CHAPTER 10: LUCID THOUGHTS
There was only a person, who probably didn't leave their room, throughout that day, for anything at all, in that town, and that person was Michael. Michael stayed in his room throughout the day after Mia, left him and went to school. He decided to go to school tomorrow as a new day student. Day School.
Vampires weren't supposed to walk in daylight but they had a special ring that they wore, which prevented the sun from peeling their skins right out of their bones. He decided not to think about that. Besides, he was still lost in thoughts, as what Mia, came to him, that day came rushing back to his mind. He was at a loss of what to do. Who knew that a girl like Mia who rattle him up this badly?
Damn it. He hated this feeling. Mia had asked him, if vampires found their mates the same way werewolves did. Or did they just choose they wanted it to be? Mostly it was vampires and vampires, and in some rare cases, vampire and humans, but the human wouldn't survive childbirth, but vampires and werewolves?! It was highly unlikely. But Mia and Gaia, had a brother who wasn't a wolf or a vampire. Actually the mayor and his wife were both wolves, and the mystery surrounding Gaia being a vampire, still irked him out, because it was impossible.
Also, he had not heard of anyone that found a werewolf as their mate. It was way too different. Vampires kills for fun, werewolves don't, vampires are immortal, werewolves aren't, no psychic connection, no mating rituals. It was like trying to fit an elephant through a needle. It was impossible.
Sighing, he removed his glasses and placed on the table, as he laid back on the giant soft bed. He looked at the ceilings which was pure white as his mind drifted to thoughts. Blood, the smell. The delight, the taste…he could feel his fangs itching as he tried to push it back, in.
Just then there was a knock on the door, startling him, from his reverie as Gaia zapped in with her superhuman speed, and sat on the chair, in a twinkling of an eye.
"You know, if you are going to enter my room, without permission, then there is no need for you to be knocking on the door. And I know locking it won't solve the issue, a mere kick would send it flying off its hinges. Michael said sitting upright as he faced his cousin.
"Yeah, sorry about that. I guess I couldn't wait till you invited me, besides it is not as if you had a girl over, or do you? she said looking around the room as Michael rolled his eyes and said,
Do I look like the type of person, that have time for girls? Why would I even talk to those dreadful creatures, in the first place. They had no reason to even exist, no offense though. He said raising an eyebrow at Gaia, who just shrugged and said.
"I don't know why you hate girls so much, but I really hope that you get over it, because tomorrow you are going to meet them and they will fawn over you and probably chase you as if you are a celebrity. Michael frowned immediately hearing these as Gaia raised her hand up, in the air, as a sign of surrender and said slowly,
"All I am saying is that, I know, growing up you were locked up a lot and you didn't see your mum, or there were no girls back there, only males so it affected you, but I am a girl, Mia is a girl too, my mum is a woman. We are probably the only females you have talked to, but girls are not really that bad. They are cool, too. You can even crush on one, in school. You don't have to hate all girls who aren't related to you, you know. Gaia said as Michael stood up, with haste as he replied,
"Stop, I don't want to talk about the past, it is enough. Is there a reason, why you came? He asked changing the topic, as Gaia shook her head saying.
"Well, I wanted to know if you were going to walk with me, tonight. But I think it was a bad idea. I wanted us to hunt, you know, just small animals here and there. Nothing too big. Gaia continued shrugging her shoulders as Michael looked at her.
"You know, that I abstain from drinking blood right. Why would I want to hunt with you, at all?
"I didn't say that you were going to drink it. I just wanted to see if your skills were getting rusty or… never mind. I just wanted a companion, you know. Gaia said standing up, as she turned to leave when Michael held her hand saying,
"Give me two minutes to change into something more fitting and I will go with you. I guess I better get acquainted with the world, a bit. You know. He smiled at her, as she smiled back happily hugging him tightly, before letting go.
"Awesome, I am off, to tell the mayor, where we are off to, I am coming. Gaia said skipping out of the room, as he said after her,
"You know, you wouldn't lose your immortality if you called him dad, once in a while. But she was already gone.
Shaking his head, he went to the wardrobe, as he pulled in a black hoodie and wore it, his curly hair, disentangling as he ruffled the collars a little bit, before wearing the hood. He changed his pants to a sweats pant, and then wore his sneakers. All his attires were black. He looked like a dare devil Greek God of beauty. Smirking in the mirror, he allowed his eye colors to change briefly to ash, before taking his usual green eye color and walked out of the room.
He met Gaia, on the staircase waiting for him, she was dressed too, in the same outfit like him only that hers were of the color black, and she wore boots, not sneakers.
