"Fair enough," Seojun said with a smile. "My name is Seojun Kang and I'm the lord of the streets in Reinfield.
In other words. I'm the king of this city"
"king of this city?" the words repeated themselves in my head. What the hell did this guy named Seojun mean?
"I'm the gang lord of this city kid" Seojun said as he went one to explain how he was able to gather information on me in such a short time and partially how he was able to find Houston's main base was through the man I tortured in the abandoned steel pipe factory and also one of his men had seen one of Houston's construction vans…particularly the one that had taken Laura, cruising down the highway at a really high speeds. After his man followed it to Mac-Constructions he relayed the information to the boss.
And taking a huge gamble decided to deploy his twelve strongest men who were slightly efficient in using Qi to launch an attack. To there surprise the defence around Houston's base was scarce almost negligible and it was only after Rock had ordered some of his men to take a look around until they found a couple of dead bodies. Some with their throats cut cleanly, others with bullet holes either in their head or chest and sometimes even both.
Had a disagreement happened within Houston's faction? Such a thing was a highly unlikely so Seojun and Rock assumed that maybe a third party was involved.
They arrived at the front entrance of the main building and another surprise! Kim was seeming hiding behind the side of the door while peeking inside with a some what anxious look. With a relieved sigh in his heart, Seojun approached her and surprised her by tapping her shoulder lightly only to be surprised somewhat again that his once kind and carefree niece incapable of causing harm to someone else had actually slashed at him with a blade…
"And then from there it was when Rock stepped in as ordered and helped you continue to fight" Seojun finished explaining his part of the story only leaving out the part about Qi and other details.
I thought about what he had just said to me and I too explained a part of mine though only from the part where the man on the bike first attacked me, I didn't explain about Rochelle because he had no benefit of knowing about her.
"What I don't understand is why the fat old man would man would come after me" I finally voiced out one of the most puzzling things that were nagging at the back of my head.
"Fat old man?" Seojun looked at me quizzically before he suddenly burst out laughing
"Ha ha ha ha! You mean the pig surnamed Macdonald! His name was Houston Macdonald"
Macdonald! I had a feeling that it might have been slightly related to the little punk who tried to jump on my sister but I still had to be sure to I asked:
"Houston Macdonald? As in Brandon Macdonald?" I asked just to confirm and Seojun looked at me with surprise written all over his face.
"You know his son?" Seojun asked me and that was the final nail of the coffin that confirmed that Brandon was involved as well. My blood boiled with rage and my eyes ignited like a volcano ready to erupt at any given time. The look on my face could only be described as ugly.
I had given Brandon a chance, I really did but he just had to be ungrateful and get his father involved. Several thoughts went through my head at that moment. If I had killed him then would all of this have been avoided? Would Laura not be in the state I found her in and would she have had to go through all that trauma?
The answer was no. Maybe things could have only gotten worse and that was something I didn't want to think about. Suddenly Kim's frightened expression came into my mind.
I shook off those thoughts. Now that things had come to this. There was no way in hell I was going to give Brandon a third chance. Brandon was a loose end that needed to be tied up and now that I had a reason to do so, I wasn't going to hold back either.
"Where is Brandon now?" I asked him
Seojun simply shook his head and stood up:
"Don't bother kid. He's gone, vanished like a ghost from his hospital room," Seojun said with an expression that suggested that he was thinking about the number of possibilities how such a thing was possible and of course he had his own theories in mind about this but he would simply have to wait it out until the day Brandon showed his filthy face again.
In the instant neither him nor I knew that we were actually having the same thoughts.
"Come on," Seojun said after a brief moment of silence
"Where are we going?" I asked him
"Why to see your sister of course as well as my niece" Seojun replied with a smile that clearly showed how happy he was.
*****************************
Somewhere off in the distance a figure wearing a black leather armor was walking through the woods with a slightly smaller silhouette following closely behind him. This smaller silhouette was Brandon Macdonald and the man in the armor was…now that you mention it Brandon had no idea who this man was and only knew that he gave off a terrifying feeling that scared him shitless, something he only experienced from Jex and Tyler recently but his was on a whole other level.
As for the man?
He had been there at Mac-Constructions when he first saw Houston trying to make Seojun surrender and let him take control just like the agreement between him and the Blood Lord had agreed. He also watched in amazement and slight fear as a teenager had walked right through Houston's base and immediately began to cause problems for him. He had also watched as the situation escalated to the point where Seojun and his own group of men had arrived and burnt everything in the place down, including Houston's men and even Houston himself.
This man had decided it was best to replace Houston with another pawn and his son just happened to be the perfect person fit for the job.
He had tracked down Brandon using his powerful nose to catch his scent and after explaining to him that his father was actually an agent working for someone else while obviously giving out some false information as well as omitting the fact that he was actually just a pawn in a bigger chess game.
Brandon at that time had been in one of Houston's houses. He was on the couch sitting comfortably as he watched several adult films that he liked very much. But his mind just wasn't up for it. His mind had too many thoughts and for some reason he felt anxious as if he was worried that something bad might have happened.
It just didn't feel right for him to be feeling this way instead of ecstatic because Tyler Calvin would be having a really unpleasant time as of now.
"I wish was there to see those indifferent eyes of his tremble with fear," he muttered to himself.
Suddenly there was a large thud that was heard behind the front door. Brandon with the way he currently was knew that he could not fight to defend himself let alone even run because his legs still felt slightly weak due to his previous fight. He felt his heart beat louder in his heart as the front door was broken down and about five muscular men in black uniform.
Brandon was scared shitless at the site of these big ass men. Brandon had a big body when compared to his peers but standing before these mountains of people was the same as comparing a puppy to a freaking bulldog.
"W-what do you want?" Brandon's lips quivered as he asked this because these men didn't look like random thieves especially given the fact that they had knocked the lights out of Houston's men who were assigned to guard him.
"Just come with us quietly kid," one of the five men said
"Fuck do you guys have any idea who I am! Who my father is!" Brandon thought that using his father's name would somehow get him out of this situation but instead of the men cowering in fear like he expected, they simply chuckled at his antics.
"Of course we know who your father is" another man replied calmly
"Then why are you here?" Brandon asked with the fear inside him growing with every passing second.
"You're father made a mistake kid and he paid for it with his life," the first man spoke again. "You better not make the same mistake and come quietly."
Brandon didn't catch the last words of the man as he felt his entire world crumbling down. His father was dead, dead, dead, dead.
No matter how much Brandon tried to comprehend, there was nothing else to comprehend because once somebody dies they are gone forever and may never return. And the fact that Houston was dead probably meant that Tyler may have not received the punishment that Brandon so heavily wished bestowed upon him but alas the universe seemed to deny him this as he knew that without that his life was in mortal danger. Or so he thought.
"Oh my I guess Seojun is smarter and moves faster than I expected," a voice sounded from behind the men. It was a cold voice that caused a chill to run down their spines as the five men could feel death looming over them. They all instinctively turned around but with shocked expressions and fear they found nothing, turning around to look forward once again they saw an stunningly handsome face with pale white skin, red eyes that had an eerie demonic feeling in them. Jet black hair that flowed down to his shoulders and gave him a slightly feminine appearance, the man a small frame but his stood at least a head taller than all the men in the room.
He wore black leather armor that made him look like an ancient warrior that appeared in fantasy novels.
"Who the f*ck are you?" one of the men asked in a fearful voice.
"My name Rufus Oslov and I am here to get the boy because he could still be of help to my lord," the man named Rufus said in a calm voice as he stared at the five big men standing infront of him.
Brandon was stunned beyond words as he looked at the man who stood in front of him in a protective manner that suggested that Rufus really had no motives to harm him. At least he hoped he wouldn't.
Rufus looked at the men infront of him and muttered under his breath:
"I'm pretty sure that the lord won't be mad at me for helping myself to a little meal right?"
His eyes glowed brighter and with the darkness could be seen clearly with a crimson glow. Rufus smiled revealing his pearly white teeth, and among those teeth there stood out two sharp fangs where there would normally be canines.
Yes, Rufus Oslov was a vampire and an extremely powerful.
He moved forward at a speed that was barely visible to the naked eye such that the man on the further left of the room did not even have time to register what was happening when he suddenly saw the room turn upside down, that wasn't the only thing though. As he saw his own decapitated body falling to the ground while spewing out a fountain of red black before finally his vision went blank.
The remaining four men watched in horror as one of their own had been slaughtered in the literal blink of an eye. As the shock left them dazed they suddenly heard a scream. It was another one of their comrades who had a hand ripping out his chest from the back. All of them saw a bloody fist before it vanished once again and a cracking noise resonated throughout the room before a silhouette of a man was sent flying at astonishing speeds into the wall.
Bang!
The man broke through the wall and was without a doubt most certainly dead, in fact it would be no exaggeration to say that the man had died even before he hit the wall because Rufus had punched him straight in the face without holding back any of his strength.
Now standing in between the remaining two men. He turned to one of them and with a smooth motion of his hand he held him by his neck with a single hand. The man though shocked, managed to take out a pocket knife a stabbed at Rufus dead centre in the chest.
Clang!
The knife simply bounced off Rufus' armor.
Rufus snorted loudly. "You seriously thought that could work?"
With a simple twist Rufus snapped the man's neck. Before letting the body drop like it was a sack of potatoes.
Rufus turned around and looked at the last man standing with a trembling legs. This man was so scared that he peed his pants. Rufus noticed this and let out a disappointed look on his face but shook his head shortly after before approaching the man and lifted him up by his neck as well except this time he didn't use a lot of force and instead brought the man's neck towards his lips and opening his mouth he sank his fangs in him and a refreshing taste similar to when you have a cold drink entered his mouth as blood fell onto his tongue.
Rufus savored the taste for a second before sucking the man dry of his blood without further ado.
Brandon who had witnessed the gruesome massacre as well as the drinking of blood, he surprising didn't feel afraid, instead his eyes shone brightly as only one thought came into his mind.
If I had this power I could definitely make Tyler Calvin bow down to me!
And so for that reason he gladly followed Rufus through the dark forest and after walking for a while they stopped and Rufus stretched his arm forward and began to chant inaudible words. When he was finished, a ring on his middle finger glowed with a faint blue light before the air before them tore open and a spartial rift had been opened.
Brandon watched with a dumbfounded expression.
"W-what is that?" he asked but Rufus simply pushed him through it before he himself jumped through, immediately after the spartial crack was mended as the earth noticed an imbalance in itself and repaired it without an delay.
