Chapter 51 - Chapter 50: Off on a business trip

Tom had been on the phone for twenty minutes at most and during that time Wilfred stood and waited patiently.

When the call ended. Tom abruptly stood up and said in a serious expression.

"I'll be off to Washington tomorrow. Have the maids prepare my luggage," Tom ordered in a firm voice.

"Yes master," Wilfred acknowledged with a bow. "and the young master should I inform him of your departure?"

Tom shook his head. "No need. I'll do it on my own. Besides it's been a while since I last talked to him"

Wilfred bowed before walking off to carry out Tom's orders.

"*sigh* I hope this all blows over smoothly," he finally whispered before he too set off.

Knock, knock, knock

The knocking awoke Nate from his nap. He lazily opened his eyes and the first thing he did was check the time.

18:45

Rubbing his eyes, Nate got out of bed and opened the door. His eyes widened when he realized that the one knocking was his father.

"Are you really that surprised to see me?" his father frowned slightly

"Uh…" Nate didn't honestly know how to respond to that.

"Mind if I come in," his father spoke after the awkward silence.

"Sure thing," Nate stepped away from the door and went on to sit on his bed. His father proceeded to follow and sit beside him.

Silence.

"So how is school?" his father asked him not knowing how to strike up a conversation.

"Fine I guess…" Nate replied. This also seemed to be an awkward conversation for him. This was no surprise though, the two of them rarely talked as his father would usually be in his study room doing work or he'd work from the office.

"Wilfred told me that you've been down lately"

"Yeah. It sbeen suffocating lately. I cant walk with my friends to chill after school, I can't peacefully go out without someone following me. Its frustratingly annoying!" Nate replied.

Silence…

"Son I know it must be hard but I promise this will be over soon," Tom said to his son in a low voice filled with emotion.

"That's what you said last week as well and where are we?"

"*sigh* I'll be heading for Washington tomorrow to finish the deal. Once that's done it'll all be over soon so rest assured son" his father promised before standing up and leaving quietly.

Nate stared at him as he walked out the door and a smile could be seen on his face as his heart pounded with excitement at the thought of finally having his freedom back.

The next day Nate woke up early. He was really looking forward to this day because his father would be off to finish up the contract and he could finally invite Rochelle and Tyler to his home.

After taking a bath and putting on his Crimson Academy uniform. He looked really nice like the heir of a multi-billion dollar company should appear.

Walking to a glamorous dining room he sat down and had a scrumptious breakfast while a maid stood beside him.

"Ah excuse me. Has dad already left?" Nate asked while eating.

"Yes young master he left while you were still asleep"

With a sigh Nate got up with a slightly disappointed look on his face. He had wanted to see his father off but it seemed that was not possible since he was already gone.

Few minutes later Nate rode a black fancy looking Benz leaving the black gates of the Chisel Manor.

From a rather long distance away, a tall building stood at a distance of approximately 1 kilometer away from the manor. Stationed on the roof was a man in his early forties perched on the edge of the roof. He was clothed in dark clothes and he peered through the scope of an M110 SASS sniper rifle. He could see Nate's car driving out of the gates.

As soon as he saw this, the man quickly brought out a radio to his lips as he said:

"The target has left the compound"

"Good work Skip keep an eye out while Drake and Vinny set up the charges," a male voice responded from the other end of the radio.

"Rodger" Skip replied. He put down the radio and continued to diligently keep watched of the Manor especially the activities of the guards. "This job is going to be some easy money.

A pure white private plane landed had just landed. It had the Chisel Tech logo on its tail wing. Its doors opened and a man elegantly dressed in a black business suit stepped out. He had black hair and an air of confidence around him. Stepping down a timid man in a suit also followed behind him while carrying a briefcase. This man looked to be in his early fifties with slight wrinkles on his face and his black hair had strands of gray hair mixed in it. This man was Mr. Griffle and he was the legal advisor for Chisel Tech and he had been part of the organization for a total of fifty years.

"It seems the air is fresher than I expected here in Washington," Mr. Griffle spoke. As he stepped down the steps. Waiting at the bottom were two men in green military uniform with several medals straped across the breast pocket of the uniform.

"Mr. Tom Chisel it's a pleasure to have you with us today. I am Private Sam Morgan and this if Corporal Jordan Snow," one of the military men with a brown mustache and short brown hair greeted them.

"Pleasure to meet you sergeant. This is my legal advisor Mr. Griffle," Tom replied.

"No first name?" Jordan Snow asked. He was a burly man with a completely shaved head and no moustache or beard at all.

"Just Griffle," Mr. Griffle replied with a blank expression.

"Right…This way please," Sam Morgan said as he and Jordan led them to a dull green colored jeep. They drove off the plane tracks and immediately headed off to the location of the meeting which was unknown even to Tom. But he would receive the shook of his life soon enough.
