Ronnie slouched in the front seat of the car, won-dering why on earth her mom hated her so much.
It was the only thing that could explain why she was here visiting her grandparents. No, scratch that. She wa-sn't just visiting her grandparents. She supposed she could live with a visit. But to stay until late August? Pret-ty much the entire summer? That was banishment. She-'d felt like a prisoner being transferred to a rural peniten-tiary. She couldn't believe her mom was actually going to make her go through with this.
"What'd you thinking? her mom asked, "I like talk with you."
"Nothing."
"How about if I turn the volume down?"
"Just stop, mom. Okay? I'm not in the mood."
Ronnie started out the windows, thinking about the past couple of years and suddenly closed her eyes. She can't forget that her first love.
