Chereads / The Seraphim Seal: Book 3 / Chapter 13 - Chapter 12: Alecia

Chapter 13 - Chapter 12: Alecia

Screams, war cries, clashing of metal, blood splatter along the ground, different colors. The fog still loomed all around within the pit, where the source of such sounds cannot be seen.

Within this fog, where inmates fought each other, near a metal ramp, Alecia herself sat. Away from the battlefield, her whole torso covered in blood of different colors. Her eyes were closed, jolting at the nearby sound of the fight between inmates. The cut on her upper cheek at that moment, closed up completely, and with that, she opened her eyes.

"I'm sure by now you are feeling better?" Eva's voice in her mind asked.

Alecia stood up, the grip around the handle of her blade tightened.

"In a way... Yes."

"That's good," Eva said.

"It seems you're not all suppressed."

Alecia placed her hand over her chest, the clothing having a large slash across it. She looked ahead of herself.

"What did you do?" She asked, moving into a stance

"You already know what I did. Should I really answer an obvious question?"

Alecia shook her head slightly, and returned to her defensive stance.

"What's the plan? Any ideas?"

"Well, no one seems to notice you, so you can just rest for now, but stay alert, there's no telling how many are out there."

Alecia composed herself slightly, and stepped into the fog.

"Right..."

"I've been thinking..." Eva said, urging Alecia to stop.

"Go on?" Alecia said.

"Remember when I said that this is their way of a death penalty? Maybe this is a way to free some space within Cthulhu."

"A purge?" Alecia asked. She looked up at the incomprehensible height of the prison.

"Exactly. Maybe eventually they'll stop when a few inmates are left standing."

Alecia looked ahead, raised her blade across in a defensive stance.

"I'll be one of them."

Alecia's irises flickered turquoise for a moment and walked further into the fog where the sounds of clashing metal and cries grew louder.

She saw a pair fighting, the smaller one dominating the larger inmate. It was not long before the large brute was taken down by the small one, his throat slice open as green goo oozed from his body.

The small one turned to Alecia, her green scaled face smiled before she ran, two small blades in her hands. Alecia eyes widened, and teeth gritted she ran towards her. She arched her arm back and plunged, the two blades grinded against the sword where it then struck into the floor.

In that moment the inmate swung her blades towards her, Alecia's eyes widened at the incoming strike.

Silence...

A drop of blood fell to the floor. Alecia turned her head to look at the inmate. A glare in her turquoise glowing eyes, a slit across her cheek, blood seeping out of it.

She held the inmate's arm, and squeezed it, causing the female inmate to scream out before collapsing to her knees, dropping the blade in the process. Alecia caught the other blade she swung. Her eyes closed shit, gritting her teeth. Just below her chest, the blade was inches away from her stomach. Blood was dropping off it, as it already impaled through her hand as she held the inmate's fist.

Alecia snatched the blade from her, and plunged it into her neck, the blade still in her hand. The inmate's eyes widened in shock as she choked on her own blood, looking into Alecia's turquoise eyes before she dropped to the ground and left to die as Alecia walked away, ripping out the blade from her hand in the process.

"Above!" Eva's voice.

Alecia stopped, before looking up. There was nothing.

"Now!" Eva's voice again.

Alecia rolled away and looked up once more, watching as a cage fell to the ground before a few others landed near it, trapping a few inmates.

"What's this?" Eva's voice.

Before Alecia could reply, the cages lot up and incinerated the trapped inmates inside. Screams of agony could be heard from them, as well as the smell of burning flesh.

Those screams were far too familiar, all those people she killed over the years, she could never forget, so many nightmares.

"That could have been me," she said, her face softening as the screams subsided.

"What would you do without me."

The sounds of battle continues, she heard the scream of an inmate coming towards her, she knew it was a mistake for anyone to make a noise before attacking their enemy. Alecia wasted no time and sliced the inmate's head off before stabbing another in the back.

"Watch behind!"

Alecia dodged another blade which penetrated into the other inmate instead. She kicked him back before plunging her blade through his head and kicked him to the ground.

"Very nice," Eva said.

"Watch yourself. Judging from those cages, this prison is getting impatient."

"Then I'll help with that."

Alecia's eyes glowed brighter as she continued walking, bracing herself for anything. She adjusted the grips on her weapons and disappeared into the fog once more.
