Chapter 23 - Quest completed.

The soldier transported Alec right inside the clinic.

Inside the clinic room, a beautiful tall young with long, silky black hair and clear violet eyes, dressed in a white medical lab was comfortably seated at the corner of the room, busy thumbing on her tablet before the sudden arrival of the soldier carrying an unconscious student.

"What happened to him?" Miss Emria asked, immediately taking Alec from the soldier's hand and laying him on the bed.

Without waiting for the soldier's reply, she went further to first stabilize Alec's vitals, using her healing ability.

"I have no idea, my lady. I came across a boy carrying him so I thought to bring him here, quickly," The soldier answered back with a slight bow, showing deep respect.

"Alright, you can leave now. I will take care of him from here," Miss Emria said, dismissing the soldier.

After the soldier left, she took a closer look at Alec's wound. Right now, Alec's wound has almost healed up with just a few scratch marks remaining.

Though the wound was almost healed up, Miss Emria still managed to find out its source.

'Claw? But how come? Or did a beast escape through one of the portals?' Miss Emria pondered in deep thought but decided to heal the boy first.

While healing Alec, Miss Emria found out he was infected with some kind of deadly poison. To pull out the poison, she was required to first transfer the poison into her body before tranfering it into another living being, plants precisely. The process was a bit painful but it still worked.

A few minutes later, Alec was good again and was now comfortably sleeping.

'I don't think I know of any beast claws that have poison in them. Unless perhaps, a student purposely did it. Seems like some still managed to smuggle in poison even after the thorough search.' She sighed inwardly.

Miss Emria further went to inform the school principal about the poison case she encountered today.

It would be better if they find the culprit and get him punished quickly.

Due to several deaths that occur every year as a result of poison ability, the five acting followers persuaded the military to abolish in schools, which they did it.

After abolishing poison ability, any student caught cultivating it was ruled to be punished severely.

Well, even though the ability was abolished, many still went on to secretly learn and practice them.

As Linda promised, she led the group to the school clinic which was only a few minutes walk from the girl's dorm.

Reaching the clinic, Kim was the first to rush over to Alec. After making sure he was very much alive and still breathing, she went on to ask the nurse if Alec was completely fine.

"From his wounds, I think he was poisoned," Nina said to the group but after seeing the worried look on their faces, she quickly added, "But don't worry, he is fine now. All thanks to the boy that quickly handed him to the staff that brought him here."

"Poison? But how?" Kim asked the nurse but then realized there was a person in a suitable position to answer that question, Davin.

Immediately, she turned her gaze to met Davin's.

With his face looking all conflicted by the news more than everyone else in the room, Kim assumed he knew best.

Davin was shocked when he heard that Alec was poisoned. It was obvious the poison was from the claw of that student Alec fought with earlier.

"Shit! I never knew the boy was this dangerous. Now I almost risked the life of this interesting creature. But how come he was affected by human poison?"

After Miss Emria told them all they needed to know about Alec's health, she excused herself from the group.

Seeing Alec lying tirelessly on the bed with part of his cloth torn, Kim felt bad for carelessness.

She never knew she cared so much for Alec till now.

"I thought that motherfucking boy, Byron was gonna protect him," Kim said, feeling disappointed.

With bloodlust eyes, she turned to ask what happened Davin.

"Hey, you were with him, right?"

Davin gulped nervously on his saliva before he answered.

"Yeah, sort of."

"Then you should have a better explanation of what happened."

Davin thought for a while about what to say.

'Should I tell her what happened? I don't know if Alec would want that,' Davin pondered in deep thought. After moments of thoughts, he later decided to tell her the truth but excluding some parts.

"After I left the library, I…." Davin began the explanation.

Davin explained everything that happened with some parts such as his involvement as the mastermind behind the whole setup excluded.

'I never knew you were strong enough to beat a level 1.6 ability user. Seems you're not completely useless as I first thought,' Kim resolutely mutters to herself after hearing Davin's explanation.

"Later you show me that student."

"Haha, no need for that. The boy is in his worst state of life now, if not dead already."

The other two girls, Linda and Silver, have been quiet the whole time. None of them knew Alec so they had nothing to offer.

The only reason Silver had come along was that Linda begged her to accompany her. Besides that, she had no business with their problems.

However, Silver's thoughts changed when she heard from Davin that Alec defeated an ability user.

She clearly saw his performance on the test. So how come he defeated an ability user?

It was rare to see a non-ability user who wasn't skilled in either swordsmanship or combat defeat an ability user.

"T-This boy is really weird," Silver dreaded in her thoughts.

Not only Silver had that awed look on her face but Linda also did. She has yet to hear of a case where a non-ability user defeats an ability user, so she was quite surprised.

Just then, Davin noticed Alec's eyelid move.

"He's awake. Kim look, Alec is awake," Davin squealed excitedly as he pointed at Alec's moving eyelid.

Not too long after, Alec slowly opened his eyes and gently sat up on bed with the help of Davin. Looking at the four people there, Alec only recognized two which was Kim and Davin.

"What the fuck were you thinking, getting into a fight on your first day at school?!" Kim barked all of a sudden. "You think you can just go about doing things without considering other people's feelings, huh?!"

Those last words weren't meant to be out loud. Even Kim herself was surprised at her sudden outburst. Though she was angry that Alec made her worried, she never knew she could take it this far. Her emotions got the best of her.

Everyone including Alec was awed at Kim's reaction.

'Isn't she overreacting over this little thing?' Davin thought, seeing how Kim was taking all the shots.

Alec was short of words. He never knew Kim cared so much to worry about him.

"I-I'm sorry if I made you-"

"I don't wanna hear it. I'm leaving now and don't come after me, for your own safety," Kim said with a cold voice, interrupting Alec.

Kim gave the two girls a meaningful stare before leaving through the door.

Silver wasn't foolish to not know the implication of that look from Kim. So looking at Alec, she made it clear.

"I-I'm so s-sorry, but we really need to get going now. See you some other time," Silver apologized with a little blush before running after Kim while dragging Linda along.

"Alrig…" Alec was interrupted by a notification from his system.
