He started running, skipping two steps at a time. It may have seemed like a tedious task at first but now that he was actually doing it, it felt like an excellent challenge. A wild grin formed on his face. Soon the sound of feet echoed loudly through the stairwell. Tyler didn't feel the burden expected of someone who was going through over 600 steps.
His mind entered a trance like state, everything in the world seemed to have faded away. He was as free as a bird. The energy of the world, which will be known as mana, swirled toward him. His body absorbed it like a sponge. His aura soared and his eyes flashed with a slightly golden glow but how could Tyler know this. The energy was converted to Force almost effortlessly, it swarm through his body like a tsunami wave carrying with it all the impurities. Within his heart a small pebble sized circular object glowed vibrantly.
This object was known as a spirit core. Everyone from the age of the wizard Merlin, King Arthur, Alexander The Great and many more humans had known about this but unfortunately Merlin was forced to seal away the planet's potential for mana, indirectly sealing away the mana potential for every creature on the planet, in order to prevent the demise if the human race. Nowadays the only ones who knew about it were the ancient werewolf race, a few exceptional humans known as cultivators and lastly the vampires though this was before they moved out of the world for a better one which wasn't sealed. These people had special methods of breaking through the seal and unlocking their spirit cores. Though it would still be a far cry from their true potentials if the world wasn't sealed.
It these people knew that a mere former assassin/mercenary/ACD government agent had actually managed to breakthrough, there would be an uproar because to these people, without such methods doing so was considered impossible and in truth it actually was, that is before the seal placed by Merlin started to crumble but now? It was slowly breaking down and soon the world would be changed forever, cultures from the past would emerge, threats of the past that were sealed and even threats from the vast Multiverse would emerge!
Tyler's spirit core pulsed as it drew Force into itself before absorbing the excess Force Energy and settling down once more this time it wasn't fully dormant but rather it was as if it was waiting for something, the final push that would introduce Tyler to a new world of infinite possibilities.
Tyler's trance like state finally ended and his mind focused once more. When it did, he felt his senses envelop his surroundings at an approximate range of about 50 meters. He could feel the stairs behind him as if he was seeing them, he could even feel the remnants of the 'mana' that had once swirled through the surroundings. It was only now that he could finally see that he had actually reached the 50th stairwell and was even standing in front of the door that led to the roof and on top of that with his renowned senses he could now 'see' a man wearing light combat gear aiming and firing a sniper rifle into the distance. He could feel everything the man did as if he were seeing it with his own eyes.
If Tyler was a merely a tiger before, right now he was akin to a tiger with freaking wings! Even Tyler was dumbfounded by this sudden development. He even felt his heart skip a beat with indescribable excitement. But he suddenly remembered that the man was the sniper and was probably shooting at Mr. Bright, if so then he might very well have to move fast or else Mr. Bright might lose his life.
But what happened next was as sudden as a danger level 5 thunderstorm appearing out of nowhere and the worst part was that it was only attacking him! A wracking pain travelled through his body like a seismic wave. His internal organs trembling slightly as they worked in overdrive. His kidneys felt swelled and his heart pumped his blood with an extra pressure, his veins threatening to pop.
If anyone was watching this they would probably think he was suffering from an extreme poison. The pores on his skin released a sweat-like material that had a putrid smell far stronger than that of a rotten egg. The liquid also came out in streaks through his ears and nostrils. His stomach and lungs tightened and he bent on his stomach, suddenly and forcefully a dark-black liquid was expelled from his mouth, these were his accumulated impurities. The process even more painful. Tyler felt his eyes sting as tears threatened to spill out.
He didn't know what was happening to him.
He stayed in his position for a total of ten minutes. Tyler could only hope that Mr. Bright could manage to survive for a longer period of time.
Tyler continued to expel the putrid and toxic impurities for another five minutes before the process finally completed. When he finally wiped the corners of his mouth with his sleeve. Though he just went through a ton of pain, he felt somehow refreshed as if he had been taking a nice long nap. He looked at the mess he just made but didn't think too much of it, right now the sniper was the priority. He reached for the door knob and pulled.
The next instant his eyes widened in shock before his eyes narrowed. Just now when he pulled the door open, the strength he used was far more than what he was accustomed to. The door was immediately ripped off its hinges and slammed into the railings of the stairwell.
What the hell! Tyler internally screamed he looked from the door to the empty doorframe to the door again. He couldn't possibly fathom what he was seeing. Suddenly he caught the movements of the sniper shift through his senses, it truly felt like Tyler was directly seeing him in a form far clearer than ultra 4k.
This would be equivalent to what they called a major cheat in video games.
