"Loriel!" Alex excitedly exclaimed and hugged the teenager who had just arrived.
"I missed you too little Alex" said Loriel as he crouched and returned the boy's hug. He then shifted his gaze and saw the smiling face of Ranney.
"Hello Miss Ranney" he greeted waving his hand from behind Alex.
"I'm not going to say a word to you till you call me grandma" Ranney spoke with a small smile on her face.
"Hello Grandma" he re-did his greeting and Ranney seemed happier to hear him address her as grandmother. Her wide smile was clear evidence of how happy she was to have him.
"Now that's better" responded Ranney "now, come and give your grandmother a hug" she added as she rose from her chair and spread her arms.
Loriel separated himself from Alex and made his way toward her. He then hugged her like she had wanted and separated.
"Look at you, all dashing and grown up" complimented Ranney "I'm sure all those pretty princesses in the city are chasing after you left and right"
"Come on grandma, it's not like that" Loriel said as he scratched the back of his head. His face was all red from embarrassment. He then noticed something dark black and shiny on the floor and reached to touch it. He saw that it was long and extended to two sides.
To the other side which was a bit far away from the table, it coiled and reached about half his height. He looked confused and looked to the other side it extended.
Following it, he saw a person who was busy eating a chicken thigh but his eyes were on him. His black eyes were scary as they were like a void that would pull you in if you kept staring. He instinctively took a few steps backwards from fear.
"Let go of my hair" spoke the person adding to Loriel's fear. His voice which was deep and profound caused Loriel to pee his pants and lose all power in his legs.
*thud*
He fell on the floor and immediately let go of the hair.
Ranney who saw this rushed to his side:
"Are you alright?" She helped him off the floor and started checking his temperature by placing her hand on his fore-head. She had not seen what had caused Lucriel to behave the way he did.
Then again, how could she have seen it?
In Lucriel's perspective, Arnour's cold face along with his words brought about fear in his heart. This had all been caused by Arnour. Even he himself did not know of it.
........................…..
After regaining his composure, Loriel sat on one of the chairs along with Alex and Ranney. From time to time, he would sneak a peek at Arnour as he had become very cautious of him.
"What is he? Even with all my blessed power, I feel like I'm looking at a beast' his thoughts wandered trying to think of a plausible identity of the boy.
'It's strange though that I cannot sense anything from him, his lifeforce or any heat is non-existent. It's like I'm looking at a ghost right now'
Loriel closed his eyes and used his power called, true vision. This power allowed him to see the truth about things whether they were physical or spiritual without alerting the target or even staring at it. He could use his ability on anyone or anything as long as it was within ten meters from him.
Upon closing his eyes, he way first welcomed by darkness, however it all changed in the next five seconds. The darkness was replaced by an expansion of white. Within his vision of white, there were many dots of different colours which represented objects and living things within the range of ten meters.
*!!!*
He was shocked by what he saw. There were only two dots which represented life forces close to him.
He could only see Ranney and Alex...….
'How can this be possible, he is sitting right Infront of me'
Suddenly, Arnour pushed back his chair causing everyone to look at him including Loriel. Arnour did not even bother to say anything to them and just walked out without even saying thank you for the food. Though he had chosen to stay in their home, he had no intention of getting any closer to them. His hatred for people was still profound. He had no intention befriending of rusting anyone.
"Sigh"
Ranney seeing his attitude sighed. She really could not understand him. She and her grandson had never insulted him or done anything bad, rather, they had done him good and gave him a place to stay.
But the lad kept on giving them the cold shoulder without reason.
'If anything, he should be thanking us or building a decent trust to us' Ranney thought as she looked at his leaving back. She really wanted him to at least treat them nicely.
When she retracted her gaze from Arnour's back, she felt a serios gaze on her. Upon looking in the direction it was coming from, she saw Loriel staring at her with a serios expression on his face.
"Grandma, who is that person?" Loriel asked as he profoundly stared at Ranney. He had been waiting for him to leave and finally inquire about him. The danger he had felt from just being stared at by him was something he could not just ignore. That and the fact that the guy could not be detected by his true vision.
The guy was just too mysterious...…...
.................................…..
After Arnour left the dining room, he intended to go and continue from where he had left off in the farm. However, the moment he opened the exit door, rain started pouring intensely.
Lightning and thunder started taking action making him say goodbye to his plans. Since he couldn't do work under the rain, he decided to go and check if the livestock were safe and in place, Ranney had warned him of how tenacious and naughty those animals get.
For the sake of walking properly, he collected his hair into a bunch and tied some of it around his boy from the waist up. He then started walking to where the livestock were kept with slow steps as he didn't care much about the heavy downpour.
As he was walking, he noticed something in a far distance.
"Wow!?"
Two humans wearing blue tight fit body armour and had large swords behind their backs. What made him shocked was...…...
They were flying.
A golden aura surrounded their bodies as they were flying at a speed comparable to that of a car running at sixty-kilometres per hour. He observed them with a shocked expression until they left the reach of his sight.
For a long time in his life, he had been trapped by his father in the mansion with devils as company. Day after day, life for him there was struggle and adding to that, he had never been allowed to see the outside world.
He didn't know that humans had the ability to fly and release golden auras since he had never seen anyone do it,
Then again, he himself had done something he had never known he was capable of when he released the lightning orbs in his fit of anger.
After deliberating for a while, he just simply thought of it as something all humans could do.
He then continued walking, however..........
*BAM*
When he had just barely taken more than five steps, something suddenly shrouded his entire vision and in the next second, he was sent flying.........….

To all those who read my novel, please support me as your support is my motivation for dropping more chapters and writing.
