Chapter 3 - This Quest Sucks.

Looking down at the ground with a confused expression on his face, Drax once again tried digging with his paw only for it to slip into the ground. It's been three days since he last got the ARTIFICIAL WORLD AI that called itself "The World's Voice". Of course, that name was just too long, so he's been referring to it as the system instead. Anyway, right after it told him *welcome to your new home*, it showed him something quite similar to what you would usually see in games.

Of course, he was all for it and immediately began looking. It wasn't long before he found a suitable place for his home. The spot itself was nice. It had a large space of land which was covered by large amounts of wet leaves, making it a pretty ideal place to make a burrow. After all, if he were to dig a hole here, then the front of the hole would probably get covered with wet leaves that would not only hide the entrance to his home but would also hide my scent. Not to mention that the place itself was surrounded by large amounts of tall grass.

He had already checked to see if there was anything living in the grass, and thankfully there wasn't. Surrounding the grass were multiple tall trees that helped, even more, to keep the place out of view. And thanks to the large area that the spot held, Drax would have plenty of space to defend himself. So having found the area that he wanted, Drax had decided to start digging, which leads us to his current predicament. His arm keeps disappearing INTO THE GROUND INSTEAD OF TOUCHING IT!!! (HEY SYSTEM, WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!!!) Drax yelled in his mind.

[[[Host Drax's race is greatly related to that of the unbound ghost, and as such host has inherited their non-physical form as well as many of their other abilities. Thanks to this, the host is unable to physically touch any object made from any form of solid matter under normal means. The same also goes for any physical being. Under normal circumstances, a physical being will not be able to physically touch you in any way. However, you are still visible, so the host must be careful and not be stupid enough to think that just because you got ghost-like abilities then means you are now invisible or invincible. You can still be seen, and you can still be hurt.]]]

(Huh? But I thought you just said that I can't be hurt under normal means?) Thought Drax

[[[Yes, under normal means. Magic spells and abilities, as well as enchanted armor and traps, can and will still hurt you.]]]

(Well, I guess I couldn't ask to be completely untouchable. Now then, if I can't touch anything made from matter, then how am I not falling through the ground right now?) Thought Drax

[[[This is because of the innate skill "hover" that you have also inherited by being related to the unbound ghost race. This allows the body to naturally stay above ground unless the host consciously chooses to dive underground.]]]

(Well, I guess that makes sense. Oh, and before I forget, HOW THE HECK CAN I BUILD A BURROW WITHOUT ACTUALLY BEING ABLE TO PHYSICALLY TOUCH ANYTHING!!!") Yelled Drax inside of his mind.

[[[As mentioned before, the host has inherited a number of the abilities belonging to the unbound ghost race. It is up to the host to figure out what these abilities are and what they do. The number of questions allowed to be asked per quest has been filled. From now on, the host is on his own. Good luck host.]]]

Sighing in frustration, Drax started to think about what the system had said. He was going to have to think outside the box to build his burrow. (So first things first, the system said that I had inherited multiple abilities thanks to being related to that unbound ghost thing. Now I'm not entirely sure what an unbound ghost is, but I do know what a regular ghost is and if there is anything similar, then it shouldn't be that hard to figure out. From what I remember, even in fantasy novels, ghosts always appeared floating, so there should be a way for him to float as well.)

Thinking for a moment before an idea popped into his mind, Drax smiled before running up to the nearest tree. Not stopping, Drax directly passed through the tree as he kept on sprinting. Not feeling like he was getting tired at all, Drax continued to pick up speed as his legs moved at a faster pace. Coming upon a tall hill, Drax forced his legs to go as fast as they could send him. As he reached the top of the hill, Drax bunched up his legs and as hard as his air filled body would let him, he pushed off the ground.

Flying through the air, Drax let out a loud laugh of joy. As he laughed, multiple weird sounds that sounded slightly similar to a baby cry came out of his mouth. Drax had just somehow jumped a good one hundred feet into the air, but as suddenly as it began, it ended. Reaching the apex of his leap, Drax slowly started to descend. Feeling his body start to fall, fear overtook him as he scrambled his legs in the air doing his best to stay lifted.

Even if he was now made out of the mist, that did not mean Drax was fearless whenever it came to falling. Moving his legs back and forth as a scream of terror loud enough to break eardrums escaped his mouth. As Drax got closer to the ground he closed his eyes as he waited for the impact, completely forgetting that he was now mist. But right before he hit the ground, a feeling of complete weightlessness covered his whole body. Even after he came to this world and figured out that he was made of mist, Drax had always felt like he weighed something.

But now, he felt totally and completely weightless. Slowly opening his eyes, confusion spread across his face. Everything in front of Drac was upside-down. Looking down, which would be considered up in this case, Drax could see his legs pointed strength up into the air. Looking down (up) towards the ground, Draxes eyes widened in surprise as he noticed that his body was hovering about three feet above the ground. Trying to turn himself around, all he did was move his upside-down body to the left.

Drax tried turning his body so that his legs would be facing down a few more times before finally giving up. Still upside down and floating above the ground, Drax looked up at the now dark sky. He hadn't even noticed whenever it turned night because everything still looked the same as it did during the day. Thinking about this Drax could only presume that he had some level of night vision as a fox. Looking up at the twinkling stars overhead, mDraxes mind suddenly began to get very sleepy. Letting out a yawn, Draxes eyes started to close as the stars up above him started getting more and more blurry.

As Draxes mind drifted off to the land of dreams, his body started to slowly levitate towards the ground. As his body finally landed, soft snores started to escape Draxes lips as multiple shooting stars unnoticed by him, as he was now asleep, flew over his head. Somebody up there must have been wishing him sweet dreams, because that night, Drax had the best night's sleep he has had in a long time.
