Chapter 38 - CHAPTER THIRTY EIGHT

What he saw was a sight to behold. It was like a valley of flames. And the flames present were the Draconic Golden flames. The type of flames that could even burn through diamond. This now assured him that everything in this realm was made of flames. Flame energy here was purer than anything he had seen. Xiao Yan smiled and removed his clothes immediately. He began preparing for his long seclusion. First thing was to get a sword. If he wanted to get stronger, he needed to learn to fight without Kurogane, and also without a sword. Using his great spells had a lot of effects on him as it was draining him of his ki and mana.

He went hunting for hard materials. Iron, lead, gold, diamond, anyone will serve. The flames in the place could literally burn anything, he already knew that from Ancalagon. Xiao hunted for ten days and had a good harvest. It was obvious that the valley had a lot of natural resources. Throughout these three days, the stress of finding natural resources were beneficial as Xiao Yan was constantly absorbing the flame energy and tempering his body with it.

In one of his explorations, he saw a strange looking cave. He walked into it with the hope of seeing something beneficial to him. The cave was so quiet that the water droplets touching the ground was heard clearly. The cave was dimly lit that it was hard to see, but for some weird reasons, Xioa Yan could feel everything around him pretty well.

After reaching what seemed like the center of the cave, he saw five stone statues that looked like Dragons. Xiao Yan didn't think too much due to the fact that it was a statue until one of them moved and the remaining of the ones joined.

Xiao Yan paused and soliloquized. He watched the stone statues for some time before moving forward again. There was a huge stone Dragon statue at the center of the coliseum looking room and a hammer below it. He knew that the hammer would be beneficial to him when it was time for blacksmithing.

He walked forward and took the hammer. Immediately he removed the hammer and turned around, he saw the five stone Dragon statues staring at him with their wings broadly spread-out. He began to sweat profusely when he heard some movements behind him. He slowly turned around only to see the gigantic stone Dragon statue flying with an angry face.

All the fibers of his bones and his entire body was screaming danger as he knew he was gonna have to run with his life on the line. The five Dragons didn't give him any time to make a move. They rained down flames on him.

Xiao Yan miraculously dodged although he was grazed. Xiao Yan began running while manipulating his flame energy to propel his speed. While he was running, he noticed that the Dragons didn't pursue further. When he turned around, no noticed that the stone statues now looked like real Dragons. The stone part of their body began to peel open to expose their pitch black bodies.

The bigger Dragon wasn't nearly as big as Ancalagon, but was way bigger than the thunder Dragon he fought at thunder realm. After they were done shedding their bodies, the five Dragons bolted towards. Although their speed was too outstanding, Xiao Yan didn't even have the time to be getting impressed by their speed as they were catching up with him.

He ran like his life depended on it. He forced his flame force to the extreme as unknowingly, the color of his flames was turning Golden little by little. He didn't care to wonder how fast he was getting. All he knew was that he needed to reach the exit as fast as possible. The scary part of it all was how fast the Dragons were catching up. Now he knew that wyverns and Dragons were world apart. The speed and viciousness were world apart.

He was about reaching the exit when the Dragons breathed out flames that caught up to him in no time. He immediately propelled his flames by the side maneuvering through the left part of the flames and running on the walls of the coliseum. The Dragons didn't stop with the flames. They continued pushing Xiao Yan to the sides with their flames.

Xiao Yan thought it was just their lack of intelligence until he saw the five Dragons make a circular formation preparing to breathe a huge one. The bigger Dragon waiting for this opportunity flew high trying to be at the center of the formation. It's speed was not something to be joked about. It was so fast that Xiao Yan almost didn't see him move. The Dragon suddenly raised his head up as his throat lightened up generating heat that even Xiao Yan could feel from the distance.

"Is this the power….. of a Dragon…"

............

Xiao Yan had not been seen by the students and they were beginning to get worried. They were all gathered at the arena, expecting an explanation from the teachers. All the teachers looked down with a worried gaze as they themselves didn't have answers to the questions the students were raring to ask.

Suddenly Ancalagon jumped from the high podium where the disappointed teachers laid and landed on the arena where the students were.

"What's this? I didn't know wussy children were being trained here. What the fuck are you lil mutts staring at? You're looking for Xiao Yan, right? Let me let you in on a little story that I think you all should know. Are you fucking pussies aware that the earth you know will soon be a battle zone for spirit and semi-immortal beings?" There was a huge wave of murmurs now as everyone was confused.

"I am Ancalagon, the greatest flame Dragon the world had ever known."

Suddenly Ancalagon transformed into huge Dragon that was so huge till he broke through the gigantic school arena shattering the roof. He stood like a great insurmountable mountain with pressure as deadly as nothing they have ever seen before.

"Listen to me you little mutts." Ancalagon said with a roar that broke all the glasses of the school. "It is time for war!!! The day we have all been training for is upon us!"
