Chapter 1 - Prologue

It was a dark night. A large plane with a company logo on its tail flew more than five hundred kilometers in the dark clouds. Thunder rumbled amidst the dark clouds and the plane shook. A commotion wrought through the first class looking passenger space as a man stood before his son with a solemn expression on his face. He had dark colored skin, his hair was cut short. He was dressed in a black suit, his features were attractive. This man was known as Martin Calvin, a head researcher of the government facility known as . On his lap he carried a silver rectangular metallic case that only he knew what was inside.

Seated to his side was a woman with a beauty of her own. He brown eyes, her small nose, the tanned skin that made her skin bronze colored slightly. She was dressed in a one piece that rose from her knees, hugging onto her curves tightly and even extending to cover her arms. It exposed the skin between her swan-like neck in a V-shaped that would have revealed some of her cleavage if not for the black mesh like material. Her black lustrous hair was long and extended to touch the back of her shoulders. Her name was Loretta Calvin.

She was captivating by all rights and the fact that she was with a man as handsome as Martin Calvin made it seem as though they were a match made for heaven. At this moment though they both wore solemn expressions. Nothing about this situation seemed good. Loretta dotted on a young boy who was five years old. His brownish black eyes looking towards his parents. Though they hadn't said anything this boy was smart enough to know that something was wrong.

"Mommy what's wrong?" the boy asked

Loretta felt her heart constrict at that moment. "Nothing sweetie" she said in soothing manner but her shaking voice made the boy all the more concerned.

"You're lying. Just like how big sis does when she gets in trouble for beating up people that bully me" the boys words might have been simple but the meaning behind them warmed their hearts. How was this little boy so intelligent. A tear slid down Loretta's eye as she hugged their little boy. This was meant to be a short trip to South America so they hadn't seen any problem when their little Tyler asked to 'ride in the big plane' with them but who could have known that this trip would proceed in this way?

A streak of lightning flashed. Slamming into the left wing engine of the plane as though someone had targeted it on purpose. The plane shook violently as it leaned to the left. Its left wing engine ignited in flames. At this point the pilot knew it was a lost cause. Looking back a single parachute backpack sat in the corner. The pilot immediately abandoned the controls making the plane tilt further off balance. He strapped the backpack to his back and exited the cockpit his goal was the plane's door that had a large red lever to its side. The pilot looked back for a moment and could see the family trying to comfort each other. His heart stung when he saw the heartbreaking scene but there wasn't really anything he could do except run.

The pilot shook his head his will to survive pushed him to pull the lever down. With a hiss, the door ejected off its hinges and flew off into the darkness of the night. The wind rushed it at a pressure so high it made breathing even difficult. Looking out into the darkness of the night. The pilot's heartbeat sped up, blood pressure pumping at an all time high. He braced himself for the jump but at that moment he felt a hand tug at his shoulder and pull him further inside the plane and away from the door. The pilot turned around and could see Martin standing right before him.

Martin was a smart man and he understood human nature well as so how could the pilot's actions go unnoticed by him. The pilot feeling the plane lose altitude more struck out like a wounded dog with his fist aiming to hit Martin in the head. Martin reacted in kind slapping away the attack with his palm before throwing a knee out. The pilot wheezed as the blow to his groin almost popped his family jewels out.

The pilot then found his head rammed to the wall of the plane before he passed out. Martin looked down at the pilot and shook his head. the pilot had planned to abandon them and simply let them die.

Was this cowardly? Probably. Was it selfish? Yes it very much was but was it wrong? Not really. Every one had a will to do whatever it takes to survive it was just that Martin was sharper than most people on Earth. That was why he had decided to make a trip for South America.

Stripping the pilot of the chute-pack, Martin called over Loretta who was still hugging little Tyler who was shivering in fear. This would probably be the worst first plane ride for any child. Loretta looked towards the passed out pilot with a hard to leave expression on her face before looking back towards her husband.

"I thought you stopped fighting?" she said lightly. At this Martin smiled bitterly.

"I stopped fighting actively doesn't mean my skills dropped" Martin said as he gesture for her to hand Tyler over. "And besides isn't my fighting the reason we met in the first place"

At this point Tyler had been firmly strapped in. though the parachute was too big for the little guy.

"Listen little man. I'm gonna need you to jump out there for mommy and daddy okay?" Martin said to the scared child

"But about you guys?" Tyler asked seemingly sensing that something wasn't quite right. Martin smiled at his second child's sharpness.

"We'll be right behind you sport" Martin ruffled his hair. "When you do jump make sure to pull this with as much strength as you can you got it?"

Loretta watched what could only be their last interaction with their little boy take place. Her mind also revolving towards a little girl with a short brown hair and her shinny brown eyes. The little girl was their first born, Laura and she would be turning eight in the next couple of weeks. Loretta's sadness flared when she knew she wouldn't be there.

Martin seemed to sense his wife's turmoil and slowly rose to his feet. He gave her a hug and kissed her forehead affectionately. The plane shook once more and at that point Tyler felt a light push but that was all, gravity seemed to do the rest as he was ejected from the plane.

"Stay strong kid and remember to pull the as hard as you can!"

Those were the last words he heard from them as the little boy saw the plane's second engine erupt in flames, its nose dipping dangerously. By now Tyler had already pulled and activated the parachute so he saw everything at a normal pace even as the wind swayed him left and right. A third streak of lightning descended once more. This one purple in color and large than the previous one by a large margin. The moment it collided with the plane, it snapped it in two like a pretzel before the two halves exploded with the sound of screeching metal.

Metal pieces flew out everywhere. A large piece of metal flew towards little Tyler. Hitting his head with a such force that he immediately passed out, the impact to his brain wasn't small and at that moment some of his memory cells found themselves misaligned, memory fragments shattered and scattered all over his brain. Another piece of scrap tore through the chute and Tyler's body descended at a faster speed as he collided with trees that scraped and tore through his skin. Even his leg bone fractured.

15 hours later, when the sun hang high he was found by several men in dark combat gear. They held assault rifles to their chests. At a single glance they could tell immediately that the boy was in a really bad condition. A fractured leg where bone protruded skin, splintered arms with deep gashes here and there. One of the men knelt and pressed two fingers to the boys neck. His eyes widening in shock.

"His still alive!"

"What!" another exclaimed

"Let's help him" a man who stood at six feet nine said with a soft expression. This man was the leader of this mercenary troop.

Everyone was shocked to hear this. They were mercenaries of Tonitruum. They had never done something like that ever before so why now?

"Boss?" one young man asked just to clarify

"It's alright he could be very useful for our organization"

This decision was one that had a direct impact on the future of the human race.
