Chapter 6 - My Brother

Frans invites his future wife to visit a shopping center to just unwind before facing their wedding day.

Beatrix accidentally saw Joana who was seen holding the arm of a man Beatrix did not know.

The woman invited Frans to approach Joana.

"Joana!" Beatrix shouted calling the girl, Joana then turned to the source of the voice. He smiled at the bride and groom who would soon be married.

The two women embraced so warmly, because ever since working at Edgars club, Beatrix had been Joana's first friend.

Beatrix introduced Frans because neither Joana nor Frans had known each other before, they had only heard of Beatrix's story.

"Frans, this is the girl I told you about. She's Joana Maxwell," Beatrix said, introducing Joana.

Frans reached out his hand and was warmly welcomed by the girl named Joana.

"Nice to meet you in person, Miss and thank you for all the advice you gave. Because thanks to you we are better than before, even Beatrix has changed in every way to become a better person and I really like the change," said Frans sincerely. .

"No need to thank Tuab, I'm happy to be able to help Beatrix and be happy with your wedding plans. Beatrix always talks about you," said Joana, who even teased Beatrix at the end of her sentence making Frans' future wife blush.

"No need to be so formal, just call me Frans!" Joana just nodded, while the young man beside her was silent without daring to interrupt their conversation until Beatrix asked Joana.

"Who is this young man? Is he your date Joana?" Beatrix teased Joana by raising and lowering her eyebrows, making the girl glared in disgust.

"Tsk, no! This is Garry, my brother!" Joana pulled Garry's arm slightly away from him.

"Oh, I don't know because you never tell me. Every time I meet you, I'll tell you about Fr...." Beatrix's words trailed off, she was embarrassed to admit that she often talked about Frans while the object she often talked about was beside her.

"Talk about France!" Joana continued Beatrix's hanging remarks, making Frans smile seductively at his future wife, while Beatrix was already looking down in shame.

Beatrix could only pat Joana who continued to tease her but Joana only chuckled at seeing Beatrix looking shy. They separated because they have different goals.

Garry invites his brother to eat, watch movies, and go shopping. They both looked like lovers on a date to those who didn't know their relationship, especially when Joana took Garry's hand.

Joana herself did not feel uncomfortable with the judgment of people who considered the two of them lovers even before she left the Wilson residence, she had often commented that they were lovers.

Garry even admits Joana as his lover to women who always try to approach him, apparently the method used by Garry is indeed effective for some women they choose to withdraw but some feel challenged to compete with Joana.

Sometimes Joana laughs at the story of her sister who admits that they are lovers, without the women knowing the truth because Garry is too lazy to treat women's attitudes which he sometimes finds unpredictable.

Joana spent time with her sister until the afternoon, Garry escorted Joana to the apartment that is now occupied by him.

They both talked a lot throughout the day and even Garry told him that his father Edrick Wilson had a lucrative partnership, but Joana wasn't the least bit interested in stories about the people who had kicked him out or any stories about his relationship with the Wilson family except for his sister.

Garry gaped at Joana's apartment which was so spacious and luxurious.

"It's very luxurious and spacious, Sis!" said Garry with his eyes around looking at every corner of the apartment room that looks neat.

"Yes, even you feel bad if you have to live here without paying, but the owner of this apartment forces you to live without paying as long as you take good care of this apartment," he said while putting down a glass of Garry's favorite strawberry juice.

"Thank you, my sister," Garry gulped down the juice until the remaining half. "So this isn't my sister's apartment?" asked Garry.

"Of course not, where would I have that kind of money to rent an apartment as luxurious as this?"

"Then whose is this?" asked Garry curiously.

"This apartment belongs to my guardian angel, his name is Edgar Kenedy." Then Joana's story flows when she leaves the Wilson residence to meet Edgar and works at his nightclub and occupies the apartment that is now.

"What? You work in a night club? But you've never been to a place like that before, so how did you get to work in such a terrible place as a nightclub?" Garry was shocked when he heard his brother was working in a nightclub, even though the young man had been everywhere.

"Yes, you're right if you've never been in a place like that. But have you forgotten what Edrick Wilson said when you kicked me out? If I couldn't get a job anywhere, because of his power that would have shut down all ways to make me a pathetic tramp, But God still loves me. When I was abandoned by my family, God sent his angel to help me. He did a lot in my brother's life, Garry." Joana recalled with a sad look.

Garry hugged his brother as if to channel his strength, he knew that since childhood Joana had never received fair treatment from her parents. Although he is seven years older than Joana himself, Garry is a mature-minded person, because he remembers his brother's words that age is just a number, not a measure of one's maturity. Because sometimes even adults can act childish.

"So what did Joana work in a nightclub? I don't want my sister to do strange things, let alone to...?" asked Garry after letting go of his arms and hanging his words because he didn't feel good saying it.

Joana flicked her sister's forehead in exasperation.

"I'm still loyal to take care of it, I would never give it if it wasn't for people who really deserve it! I work as a consultant for broken-hearted people, it sounds weird but it can make money and I'm still safe," said Joana, making her sister breathe a sigh of relief .

"Thankfully, I can't forgive myself if you fall into things that can harm you, by the way, your job is unique too. Being a consultant to people who are brokenhearted, have you ever dated?" Garry even teased his brother.

Joana rolled her eyes at Garry's teasing. "You remember the woman we met at the shopping center this afternoon? That's one example. You heard that the two of them eventually got married and it couldn't be separated from my interference." Joana said proudly.

"Okay, I trust you. So you work every day at the club?"

"Actually yes, but sometimes I also take time off to just rest or go somewhere to calm my heart to think about it."

"Wow, how poetic."

Joana glared at Garry, she knew that the man was trying to comfort her, but Joana didn't need it. Having Garry here made Joana happy beyond words.

"Sis, I have to go home! It's already late, next time I will definitely visit big brother." Garry said goodbye because it was already nine in the evening.

"You're right Garry, then take your brother to the club over there. That club is where I work now." Joana is also getting ready to go to the club.

The two of them were still joking around in front of the elevator, but again, Joana had to meet a hot-mouthed person like Sean when the elevator door opened.

Luckily the man didn't make a fuss which made Joana feel relieved.

Joana passed Sean while dragging Garry's arm, she was lazy if she didn't leave immediately, Sean's scathing words would soon come out to insult him.

Sean saw the elevator door that was closing and he was surprised why he didn't insult Joana, even though usually every time they met Sean would always comment.

Not wanting to think much, Felix entered his apartment to clean himself up.

While Joana went to the club with her sister, she happened to have an appointment today with someone who wanted to ask her for advice.

After arriving at the club, Garry said goodbye, the young man left many messages so that Joana could take care of herself.

"I'm going home, sister, be careful! If there's anything, call me, and don't forget to eat and get enough rest, understand! Oh, yes one more thing! Don't forget to always take vitamins! I love you brother." Garry had a long word before actually letting Joana in.

Joana was touched to hear the form of her sister's attention, she felt loved sincerely and was considered like a human. Joana hugged Garry before the young man darted out of the club.
