ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔっ♡ START OF ARC 3
It's been five days since Drax met with the important figures of the village. After finding out that he was a prince, or something very close to one, and managed to calm down his racing heart, the village chief gave him the rest of the details about what he wanted Drax to do. Afterward, he helped Drax sign in to one of the adventure guild buildings in the symbiote plant village so that Drax could get a steady income while doing his assigned job. Of course, it would also allow him to do other quests that weren't assigned by Gallard, this way, Drax could also earn more money then was already being given to him. After we had entered the adventure guild building, Gallard brought him to the back of the building, where 3 long lines stood In front of a large counter. Getting in line, Drax looked In front of him to see more than six people waiting patiently In front of him.
Giving a huff of impatience, he started messing around with the scale around his neck before becoming bored with that. Looking around, Drax spotted a group of people sitting over at one of the tables located at the far corner of the building. Sitting around the table were four people who were obviously adventures if their armor was anything to go by. The 2 sitting closest to the wall were both women, while the other two were men. The woman on the right was wearing a full set of purple armor.
The armor rode all the way up her arms and legs and stopped as it got to her neck. The armor didn't seem to be that heavy, as every motion the woman made seemed to be quite simple and easy, making Draxbelieve that it was more than likely light armor. The woman's face was beautiful to say the least. Blue eyes that sparkled in the light of the lit candle as black hair fell over her shoulders. Her face was a beautiful milky white that carried sharp but beautiful features that could beat any model back on earth.
And sitting across from this woman stood another that was in no way less of a beauty. The woman had orange hair that fell from her shoulders down, and a face just as beautiful and delicate as the other woman. The difference being her bright-green eyes that shone like emeralds in the candlelight. The woman wore no armor of any kind, but instead wore a gray cloak. The cloak fitted around her shoulders before smoothly rolling down her back before hovering just above her ankles and surrounding her body, showing nothing of what the woman may be hiding below her shoulders.
Beside the two women sat two men who looked almost exactly alike and could be mistaken for twins if not for the clear difference in age. The man sitting next to the purple armored woman was covered completely in armor from the shoulders down. The armor was red and had golden lines engraves all through it, as well as small spikes standing on top of the shoulder pads. The man's face was chiseled and revealed none of the man's current emotions, but carried plenty of scars and a couple of wrinkles, signifying the man's old age. The man's eyes were blue and glowed like ocean waves in the afternoon sun.
Sitting across from the man was another wearing the same armor except instead of golden lines engraved in it, blue lines were instead. The man's face looked almost like the exact replica of the others, except for one small detail. It was clearly younger. The face had barely any scars on it and was without any wrinkles whatsoever. Seeing the group's lips move as they silently whispered to each other, Drax thought that this might be a good time to test their new hearing capabilities. He swiveled his ears forward as Drax focused on trying to hear what the group was saying.
((Purple armored woman--- "Hey did you hear, it appears that monster attacks have risen by more than thirty-five percent this year, and it's only getting worse."))
Shuffling his feet as Drax heard what the first person said he leaned forward as he tried his best to hear what the other person said, in return
((Grey cloak woman--- "Ya I know right, a friend of mine apparently got attacked by a Hail Wolf pack while she was riding along through Ice Pick Field"))
((Older brother with gold engraved armor --- "Wait but isn't that place supposed to be out of any monster's territory as well as heavily guarded thanks to its mana imbued ice that's great for making man's potions, that's insane!!"))
((purple armored woman--- Ya I know, and she wasn't the only one either, many more travelers have been attacked as well which just makes me even more worried as me and my daughter are having to travel through there to get back to the Kingdom of Drazzlen))
((Younger brother with gold engraved armor--- "Well then I pray you have a safe journey, us three need to get heading back to our inn. It was a pleasure meeting you, miss Mary."))
((purple armored woman--- "same"))
Watching the adventurers get up and leave, he turned his attention back to the line as Gallard and Drax finally made it to the front of the line where the receptionist was waiting behind the counter. Looking at the receptionist, Drax's eyes widened in amazement. The receptionist was undoubtedly beautiful, that was for sure, but that wasn't what caught his attention. (She's a tiger kin just like the guild master.!!! LETS GOOOO!!!)
Standing In front of him was none other than one of the strongest beast races known to novels of all time: tiger kin. Born with enormous strength as a baby that's usually comparable to that of a rhino in full charge, they are a force to be reckoned with. Gallard noticed his surprised look but ignored it as he started talking to the receptionist about Drax becoming an adventurer. After talking for a bit the receptionist came back with multiple papers that asked the young fox for things like his name, age and other such details.
Afterward, Drax was forced to sign a contract saying that if he died or got injured then the guild would not be held accountable for it. After that was finished, the receptionist brought him over to a weird crystal, on which she had him put his paw before releasing some of his mana into it. After injecting the crystal with his mana the receptionist nodded before handing Drax a tag made from bronze hanging on a collar..... (HEY I'M NOT SOME KIND OF PET!!!) The receptionist then told him a little bit about the rankings of adventures and a little information about other adventure guilds before going back behind the desk to work with the next person. So, to sum it all up, the ranking system of both adventures and monsters of this world go something like this:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ADVENTURER RANKINGS--
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bronze tag: New adventures or adventures that are only able to defeat F ranked monsters and on accession F+. (The plus sign just means that the monster is a Variant of their race and their natural capabilities may be stronger than usual or that the intelligence of the monster is on par or close to a human so their danger level naturally increases.)
Copper tag: Adventures able to defeat D ranked monsters or lower as well as the occasional D+ ranked monster.
Silver tag: Adventures able to defeat B ranked monsters or lower as well as the occasional B+ ranked monster.
Gold tag: Adventures able to defeat S ranked monsters or lower as well as the occasional S+ ranked monster.
Ruby tag: Adventures able to defeat SSS ranked monsters or lower as well as the occasion SSS+monster and are able to hold there own against a X ranked monster until back up shows up
Platinum tag: Adventures able to defeat X ranked monsters or lower. Any variants belonging to that of an X ranked monster is immediately upgraded to the danger level of ***. At this point it would be better to just run unless you have at least 15 platinum ranked adventures in the same group and even then it's going to be a life or death battle.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MONSTER RANKINGS- Any monsters Class A and above will almost always have the same intelligence of a human.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
F Class monster- monsters that are able to kill regular humans with no combat training
E Class monster- monsters able to kill regular humans with combat training. Mostly included knights or low level adventures.
D Class monster- monsters able destroy small villages by themselves but are still fairly easy for a veteran adventurer to kill.
C Class monster- Monsters able to destroy large towns and usually need multiple small groups of veteran adventures attacking at the same time to kill.
B Class monster- Monsters able to whole cities and need a small militia of veteran soldiers to take down
A Class monster- Monsters able to destroy entire kingdoms alone and usually need whole armies to take down
S Class monster- Monsters able to destroy multiple kingdoms alone and need the cooperation of many nations to defeat
SS Class monster - Monsters able to destroy whole land masses and need an absurdly powerful adventurer to defeat.
SSS Class monster- Monsters able to destroy one quarter of the world's population alone. No normal adventurer can defeat this level of monster and it is best to evaluate right away unless an anomaly of a adventurer appears, in which your chances are better but you should still run away before the fighting starts
X Class monster- Monsters able to destroy multiple land masses by themselves and need adventures that are monsters among monsters to be defeated.
*** Class monster- monsters with the capabilities to put the whole world at risk.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the receptionist left, Drax and Gallard headed to the front of the building before saying their farewells as Gallard also had to get back to work. Seeing him leave, Drax also turned around before heading towards the front of the village where the entrance stood. It took a moment but he finally got to the front of the village after walking through several streets. In front of Drax stood two large ice doors that were completely open as a magnitude of different races entered and traveled out of the doors. As it turns out, the reason that the doors were closed the first day he got here was that the village chief wanted Drax to be impressed once he arrived, which undoubtedly he was. Taking a deep breath he was about to take a step forward before hearing someone shout his name from behind him "Hey Drax, wait up."
Turning around, Drax saw Gale running towards him as her tiny roots scuttled across the ground. Huffing out big gasps of air, Drax let Gale catch her breath before he continued walking. "So, I'm guessing that you're the one Gallard assigned to be my hunting partner?" In the guild it is highly recommended to travel in at least groups of two or more for better protection, and as such Gallard said that he would assign Drax one hunting partner to help him clear out the areas surrounding the village that are overpopulated by monsters. Although, he also told Drax to be careful as there may be some monsters that are very strong hidden within each monster territory and the only reason that he asked Drax to do this job is because he survived the confrontation of a S-Ranked Monster while only a few weeks old. Obviously, that is almost an impossible task, which is why Gallard was so impressed. "Yep," Gale said in a cheerful voice.
"Father said that you might need a little help navigating the areas surrounding the village, so he asked me to come help. Not to mention that I am also pretty strong myself." Gale straightened up her back as a vine came to rest at the center of her stem. The aura along with the actions that she just did were just screaming "PRAISE ME!!!" Oh and that's another thing Drax forgot to mention.
At first, he didn't think any of the symbiote plants had actual limbs, but it turns out that they actually do. The plants were just hiding them so that the effect of opening up to the door would be more dramatic. Now every time a plant walks by, you can clearly see two long vines coming out of both sides of their stems. Oh and another thing that he had found out from Gallard is that you can tell the gender of the plant by the leaves connecting to their vines. The male symbiote plants have small leaves with pointed ends, while females have large round leaves that only have a slight tip.
Drax also found out that you can tell the age of each plant by how long the leaves on their vines are. The length of their leaves, measured in inches, is half of their age. For example, Gale is only ten years old, which means that the leaves connected to her vines are five inches long. (The years on this planet are the same as Earth's.) Seeing Gale acting all cheerful, Drax just couldn't help himself. Looking at Gale, he gave her a toothy grin before shouting "Last one through the doors is a rotten egg" before taking off running. "Hey, no fair, you had a head start." Hearing Gale's angry voice from behind him, he could only laugh as he continued to run straight for the gaping doors.
(Author Note: you pronounce the name of the kingdom that was mentioned like this:)
(Kingdom of Drazzlen////King-dom of Dra-azz-len)
