Chapter 5 - I'm Not Your Maid (2)

I turned to Papa who looked at us leaving with a confused face. After some distance, I freed myself from Mas Azzam's grip.

"What the hell, Mas. You deliberately keep me away from Papa. What do you mean, Mas?" I asked angrily.

"Shh, lower your voice, Ra. I did take you away from Papa on purpose. Do you want Papa to get sick too like Mama?" snapped Mas Azzam.

Now he's the one speaking loudly. Just forbid me to speak loudly. Basically, the man is not clear. Of course I dubbed him as an obscure man. If he was a real man, he would definitely defend his wife who was pregnant with his child. Not even agreeing to be matched with me.

"What do you mean, sir?"

"If you tell Papa everything, he will be surprised. If your Papa's heart hurts like Mama, how do you want both of your parents to be sick?" I was silent hearing Mas Azzam's reasoning.

There is also truth in what he said, Mama is sick and Papa must be very worried about him. His mind must be in a mess and if it's added to the problems I'm facing, I don't know what will happen to Papa.

Stupid, I didn't think that far. I breathed in annoyance, it seemed I had to cover up Mas Azzam's rottenness for a while. Everything will be revealed when the time is right. Looks like it's for the best at the moment.

-----

A week later, Mas Azzam and I will go to Medan by airplane. Now, Mas Azzam and I are already on the plane. Mama's health has improved somewhat, actually I have a reason to stay at Mama's house. However, Mama forced me to follow Mas Azzam wherever he went. Mama reassured me that she was fine.

Besides, there is still Cleo who will take care of Mama and Papa now. Finally, with a heavy heart I followed Mas Azzam back to his overseas in the city of Medan. Before leaving, last night I made an agreement with Mas Azzam. We both made a commitment that our marriage was just an arrangement.

While in Medan later, I have to admit to being Mas Azzam's younger brother to the neighbors there. I really agree with Mas Azzam's plan. However, I also put a condition, that he should not touch me forever. At first he objected, but I threatened to tell his neighbors there that I was Mas Azzam's wife.

He was afraid of my threats, so he couldn't help but agree to my terms. The notification from the flight attendant that our plane will be leaving soon snapped me out of my thoughts. Soon I will meet Mas Azzam's wife. How should I behave then?

---

"Eh, Mas Azzam has come home. How are his parents doing. Have they recovered. Oh, who is this that Mas brought, how are you so beautiful?" A fertile woman greeted us. Mas Azzam and I just got off the taxi that took us from Kuala Namu Airport earlier.

I was surprised by the fertile mother's question earlier. However, I immediately understood that Mas Azzam and his wife must have reasoned that Mas Azzam returned yesterday to see his sick parents. It turns out that Mas Azzam's house here is not too big. It is also in the middle of a densely populated residential area. Not in a luxury housing complex like I imagined.

"In this case, I'm going to fight every day with the neighbors, I think," I moaned softly. I looked at the neighbors who were staring at us with great curiosity. Mas Azzam glanced at me then invited me into the house. A beautiful woman with a smile greeted our arrival. He greeted me and then hugged Mas Azzam affectionately.

Then, the woman sobbed in Mas Azzam's arms. "You have to be patient, dear. Clara has agreed, really, that she will claim to be Mas's sister while she is here. Anyway, no one here will know!" persuaded Mas Azzam.

"It's nice for you to say something like that, what you don't know is the mouths of the mothers here. How could that person believe that, just that your new aunt should never leave the house!" scolded his wife Mas Azzam. Wow! It turned out that Mbak Winda was not what I expected. I thought she was a gentle woman. However, it turned out that his attitude was very barbaric and rude.

"I'm sorry, Ma'am. I can't stay at home forever. Am I under house arrest or else, it's like this. I just live in another house, which is far from you!" I suggest.

"Heh, don't call me Ma'am. Call me Sister. You know! How do you think I'm the herbal medicine lady who passes by every morning?!" Ma'am argued, uh, Sis Winda. I glanced at Mas Azzam who was sitting pensive in his chair.

"No, Ra. Mas can't afford to rent another house. You have to stay here, until Mas can find the right way out," said Mas Azzam.

I pursed my lips, looks like I have to hang on here. I hope that Sis Winda only has a fussy mouth.

"You heard that, so as long as you stay here. Help me take care of the house! Cook, wash, clean the house too. You know that I'm pregnant? So I can't work too tired," said Sis Winda casually.

Wow, I can't let this go. She started messing with me. I glanced back at Mas Azzam, he was just silent and didn't respond to Sis Winda's words earlier.

"I'm sorry, Sis! I was brought by Mas Azzam here as a wife, not a maid in this house. Besides, before I came, who took care of the house. You are alone, right? I see you are fine," I replied with hold grudges.

It's good that he wants to make me a maid. Coming here is also not what I wanted, he can't do anything to me!

"Honey, look at your new wife. You want to be her lady in this house!" shouted Sis Winda.

"Come on! Stop your arguing! I'm dizzy, Clara, you can help Winda. He ...."

"No Ferguso, I don't want to. I can take care of myself. This is your house, so you guys Just take care of it. Where's my room? I'm tired, I want to rest!" reject me. Mas Azzam and Kak Winda looked surprised to see me. So stupid, I thought. They don't know who Clara really is.
