The class Bloom had dragged Amora into , already had people in it seated and chattering loudly. She could see some of them displaying their abilities, like two girls who wirled a small air ball between them, they looked like they were twins. Then there was a group of girls who if they were in the human realm, they would be considered as the popular girls of the class and the entire school. One of them was the leader of the readheaded girls they had passed in the hallway.
"What is she wearing?" One of them whispered, But Amora heard her and was about to reply, Bloom dragged her off to a seat.
"You don't want to get into their traps Mora, forget them" Bloom said. Amora scoffed at the remark, she glanced at the four girls ,all wearing similar grey gowns and their hair, although not the same color, was also styled in the same style. They looked like they were from noble families, but after sizing them up, Amora made up her mind that they didn't pose any threat to her like Bloom had insinuated. " They don't look like they can do much" she said as she constantly eyed the girls and got irritated as they all laughed alike, the throaty kind of laugh.
"Oh no, you don't want to mess with them Mora, Fiammetta and Solana are fire elementals, the meanest of all. They once set fire to my little garden of Liel flowers and you see Alena and Neyastra, they are both witches and they do whatever Fiammetta tells them to do" Bloom explained further to Amora who was rather not interested in their meanness but made up her mind to break their hands if they ever messed with her.
Aenon Asturias the gorgeous water elemental walked in laughing with three other males who were gorgeous but not as their leader. Two of the other males had silvery hair, while one of them had bright blue hair. Amora noticed that Aenon, and his two water elemental friends, had some effect on the female population of the class including herself. She remembered Bloom saying that water elementals had seductive auras around them.
There was a girl seated in a a corner alone. She was wearing a cape with hood and her hair and face we're hardly visible. She was playing with a white flower and she seemed not to care about her environment.
"Why is she alone?"Amora asked Bloom who was still mesmerized by Aenon Asturias. "Hey Bloomie, snap out of it" Amora snapped her fingers and Bloom's gaze left Aenon and came back to her. " Who is that?" Amora asked again. Bloom looked towards the direction Amora was referring to and saw the hooded girl.
"Oh, that's Sirena. She is always alone and nobody knows her abilities. She's rumored to be a late bloomer, Halfling of a mer-folk and a vadinian" said Bloom who was now whispering to Amora.
"There are Merfolks? Like in this realm?" Amora's question had lots of excitement wrapped in it.
"Yes there are Merfolks but not here in Vadina. They have their cove outside of here and it's a really long journey". Amora couldn't still believe that there were real life mermaids and that the corner girl might be half mermaid.
" She has the most beautiful voice, even more than my mother's. Sometime ago, when the hope of finding the last essence was still up, people said she would be the one to sing at the tree lighting ceremony in place of my mother who did it for years" Bloom explained. Amora nodded at her explanations but her eyes were still on the mystery girl and she was going to find out what or who she really is. " I can't believe nobody actually stalked her to know who she really is" Amora said.
"She seems to be in a hurry after learning halls close for the day Mora, one blink , she's gone and no one knows where she goes or where she comes from".
A trio of well built Mystians; two males and a female ,caught Amora and Bloom's attention. These three people were a bit bigger than the other students and their hair were in shades of Brown and Auburn, and their hair looked really thick. Amora could see the slight muscles contracting in the males as they talked and the girl shot Bloom a glare before finding her seat with her companions.
"That is Avani, my former friend who kissed Aenon Asturias" She said to Amora who was still mesmerized by their built body and heights. It made her wonder if they had a gym of some sort in this realm. Even if they had one, it should have taken them a year or two to get such toned body.
"She's quite toned and the are big" She commented.
"All earth elementals are usually heavily built and Tlaloc and Terran are the biggest in this age grade" Bloom explained.
Amora wondered when the classes would begin as she looked around from the chattering girls, to the power show offs , to the mystery girl and to Aenon Asturias the prettiest male in the room. Just then, a girl with purple hair dressed in a leather corset gown that was a bit above her knee, she wore leather boots and she had this dark look about her. Her hair was shaved at the side while the other side of the purple bounced in curls.
Amora thought that this was the coolest outfit she had seen on any Mystian since she stepped into the realm. She couldn't get her eyes off this girl whose skin wasn't as fair as the others, but had a darker tone and her face wore no smile or frown,it was just plain. She strode to an empty seat without stopping to observe anything like the others had done.
"She sure dresses really abnormal, wearing leather gowns and carrying quivers , so not lady-like" one female by the name Enya , a fire elemental said to her partner who was a witch and they both laughed at the girl.
Seeing this, the girl sat quietly, then her eyes turned white and clouds formed over the two girls who had made comments about her. The clouds were white and then they slowly turned dark. The class murmured as they saw what was about to happen.
The two girls who had commented looked up and saw the dark clouds above them. As they were about to react, rain came pouring down on them alone and they were yelling while the other classmates laughed at what was happening. Amora had never seen such thing in her life, weather manipulation, she thought was the coolest powers anyone could ever have. She wanted to know who this weather user was and was about to ask Bloom when a woman wearing a funny outfit of straight blue gown and a pointy hat in the shape of a cone just like the ones Amora and Lesley used for their birthdays when they were younger.
"What is this?" She asked as she saw water already flooding the class and the students were in disarray. She looked up and of course saw the perpetrator of the act staring back at her without expression on her face.
"Lilith, would you stop that now? No powers allowed without the supervision of a mentor" The lady said sternly but this girl Lilith seemed to be unbothered about her threats to send her to the Mistress for scolding. The two girls were drenched and were shivering now , while the other students had gotten on their chairs to avoid the water soaking up their boots.
"Stop this mess now Lilith" The lady ordered angrily and then Lilith stopped her hold on the rain , the cloud disappeared but the class was still flooded. "Out out , go to the Mistress now" The tutor sent the expressionless Lilith out of the class.
"oh moon goddess! This place is flooded. Aenon, Isqesis, Abriel please help take the water out will you?" She called three water elementals who Amora assumed to be the best, to manipulate the water out of the class.
The trio raised their hands and began to conjure the flood. The water began to float in air first as tiny water bubbles and then bigger till it became one large water bubble. The trio bent the water and led it outside the class through the open window. The class was dry again with the exception of the two girls who had been the rain victims.
"Thank you, you three, Zephyr could you please help dry the girls?" She was referring to a male air elemental.
"Yes Miss Tweedle" The boy obeyed and then he caused a large gust of wind directed to the wet girls. The wind blew at them so strong, drying their gowns but ruining their hair.
"Looks like someone just had a bad hair day" Fiammetta commented and the class burst into a round of laughter which was quietened by a glare from the tutor.
"Today we'll be doing the invisibility potion and I have here with me the ingredients for this potion" The tutor snapped her fingers and then a medium sized cauldron appeared with a leather bag that contained the ingredients.
"Why do we need to learn potions? I thought everyone had their abilities and only the witches do potions" Amora whispered to Bloom.
"Well, all Mystians must know how to perform a spell or two, make a few handy potion , witch or no witch, our energies allows to cast a few spells but the witches and wizards have more energy for spells, potions , hex and the likes of it" Bloom explained.
"Pay attention class, first we add freshly collected water from a flowing source, might be a river, spring, fountain or whatever, but it must be from a flowing source" The lady said as she poured water from a jar into the cauldron. " Next, we do the cauldron heating spell to get the cauldron to heat the water. Everyone chant the spell"
"Onhaet tha cauldrona" the entire class with the exception of Amora chanted this spell that sounded like an ancient language and then they snapped their fingers together. Amora could hear the water bubbling after they snapped their fingers.
"Wow!" She said to herself as she witnessed magic first-hand. She felt like she was in one of those illusionists show she and Louisa attended every Halloween. But this wasn't a show, it was real, something meant to be her heritage but she still felt she was in the wrong place as she didn't feel any energy or feel magical in any way, she felt like the normal San Geneva teenage girl who was still looking forward to going to college and prom. She took notes of the other things and spells in making the potion and she kept reciting the spells over and over again constantly mispronouncing the words and Bloom correcting her.
"Ugh! This is hard , everything here is. I can't even pronounce the spells correctly and I don't feel my magic" She complained as they walked out of the class to head for their next class.
"Relax Mora,Magic is like a calm river, it flows, just let it flow , don't try to force it" Bloom said. "Take deep breaths and try again with a smile when you fail. Constant practice, and you'll be unlocking your magical energy in no time as a really beautiful fire elemental" She added with a smile. Amora thought that Bloom was so much like Lesley with her cheerfulness and positivity. " Try being pessimistic sometimes Les" she would say to Lesley whenever Lesley was so positive about something that might not work out. That memory of Lesley tug at her heart and she felt guilty once again for leaving her behind.
"What's next on your scroll?" Bloom asked suddenly bringing her from her memory lane.
Amora opened the scroll and then the next class appeared on it. " Uh, I have Energy Reach" she said.
"Oh, that's the class where you unlock your energy, it's the basics of every Mystian learning life" Bloom explained. " But you have the class with growing Mystians not our age grade" She added. Amora sighed at the fact that she was going to be in the magical kindergarten class to unlock this so called energy that she was sure she doesn't have.
"I've got nature summoning on mine"
Bloom was about directing Amora to the venue of her class when two girls with blue and yellow hair respectively approached them.
"Hello Bloom" The one with the Blue hair said to Bloom and gave a shy nod to Amora.
"Hello hello Azalea, Midori" Bloom responded to them. The two girls, Azalea and Midori were eyeing Amora's outfit and Amora glared back at them. "Uh, Amora, this is Midori" Bloom introduced the blue haired one first. "And this is Azalea" the one with the yellow hair gave Amora a shy smile. " They are naturites too and girls, this is Amora Daeva"
"Pleased to meet you Amora" the girls said in unison Amora only nodded and gave a stiff smile. Bloom directed Amora to the venue of her class and went on her way to her class with Midori and Azalea.
Amora wandered the halls trying to remember if Bloom had said right turn or left turn. "Gosh! This sucks!" She complained as she kept walking past classes. She peeped into one and saw Aenon and some other water elementals in the age grade manipulating water. She kept walking and mumbling to herself , bemoaning her fate in this damned realm and she felt worse without Lexi around to chatter on and on. Amora's mind traveled back to the seven months she had spent building Lexi and didn't see someone coming in front , they bumped into each other, spilling the other person's belongings.
"Oh I'm so sorry, do pardon me" the person said. "No I'm sorry" Amora said and as she looked up, she saw the person she had bumped into was a little girl who looked like she was eight years old. She had slightly pointed ears with silky black hair and the gown she wore was pink and she smelled of lavender.
"I'm so sorry , I should have looked where I was going" The little girl said quite politely. " I'm just so late for Energy Reach " The girl said.
"Oh did you say Energy Reach?" Amora asked with a smile. The girl nodded affirmative.
"I'm headed there too and I seem to have lost my way. It's my next class" Amora said and the girl's expression was that of surprise as she eyed Amora. "Yeah, I know it's not for my age grade, but I'm a late bloomer"Amora explained with a smile.
"Uh, well, I'm also a late bloomer, my mates already moved ahead and I'm stuck trying to figure out my energy. My name is Siofra" The girl introduced herself. "I'm Amora, you can call me Mora"
"Nice to meet you Mora, now let's get to that Energy Reach class" The girl said dragging Amora off to the class.
The class was in an open field with children in the age grade of five and six. Amora felt awkward being in the same class with kids and the tutor was just so sappy for her liking, a halfling as Siofra had told her.
"Ah! Siofra! Late again" The tutor said to Siofra who was trying to think of an excuse. "Um, miss, I am responsible for her lateness, I bumped into her" Amora quickly said. "Hmmm you must be Ulanni Amora?" The tutor questioned.
The tutor motioned for them to join the other kids who were seated in a meditation pose. They sat side by side and listened to the tutor's instructions of taking deep breaths, think happy thoughts and connect to their depths. Taking deep breaths and thinking happy thoughts Amora could do but reaching to her depths was what she just couldn't do.
The other children had their different energies manifested as different colored orbs above their heads. Amora opened her eyes to check how Siofra was doing but saw that the young girl had different colors ranging from silvery, golden and red all mixed together.
"I can't seem to separate my energies from each other" she complained.
"You have more than one energy?" Amora asked with surprise oozing from her voice.
"Oh well! I do and it's a big problem. I wish I could explain this but I need to focus or I'll repeat this grade again" Siofra sounded sad and desperate.
"Hey hey, just relax, take a deep breath, magic flows just let it flow" Amora found herself saying the same words Bloom had said to her earlier, see felt it was the best thing to say to a worried child. Siofra took a deep breath and closed her eyes focusing on separating her energies and then Amora could see the gold and red color disappearing and the silvery energy orb stayed hovering over Siofra's head.
"Good Job Siofra" That was the tutor's voice commending Siofra who was smiling at her progress, she muttered a silent thank you to Amora. The tutor questioned Amora on why she couldn't conjure her energy ,but Amora was also as confused as she was.
"Try relaxing and focus on tapping a bit for starters Amora, it'll come around I believe. I was a late bloomer too but look at me now, tutoring beautiful children on unlocking their own little energies, isn't that a lovely thing?" The tutor was also a very cheerful person and it irked Amora so much that she wanted to shake the tutor while yelling at her to be less sappy just as she did with Lesley , especially when Lesley kept mentioning a realm where mystical beings existed.
"If only she was here to see this" She muttered to herself as they ended the class. Amora looked around to find Siofra but the little girl was nowhere to be found.
"What a day!" She sighed as she sank on her bed when she got back to the family mansion, had dinner and took a warm bath. She took out her digital frame Louisa had gotten her, stared and sobbed for awhile before drifting into a dreamless sleep.
