Chereads / Multidimensional Lucid Dream Transmigrator / Chapter 3 - Chateau de la Mystique

Chapter 3 - Chateau de la Mystique

The woman's real name was Florence Hurley, but Wilson would only find out about this on the day that she dies.

"Wilson Weeks, now that you've chosen to enter, I officially welcome you to the Society of Dream Transmigrators."

"Society of Dream Transmigrators… I like it!" Wilson excitedly said.

"A few things first, you will have to catch up quickly on some things if you want to survive, and you have to choose between meeting other transmigrators through a recommendation or doing your business on your own. You also have to be mindful of your surroundings in your waking life from now on." the woman cautiously said. "Oh, and you can call me Virgil Munoz."

"You're really the author of the book? I thought Virgil was a man."

Virgil paid him no mind and brought him to a luxurious room with two comfortable-looking chairs facing each other, she motioned him to sit on one chair as she moved to sit on the other.

Wilson, being naturally observant, checked the room out. It was a themed room with red as its main color, it contained lots of shelves where collectibles of various kinds were displayed. Some looked like regular Earth things, he saw matryoshka dolls, noh masks, ceremonial swords, books, an odd-looking guitar of some sort, a skull, and a taxidermied crow. He also saw some things that he couldn't understand, a shining tablet that looked like some sort of otherworldly gemstone inscribed with an unknown language, a statue of an alien, an abnormally futuristic-looking robot dog, and a glowing slime encased in a jar (it looked like a lava lamp but he felt sure that it was a slime).

"I guess we can finally talk about why I'm here huh?" Wilson asked.

"Yes, Wilson Weeks." Virgil calmly answered. "You picking up the book wasn't a coincidence, it was placed there in the used books bookstore for you to find, and it was just time that we were waiting for until you eventually picked it up on your 30th birthday. I must say, you have monumental timing. You did well. A lot of things would be different if you picked it up on a different day."

"Really?" Wilson felt giddy.

"Wilson Weeks, it would be best for you to remember the things that I am about to tell you so that your journey into multiple dreams would be smooth, and for the sake of the world as well."

"Multidimensional Dream Transmigration is an alien technology that has been slowly passed on to humans ever since the beginning of the world's creation as a way to help bring a world's species to a higher level, in preparation for its eventual galactic entrance. I will not bore you with the details of who the aliens are and why they gifted us with this technology but know that they are allies in your own journey of transmigration. You will know and feel their presence more and more as you become better acquainted with the skill you now have."

"You are chosen as one of the new generations of transmigrators who will, through dreams, shape the waking world. It is up to you how you want to shape your waking world through your adventures in your dreams."

"Good luck, Wilson Weeks."

Virgil stood up, and walked out of the room, leaving Wilson dumbfounded.

"I didn't learn anything!" Wilson shouted in anger.

"Virgil, what nonsense did you just talk about? There's nothing about what you said that I can actually use! F—!"

Wilson felt cheated, he expected a clear answer when he decided to come inside the Chateau de la Mystique but all he got, in the end, was something like a cheap subplot for a mediocre web novel! To hell with being chosen! He did not even want this to begin with.

He suddenly felt shivers down his spine. He realized that he was alone in the room with all of the oddities, and he feels like they were all looking at him. He couldn't move from his seat, either he was being shackled, or his fear was keeping him from moving. He could only turn his head to look at the things displayed and check if anything will pounce on him.

As if answering his fears, the robot dog started to move. It released sounds that can only be said be to futuristically mechanical as if it was booting up. It then started to howl loudly, and very mechanically. Wilson jumped from his seat and faced the robot dog.

"Good doggie! Good doggie! Who's a good boy?" Wilson nervously called to the robot dog.

"I am, in fact, a female, you wretched creature." The robot dog barked.

"Woah there missy, I'm sorry, I didn't know." Wilson quipped.

"You should address me as Princess Ginger Alissa Conley, the 543rd in line of the Conley Grand Empire of the 4th dimension. Bow down to my greatness, lowly human!"

"No." chuckled Wilson.

"You little!" Princess Ginger Alissa Conley barked.

"This is just my dream, what am I to fear?" Wilson courageously said.

"Oh you should really fear for your safety, boy." a chilly voice from behind rang in Wilson's ears.

"Who's that? Show yourself!" Wilson shouted.

"People from other dimensions call me an 'ego sword', but you can call me by my maker's name: Masamune." the voice continued. "If you want to get specific, I am the Musashi Masamune. One of the greatest swords in the world."

Wilson looked at the swords displayed and saw a special sword glowing blue as it emitted words from who knows where.

"You will die here if you don't know how to dream, boy." Masamune eerily whispered.

"GJkjhuaysdljZJFHkdfjmLKHOoifuskjfk!!!" the jar with a glowing slime inside made incomprehensible sounds. Wilson couldn't understand it but he felt the terror that comes from the jar.

"Hihihihihi! What are you going to do? Willie?" the matryoshka dolls sang in unison.

"He's starting to get terrified. Oohhh. Ooooohhhh." one of the noh masks started speaking.

Wilson got bombarded by threats and taunts from the items inside the room, and slowly he began to fear for his life. He felt as if the room was shrinking, and it was true! The room was slowly getting cramped, the items getting closer and closer to him and he felt like they were going to devour him.

"Am I going to die here?" he was almost starting to cry.

A book fell near his right foot, at first he wasn't able to read its title but as he was panicking, his eyes were looking for something to focus on, and he finally saw the title of the book. "Wield Your Weapons, Or Your Weapons Will Wield You."

"That's right! This is my dream! I can wield anything here as if it was my own!"

Normal transmigrators would just find the door and escape from the room, but Wilson, because he was so afraid, did not move to find the exit. He also is extremely lucky.

He grabbed Musashi Masamune. "What are you doing, boy? You can't wield me!"

He took the matryoshka dolls. "Hahahaha! Willie is an exciting young man!"

He took the talking noh mask and wore it on his head. "You are not afraid of the repercussions of this?"

He saw a small red bag on his periphery and put all the books he can fit in it. Wilson got surprised that no matter how many books he put in the bag, it doesn't fill up, so he took all the items he found interesting and put it in the bag. He took almost everything!

The room was already too small to fill all the items if Wilson didn't put the others in the red bag, and the only things left in the room were the jar, Princess Ginger Alissa Conley, and some items that were not that important looking to Wilson. As he was picking up the jar with the glowing slime inside of it, the slime moved vigorously and the jar slipped from his hand.

The glass broke and the slime got out. "JkjahfGGoiausfhknaskjfYYjkbafjne!!!" it muttered something incomprehensible again. Its size was expanding, slowly at first, and then rapidly until it covered the whole room.

"F—! What's this?" Wilson was as confused as a pickle who suddenly got sentience.

He swung his sword against the slime.

"This is why I told you to bow before me, lowly human!" Princess Ginger Alissa Conley sighed.

"Does bowing to you do anything different, missy?" Wilson growled.

"It would change everything, ten minutes ago, you dummy."

"Can't do anything about it then, missy."

"Very well, I shall accompany you wherever this Universal Slime plans to take you. Its whims are known to be the most bizarre in the known universe."

"Universal Slime? Can't I defeat it? It's just a slime."

"It is only the most powerful existence in this universe, you dimwit. You know nothing, Wilson Weeks."

"What? Slime? Most powerful? Why was it in a jar?"

"You don't know of the mysteries of the world, let alone the universe, and then there's the multiverse. What a real foolish man I've unluckily been tasked to look over." Princess Ginger Alissa Conley sighed even deeper.

The Universal Slime devoured Wilson Weeks, Princess Ginger Alissa Conley, and the chair that Wilson was sitting at moments ago.

"So Wilson chose to be brave." Virgil, no, Florence Hurley made a knowing smile.

"Where do you plan to take them, grandmaster Slime?" she said as she started putting back the shrinking slime into a new jar. She was prepared to save Wilson and sacrifice her life if he chose to run away. Dusting off the room, she noticed a small piece of jewelry on the edge of the room, which has now returned back to its normal size.

"It's a pity he wasn't able to take my most precious welcoming gift." Florence thought.

"OHKjkjkjhlkaslKJJhuisdafhjbKJHDSkjkKJhjbfdjs!" the Universal Slime muttered.

"I will never truly know your ways."
