Chereads / The Seraphim Seal: Book 3 / Chapter 6 - Chapter 5: Alecia

Chapter 6 - Chapter 5: Alecia

Stuck in the dark room, isolated, nothing but darkness. Alecia  wondered if Eva was even real, maybe she was real, or maybe she wasn't. She didn't know anymore. Nothing seemed to make sense anymore. She wondered if Ruth missed her. Did she want her to come home. Home... She missed it, to have a comfortable, to have people close to her, friends, family. Now that is all gone. All she had left was her own self, alone in a dark room with no light at all.

The only company was Eva, she swore that Eva was an hallucination that her mind conjured up from being here this long, or maybe Eva was real and that she was tbe one trying to keep herself from losing her mind. She wondered how Aven was, if he was still alive that is.

"You keep wondering." Eva's voice was heard.

Alecia gasped, startled by her sudden voice, every time it startled her.

"W-what?"

"You're wondering if I'm real or an hallucination aren't you?"

"Does it even matter? You speak to me regardless."

"True. Except I know for certain that I'm real," Eva said.

Alecia chuckled.

"Or maybe it's myself wishing my own hallucination of is real."

"Fair point."

"Why do you even bother talking to me?" Alecia asked, her voiced was raised slightly.

"Well you know how it is here... I get lonely. I'm sure you feel that too. I bet you're glad to hear my voice, aren't you?"

Alecia remained silent.

"Come on, Alecia. We've been here long enough. Why don't you try and escape?"

"I can't," her voice eased out.

"It's impossible."

"Nothing is impossible. If you think really hard about what you want to do, and how to do it. It will be worth it."

"You don't get it... Something here... Something is stopping me from using my abilities. Without them, I don't see any way to escape this prison, let alone my cell."

"So what? You've used your abilities for so long, you've began to rely on them too much. I've seen you fight, watched everything, you are a strong, you are smart. Relying on your own abilities and power will only get you so far." Her voice was stern.

"Being here has done no favors for me. I feel weak, and helpless."

"You managed before haven't you? Remember back on Earth, back when you woke up from that disgusting tank? Not only were you weak then, you had no memories, no knowledge of what you use to be. Look at how you fought through that, and managed to survive."

"I still had help, I still relied on my abilities."

"Only a bit, the rest was all you. The way you stabbed your way through those people, with only a blade at your hand. That's what a true warrior is. Fighting with what little they have left. You still have fight in you, I can feel it."

"I suppose when you put it that way," Alecia answered.

"But this is a whole different scenario, there's no way for me to fight my way out.

"You forget, you need your brain. I know you, you are smart enough to do this with just your wits."

"I-I don't know."

"I'm here," Eva said.

"I'll be the one helping youz a warrior needs help too."

"What must I do?"

"Just be patient, Alecia. I will see what to do when the opportunity presents itself."

"I...I trust you, Eva."

"Nice to see you're softening up to me."

"Don't get the wrong idea. You're the only help I have."

"Whatever you say."
