree on which Kasel and his group had climbed.

But they could not hide their presence from the wolves.

They were able to locate Kasel and his teammates just with their smells! As they did not have the strength to reach them, the wolves constantly screamed to attract the rest of the pack!

The tree was suddenly surrounded by more than twenty wolves, and the weakest of them was at level 14!

The worst thing... is that their numbers continued to increase!

"Sigh, it was because of the dying cry of the other wolf that attracted all this pack!" Kasel commented in an indifferent tone.

"But is it normal that he has so many wolves in the same place?" Gray asked by chewing the green leaf to soothe the pain and heal his wound.

"Do you remember the corpses of the wolves we saw rather?"

"Yes, they had fatal wounds made by claws. It's as if they had been attacked by another predator more powerful than them." Avery commented.

Kasel shook his head.

"They were not attacked by other predators, but by their fellow wolves."

"What? Did they engage in a clan fight or something similar?" Gray Asked.

"We can say that. It is because they elect to designate a new Alpha wolf that will reign over the entire pack. And according to the corpses, they were all potential candidates for the title." Kasel explained briefly.

-Gasp...

"So... does that mean...

Even before Avery finished her sentence, Kasel nodded. - Yes, we can't be more unlucky than that. Not only had they just finished their rituals, but the forest wolves are almost all present! To make it worse, it seems that the new Alpha will soon appear!"

-Frisian.

"And according to the levels of these wolves, the new Alpha must be at least at level twenty!"

"What?! Levels 20? Does this mean that we will die here without achieving our goal?" Avery asked with agitation.

Smirk...

"By simple wolves?" Kasel asked him with a ridiculous smile.

"..."

"..."

Even if the two did not answer Kasel, they wanted to shout at him for having the audacity to pronounce the words "simple wolves"!

Even if he trusted him, he was still an NPC at level 06! The weakest among them, finally, technically.

"We are not going to flee or die!" Kasel

"Th-then... are we going to stay here until they leave?" Gray asked while Avery unconsciously nodded in agreement.

If it was an ordinary game like the others, she might not feel such pressure but it was different.

To make matters worse, she could not even disconnect before the end of her quest.

"Hehe, we're going to take the third option."

-!...

"And... what's the third option?" Avery asked while having a bad feeling.

"It's obvious, isn't it? We will level up. We're not going to let all these XPs slip between our fingers are we?" He said with a mischievous smile.

'I feared that I had an insufficient level to be able to enter the IBLIS dungeon; but now, with all these XP, hehe...' while he said these words in these thoughts, he had a sarcastic smile and bright eyes of greed.

"XP...?!!"

"It's impossible to defeat such a horde with our levels. We are going to be massacred!" Gray immediately refused while having cold sweat pearls on his forehead.

Without even listening to Gray's protests, Kasel took out his bow and arrows in his inventory.

"!!"

Seeing their astonishment, he had an ironic smile. - Didn't you think I was going to rush into the heap without an attack plan? We have an advantage, unlike them. Avery, attack them with your offensive spells; we must reduce their numbers at all costs before the arrival of the Alpha wolf." Kasel gave this advice by shooting an arrow at a wolf's skull (Lvl15).

You dealt a critical blow to the target. |

You killed a wild wolf (Lvl15). |

+75XP|

The reason why he managed to kill the wolf with a single shot was not because of his luck but because of his precision and the additional damage he inflicts on the target thanks to his title [perfect warrior].

"It's playable!" Said Avery with placid eyes when seeing Kasel's strategy.

She could have thought the same thing if she hadn't panicked in front of the pack.

"Wind Arrows!" She shouted.

Instantly...

Three wind arrows fired at a one-level wolf (16).

-40 HP|

"40 only?" She grimaced when she saw the pathetic result of her attack.

"Do not only aim at the body, try to inflict significant damage on them by targeting their vital points. And also, focus on low-level wolves. This will allow you to earn more XP by leveling up and will allow you to recharge your points [HYD]." Kasel advised her while continuing to shoot arrows that were soaked in paralyzing poisons he had obtained from a mixture of plants.

All the wolves he targeted were either die instantly or paralyzed by the poison soaked on the tips of his arrows.

+75 - +70- +80 (XP)|

Kasel was not the only one to collect XP. Avery was not on a leash either.

The reason for the stupid smile on her soft lips was because of her leveling up.

[Level: 11 -> 12]

Without exception, she put the ten [SP] bonuses in [HYD]

[HYD: 70-> 80]

"Wind Tornado!"

She shouted euphorically while appreciating the massacre she had committed.

"W-What should I do?" Gray asked in an immersive tone.

"Hm? Didn't you get a mythical class with new skills?" Kasel took a break and asked him with confused eyes.

"Yes, I have a long-range offensive skill but... I can't execute it with another type of weapon than the sword." He said with a regrettable sigh while looking at his dagger.

At the time of the purchase of this dagger, he was proud to have acquired a weapon that he used in other VRs. But this is the first time to get a unique class, and even if his class is fierce, he could not exploit its profits because of its weapon limitation.

'It was because of this kind of annoying problem that I did everything to get the title of Perfect Warrior.' Kasel commented for himself by taking out a sword in his inventory.

Before leaving the village of Rehem, he had bought every type of weapon for his future battles. But he did not expect Harold to offer him a sword.

"Try this sword." He said, giving the iron sword to Gray.

But before he thanked him, Kasel continued. "If you like it, it's five coins." He said with a professional smile.

As he told Avery, he and volunteering were two distinct things.

"Tsk, thank you anyway...I guess." Gray replied, catching the sword impatiently.

The first skill he used was [Holy slash] whose name sounded cooler.

You have activated the holy slash skill. |

-Intensely...

When he made a vertical slash down, a milky white light came out of his sword that made its way to a wolf and cut it cleanly into two distinct parts!

-Wow!!! He shouted with indescribable joy at the sight of the damage of his attack.

Avery had wide eyes when he saw the power of Gray's attack. Even Kasel raised his eyebrows slightly, his indifferent look had broken from the moment he saw Gray's attack power.

'Tsk, I should have increased the price of the sword!' He says in a regrettable tone. He felt like he had gone bankrupt because of a single case from which he did not receive much profit.

'Finally, I bought this sword for one coin, I guess it was worth it.' He continued trying to convince himself.

"Holy slash! Holy slash! Holy slash! Holy slash! Holy slash! Holy slash!"

"When u will shut up at the end?! You break our ears!" Avery says while frowns when she sees the overexcitation in Gray's eyes.

You have leveled up. |

+12 SP|

[Lvl: 07->08]

"Wha..? I have two SP points as a bonus!" Gray was joyfully surprised to see such an advantage that his mythical class offers him.

"Tsk, Wind arrow!" Avery slammed his tongue while feeling surpassed by Gray.

Kasel who saw this comparison between them had nothing to say about it. He himself was of level 06, that is, the lowest among them. Where could he compare himself to them?

He continued his archery with more precision than before. As a human being, he naturally wanted to surpass his peers.

After a unilateral massacre that lasted more than twenty minutes, there were only five wolves left under the tree, a dozen wolves paralyzed by poisons, and finally about fifty corpses!

And at the same time, a satisfying smile appeared on Kasel's lips when he saw the new notification on his interface.

[XP: 610/600]

You have leveled up one level.|

[Lvl:06->07]

+10SP|

For having used the different types of weapons with so much concentration and dexterity; thanks to your Perfect Warrior title, you have satisfied all the conditions to impregnate your weapons with hydrar energy. |

Smirk... - Finally, I can now use my [HYD] points. - He said with a satisfying smile.

He jumped from the tree and landed among the five wolves and massacred them in less than two minutes.

Then, he continued his massacre by completing the wolves that could no longer move. The poisons did not have definitive effects, its effects would soon fade if Kasel did not kill the wolves.

But from the moment he killed the last wolf, another lone wolf appeared before him.

This wolf was different from the others in all respects. His size was double, he had snow-white fur, his claws were like blades and left footprints on the ground after each step of his share; and finally, he had predatory yellow eyes and two long fangs coming out of the corner of his mouth!

Kasel frowned when he saw the information about the mysterious wolf that had just appeared.

Alpha Wolf: Lvl 25|

HP: 150/250|

'Sigh, fortunately, he has not yet regained all his HP after the ritual. Otherwise, I don't know how we're going to exhaust his HP. More importantly, will I be able to win against such a beast? - for the very first time, Kasel questioned his victory.

But the determination and thirst for a fight that shone in his eyes strongly contradicted the words he had just spoken.
