The kingdom of Cipriano was known for skills and strength in battle.
After the death of the late King the throne has been empty. The people of Cipriano are waiting patiently for the king's son, Henry, to come back from his seven years of trainning.
When i got to the palace,
I was astonished at the size and beauty of the palace.
"State your business" said one of the guards to me.
"I am looking for Mike".
The body guard looked at me and turned towards the gate house
"Allow Passage!!!" he shouted in a loud voice.
"Brody!" He shouts again.
A young man in armor approched him.
"Take her to Mike" he commanded him pointing at me.
I followed the man as we walked towards the palace.
As i followed him i admired the palace surrounding. There were statues of gods and the trees were beautiful.
He eventually stopped at a door and knocked twice.
"Come in " said a voice from inside the room.
The soldier opened the door and we both entered.
At the right side of the room was an old man. He was bent over a table filled with so many weird potions.
"Sir, this is the lady you were expecting",He said
I suspected he must be Mike.
The old man nodded and the soldier left.
"Whats your name?" he asked me not bothering to look at me.
"Eleanor."
"Do you have the ring?"
I nod quickly and dropped it on the table.
He examined the ring and then turned to me.
Do you have any experince with medicine?"
I scratched my neck nervously and answered very quietly. "No.."
"Hmmm" Mike replied.
"But i am very good in umm.. housekeeping, cooking and running errands. I am also a very fast learner "i stammer.
The man stood up right and observed me
"Well, i am in need of an errand boy or a girl. You would make sure this place in neat and orderly, help me run errands. Your salary would be paid every month. You would be paid every month." He said and went back to mixing potions.
"You mean i got the job?" I asked surprised.
"Ofcourse, or am i talking to myself."
"Thank you, thank you i will not disappoint you."
He nods.
"When you leave, take a left and keep walking till you see a stair case, go down that stair case and take your right. Keep walking untill you see the laundry room. Ask for Mary, tell her that you are my assistant and i said she should take you to the servant quarters."
I nodded and left feeling giddy.
I followed Mike's directions and easily found the laundry room.
In the laudry room were about twenty women washing. I asked for Mary and i was directed to her.
I told Mary what Mike said and she told me to follow her immediately.
We walked towards the servant quarters and Mary directed me to a small office.
Inside the offfice sat an elderly woman.
Mary introduced me to the woman as Mike's assistant.
When Mary left, the woman asked me some questions and i answered truthfully.
"My name is Pamela but every one calls me Mama P. Follow me, i would direct you to your room."
We took the stairs to the third floor. As we walked i noticed there were a lot of rooms in each floor. Pamela finally stopped infront of a door.
She unlocked the room and we both entered
The room was simple but neat. It had to beds at each sides of the room, a trunk with a chair and table.
"This is your room. For now, you don't have a roommate. Tomorrow your measurement would be taken and by the end of the week you will get your uniforms."
You served the Elston family, so you are familiar with the rules."
"Yes". I answered nodding.
"Good. Lunch is by 3pm,make friends so that you will learn faster." She said and left.
I sat down feeling happy. I decided to sleep.
I had a weird dream, I was in a forest and the moon was full and very bright.
Elenanor said a voice
Who's there? I asked. I looked around me but all I could see were trees.
It sounded like the person was beside me but I could not see anyone.
But I was not scared one bit, infact I felt at ease.
"Eleanor, I am always within you." Said a voice .
I looked up at the moon and saw a figure but I could not make out it's form.
As I sat among other servants and ate my dinner, I thought about the dream. I have had weird dreams where I find myself in the forest. These dreams have been unclear to me until recently.
I remembered that I have had the same dream days ago when I still served the Elstons.
Thinking of my dream was beginning to give me a headache. I decided not to dwell on it so much, if the gods were trying to tell me something, it will be revealed in due time.
